My point is that while you might see a jetpack as a travel power, others might see it as a costume option. The fact that some people in this thread cannot see that is showing a disregard of other people's opinions.

That particular jetpack is a temporary power. It costs $5 for 30 days. Some people see it as a costume option, despite what you or I think.

That jetpack is completely unique to that mini-booster.

And a firm NO to costumes having any actual effects or bonuses. Keep it all cosmetic, thanks.
    Even jetpacks?

I hate to break it to you, but over the span of 3 years I was with the City Scoop, my post count skyrocketed. Why? Because I was posting (and reposting) articles, puzzles, and layout for the Scoop before the Admins posted them for everyone to see. While I was Editor in Chief I often had to respond to other user's questions about the Scoop. I was not the only one involved with the Scoop who watched their post-count rise quickly. The other reason my post count is high is that I've been posting for the last 5 years. I've been an active member of the community. I make an average of 8.29 posts per day (sometimes more, sometimes less). You make an average of 1.2 posts per day. So what?

It is because you are only seeing a part of the story. This is a continuation of a discussion, not the start of one. He really is in a twist. On the other hand I'm not spiting him specifically, I'm spiting the typographists the world over. I do so by making a statement that I, as a graphic/web designer, can choose to use this typeface if I feel it is appropriate to the situation. In this case, there isn't (that I've found) a better solution. All the comic-type suggestions, like I've said above, fail to meet all the criteria of a typeface that I'm looking to replace the in-game type (Montreal DemiBold, whoever chose that typeface should be lectured to about readability) with.

    Those criteria are:
    • Is full-featured (entire character set).
    • Has distinct 1, i, I, l, and L (btw comic sans: 1, i, I, l, and L).
    • Scales well.
    • Is free.
    • Theme appropriate.
Comic Sans fills all those criteria. Most amateur typefaces are not a full character set while most professional full sets are not free. A lot of the other suggested typefaces (both amateur and professional) don't scale well, tend to be all caps (meaning that my first and second criteria fails), or are not really thematically appropriate. Just like I wouldn't use Bodoni, Garamond, Goudy, or Times to make a old western themed poster, I do not see that the same typefaces fit with a comic book style game.

The fact that he (and apparently others) is so upset over what I and other have used as an in-game typeface smacks of him (and others) dictating how I (and others) play the game. Can you see what typeface I use? No? Then why should it matter? If anyone posts pictures of their game and you see comic sans, take a deep breath and relax, you are not seeing it on your game screen. If you take umbrage that someone is posting a picture with comic sans in it, then you are taking things far too seriously and you should step back.

I'd like to tell you, but really the story isn't as interesting as you might think. Besides I might get into trouble from Mod08. I really don't want him mad at me.

Right. I'm officially throwing up my hands and giving up. I've no more interest in the anti-Comic Sans movement, beyond a mix of bemusement and frustration that enough people hate popularity enough for it to exist.
I've actually gone past that point. I'm debating on deliberately posting in Comic Sans when I want to show that I'm not serious about something. My personal use of Comic Sans will go through the roof & people that hate the typeface will be constantly annoyed. Just saying.

Then I wake up a few hours later and touch my earlobe and find out they are bleeding from the rage aneurysm I just had.

So finally I thought "Sure, some people want a more comic-booky look to their text, but Comic Sans looks like utter garbage! SURELY there MUST be a solution!" I set out on an epic quest that took many keystrokes as I typed "comic book font" into Google. First result was this: http://www.dafont.com/comic-book.font. Free font that actually looks like comic book lettering instead of something you see on a church newsletter to make it look more fun. If I saw screenshots of the game with that font (or a better one, I looked for all of 5 seconds to find it, surely there's better ones out there) I'd be like "Hey, neat" instead of muttering obscenities.

But I'm not saying you should change it up for me. Do this for yourselves. You deserve to be looking at a font that wasn't created back in the mid-90s to end up being used as the main font in a word processor designed for kids. You wanted your game to look like a comic book, instead it looks like a scribbly mess. Get your game out of Kinko's and hire a professional inker to pen those menus!
That is not a full set typeface. I mean if you are going to get your underwear in a knot over a lettering style, then why aren't you being retentive enough about using the proper term? If you want to be a type-dictator, then (and I've challenged you to this before) find a typeface that is full-featured (entire character set), has distinct 1, i, I, l, and L (btw comic sans: 1, i, I, l, and L), scales well, and is free. The problem is -you can't-. Your suggestion fails to be a full-featured typeface.

Comic Sans is designed not to be taken seriously and, given how serious you are about the subject, I think you really should relax before you have a heart attack or something.

    Edit:
You want to know why your suggestion fails miserably, LJ? I'll show you why.

It is something that you could have found out in less than a minute using dafont's built in display. The 1 and the i are too close at that size, and the lowercase l is nearly identical to the uppercase L. And that isn't even at 11-12 point.

Granted, I'd just load my /saved stuff whenever I went to an unchanged alt, but that's not what he's saying.
If he used /savechat, all new characters would default to those chat settings. On existing characters /loadchat would be needed. Even so, using /loadchat on his alts would be quicker than doing so manually, which the original poster implies.

This is a suggestion that actually makes sense. I would still say the icons in the center of the enhancements should be standardized across TO, DO, SO, and IOs. Yes, enhancements appear in the same order, but I still after over 5 years sometimes have to click on an enhancement to tell what it is.

The currently different icons diminishes the ability to recognize what an enhancement does. An icon is supposed to be a recognizable representation of the purpose of the item. Changing the icons defeats that purpose.

And don't even get me started on the "special enhancements" like the Hydra, Titan, and Hamidon (regular and synthetic) series where there is no clue until you inspect them.

Neither of those trigger a Zombie Apocalypse. As Kheldarn has said, it is turning in Halloween Salvage (which also has the chance for a Supernatural Activity Banner event).

Also remember that in order to be eligible for beta, your account has to be in good standing.
Be patient. If your account is in good standing you'll get in before it goes live.

Because by the time you have loaded the picture, the code was claimed. 2-10 seconds is the length of time these codes have got used.

    Based on a few things:
    • Day job accolades should be earned in a single month of play, this would reward a new player just starting out (during their free month) and could entice that player to stay with the game.
    • Yes, I would much prefer to be rewarded for actively playing the game then being handed a token for not playing the game.
    • I've noted that I've been playing less of the game overall specifically because I can't play my favourite characters due to the day job badges.

Day jobs reward you for actively NOT playing the game. You cannot play the game on that character and earn credit for any day job.

Yes, I got them all. Why? It is because I didn't play a favourite character for nearly two years. That reduced my pleasure at subscribing for that time, to the point that I nearly quit subscribing altogether. The last thing the game needs is for myself and people like me to have that sort of feelings toward a game they generally like.

Also does anyone else need Mast states
I can help out but for the next while I need to know ahead of time for helping with any of the blue side TFs. (I still don't have either of the red side master badges due to not really having a villain badger).

But I have the following level 50 characters (and one level 48):
White Succubus - Ill/Emp/PF Controller (all the hero master badges)
    Snow Globe - Ice/FF/Ice Controller
    Strobe - Peacebringer Controller
    Pearl Angel - Broadsword/Shield Scrapper
    Accellerante - Fire/Kin/Fire Controller (level 48)

    Shi Otomi - Nin/Nin Stalker
    Blastbot - Bots/Dark MM
