  1. Temporary Powers!!

There are so many available now that even the littlest scrapper can have revolvers, hand grenades, med packs, recovery serum, etc.

All of these really help lower-level characters and allow them to "come into their own" that much faster.
  2. I ended up keeping hasten because I needed Superspeed and its Blessing of the Zephyr set. It turned out to be useful in helping with recharging Conserve Power during my pylon test.

It's somewhat understandable, but you still need the experience of getting your SR scrapper clock cleaned by Nemisis minions getting Vengence buffs from their dead Lts. My experience is that you've got to read/study a bit on the forums and Paragon Wiki, but you've also just got to go do it (sue me Nike, I dare you).

I'm 18 months into the game with my first toon, a DB/SR scrapper, and I'm still learning from doing.

Thanks for this and your other response. Thanks also for your kind words. I am happy that I've reached the level where I know the right questions to ask, instead of my previous state of flailing wildly.
  5. Once I get enough recharge to run the Blinding Feint - Attack Vitals combo attack chain without Hasten, then Hasten doesn't really do much for me, right?

It's my understanding that the only DB attack chain better than BF - AV combo is the infamous Blinding Feint -> Sweeping Strike -> Ablating Strike attack chain which requires a huge amount of recharge.
  6. I'm asking this mainly because I've boiled my brain trying to put together a respec for my lvl 50 scrapper, and I can no longer think straight.

Up until now, I've had 2x Recharge IOs in Practiced Bawler to make sure that it is always up.

I know think I can get away with just one Recharge IO, 42.4%, + my 67.5% recharge bonus. This should be a total of 109.9% reducing PBs 200 sec recharge to under 100 sec which is more than enough for its 120 sec duration.

Am I calculating this correctly? I like the idea of having an extra slot to play with, but I don't want to be embarrassed when I discover I no longer have perma-PB.
  7. Thanks for all the clever thoughts, though at times my head begins to spin. Maybe I should roll up a new lvl 1 scrapper and go hunt and kill skulls.
  8. I'm trying to decide if I want 3x lvl 50 Endurance Mod IOs or 2x lvl 50 Endurance Mod IOs and a Performance Shifter: Chance for +Endurance in Physical Perfection.

Physical Perfection grants 22.9% recovery according to Mids. 3x End Mod IOs increase this by 99.08% to 45.6%, and 2x End Mod IOs increases it to 42%. What I can't figure out is the benefit of the Performance Shifter proc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I put together a nice little villa in Cimerora (yes, I'm one of those RPers) with four rooms - a living area and entry room overlooking the beach, and a control/power room and workshop built into the mountain. It has one invention table, one salvage rack, and a large tequila still.
  10. A couple of months ago, she soloed her first AV. Now, my lvl 50 db/sr scrapper, Ms Pris, has achieved her second big goal of the year, becoming Ebil. She even went out and got a top hat and formal trench coat to celebrate the occasion. The sexist COH developers don't let female characters smoke cigars so you'll just have to imagine that detail.

She faced several hurdles - my lack of market cleverness, the market merger transition, and dropping 200 million to set up a one-person SG and base.

Now the fun comes, spending it.
  11. Ms Pris, my lvl 50 scrapper, finished her transition to vigilante this morning. She's making lots of new friends, such as her pal here. Don't we make the cutest couple?

  12. Any idea, how would all this apply to one-person SGs?
  13. Is there anything for base colors similar to what Altoholic_Monkey has done for costume and skin tone colors? I'm cruelly color blind and would appreciate all the help I can get.

    Hello Virtue

Thanks for you kind welcoming messages. I've already started to settle in, am hooked up to the global channels, and have visited Pocket D and tried out my rudimentary online RP skills.

So many fun activities suggested and so little time.

When Ms Pris is finished with its construction, she'll invite all to a party at Villa Dissolutus.

    Hello Virtue

I've just recently started moving to Virtue from Victory which was where I started CoH. The main reason is that the SG which I played with there has imploded from inactivity. After some poking about the various servers, Virtue seemed like it would be a nice place to set up camp.

I've moved a few of my more powerful, older characters here, and created some news one. I hope to get into the whole RP thing. As a first step in that, I put together an entry for my oldest CoH character in the virtueverse.com, http://www.virtueverse.com/index.php/Ms_Pris .

I've already had some fun here, flirting with an oversexed teenage troll blaster on a Kahn TF, and I look forward to having some more. I'm on the lookout for a SG, so anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Hear, hear - I hate all the tier 9 powers that make you crash and burn. An elude that provided more limited and/or different benefits but without "please kill me now that its over" feature would be very nice.
  17. My most powerful character is a DB/SR scrapper, and she's quite happy with her SR. She has little use for the cowards who lurk behind shields rather than facing danger like a woman.

I was on one of those teams yesterday with Manly Nurse, my emp/elec def. It was all radio missions in Brickstown, and I went from 27 to 30th lvl. I had to quit after about three hours, but it was great fun.

  20. See the build I just submitted to the "A Super Reflexes Question" thread.
  21. Here's a Mids design for my lvl 50 DB/SR scrapper, Ms Pris. It follows the general outline I described above. In terms of IOs, I'm about 60% of the way to the collection I need to make this design fully realized. As I said above, I've decided to go without a travel power in order to have fighting, medicine, fitness, and body mastery, as well as being fully soft-capped and having a strong attack chain. Feedback, thoughts, abuse, etc. would all be appreciated. This is the first Mids build I've submitted to the forum so I'm curious about the reaction.

  22. Very neat series of posts that pose some of the same issues I've been wrestling with while working on my lvl 50 DB/SR scrapper and which have helped me with my thinking on this topic. My problem has been how to get Physical Perfection, Aid Self, soft-capped defenses, and a BF-AV attack chain. After much wrestling with Mids, I have the basic outline of the build.

All SR powers except Elude (8 powers)

PS, AS, BF, VS, SS, and 1K Cuts from DB (6 powers)

Fighting: Kick, Tough, and Weave (3 powers)

Fitness; Swift, Health, and Stamina (3 powers)

Medicine: Aid Other (like I ever will) and Aid Self (2 powers)

Body Mastery: Conserve Power and Physical Perfection (2 powers)

In the end, I decided that I lost the least from not having a travel power. I'll have Raptor Packs from the Shard and a combination of Sprint/Swift/Quickness for long-distance travel. I may even drop the clams for the Martial Arts pack in order to get Ninja Run.

I'll post a full Mids build when I've got that completed.
  23. Same thing with me. The people, including my characters, look like ghosts.
  24. SnakeRogers

    My first solo AV

    No, but I have a post-fight picture.
