  1. There are three Nictus. The Healer, The Mire, and the Spawner. Other names work too.

The healer nictus fires a power like Twilight Grasp that can hit virtually anything at the same time. It's power is accuracy based so your shields should prevent most of the healing from occuring.
The mire nictus regularly fires a power like Sunless Mire. It appears to be either auto-hit or super high accuracy. This power may tear through all of your Shield based high defenses.
The spawner nictus regluarly creates bonus koosh balls that shoot you. A regular AoE into the horde should keep their numbers in check.

StarGeek gives an excellent suggestion of bringing more firepower. What you also may want to do is have one player pull the Mire, and maybe the healer too, slightly away from Romolus and all your friends bashing on him. Far enough not to hit Rom and your friends, close enough so they don't run away.

    Me. Because I don't care about 350,000.
  3. This social group is the biggest Social Group on the forums. Also, it is bigger than the 2nd and 3rd groups combined.

    No wonder I can't purple out a 4th Warshade.
  4. I've been on all the extreme teams of all of this, or all of that, or all the extreme mixes. They all can work. I usually respond "we're fine without x, let's just get some people and shoot stuff". Sometimes others respond "I really want x" or "we can't do it without x", or "it be better with x". I play CoH to shoot stuff. I get a bunch of people together and we charge maniacally at stuff. That's what I want to do. If other people want to do otherwise they can but I won't be joining. I'd rather read a book, join another team, or do anything else than be on a team of "need x"rs...

Of course not all need x's. I'll admit I exagerated, but anything game related where it's not some theme team and I'm gone. I think most people got the idea from my original statement.
  5. I leave any team where a player says "we need x".

What didn't you like about Sonic/? Radiation/ might be for you, Irradiate is an early PBAoE attack and generally kins like getting into melee.

Does your play-style match up with who you are in RL?
    Hahahahahhahaha. **Gasp** Hahahahahahaha.
Anyone want to do anything in real life with me?

I'll let someone else explain it The short answer is thankfully "no", my play-style does not match up with who I am in real life.

a 8 man FRAD team holds the record for the STF at less then 30 minutes. NOTHING else has come close. so what ever else you may be eluding to above is wrong, sorry you jumped on the fire/kin bandwagon and got butt hurt. and if you are going to require "proof" from someone else, when you reply with moronic arguments, you might want to offer up some "proof" of your own.
I'm sorry I didn't explain myself. I thought it didn't even warrant a response. First, speed runs usually involve running past the bad guys. Running past the bad guys has never been a sign of "best" to me. Sure it's fun to do it once and it's impressive but it's running past the past guys and not fighting them.

Second, please correct me if I'm mistaken, but aren't the two cooperative level 50 Task Force speed runs dominated by teams like I suggested and not all Rad teams?

Third, why didn't you do a numerical analysis of the team I provided off the top of my head.

Fouth, If you like pick an AE mission. I'll bring my dream team. You bring your team of all frads, or find them and get them to come. Set the difficulty up super high. In AE we can make a difficult mission that involves killing stuff and not running by stuff. I'd be happy to demonstrate, in game, that there are teams more efficient than all Rads.

Personally, my dream team pretty much is all Rads. I like to play wildly aggressive and get myself and my teammates killed a lot. Fallout, Vengeance and Mutation are the perfect tools to make all that fun.

Anyone want to place any bets

I hate and dread using the market every time I have to do it. But maybe that is because I am not a greedy gold farmer sending my kids to college on RMT.
What type of item are you unhappy about being difficult to obtain? How many similar items have you ever found while playing City of Heroes?

Your idea, that having capped damage+tar patch means you can't be stopped by anything, flies in the face of the reality of the game and the abilities of Romans.

Unless there's a bunch of Leadership buffs or the melee have gone out of their way to buff their own tohit, they are quite likely to have acc issues.
So your response is "only if the experienced and skilled players are experienced and skilled players can they accomplish that feat"? If an experienced and skilled player was going to do such a challenge, he or she would know what he is doing. Shouldn't people be taking those leadership buffs all the time if they were "skilled" team players?
  11. That's not as much as many other teams.
  12. I've always wanted to post this but never really could One thing to keep in mind is the difference between a change in the money level and rampant unchecked inflation. I don't think I've seen anyone confuse the two but I've always wanted to post this The 10% fee keeps the second from occuring. Simply, players cannot/will not produce enough Inf to make each item cost 2 Billion and burn 200 million in fees.

An increase in Inf relative to items is one thing. That's like changing from Earth orbit to Saturn Orbit. There's just more Inf in the system. There's "rising prices" going from one position to the other but eventually it will stop.

Rampant inflation is another thing. That's more and more inf being produced and always existing. If there was no 10% fee this would occur. It's like a spiraling orbit always getting larger. There's no end.

    *EDIT* Just off the top of my head, 1 Fire/Kin Corruptor, 1 Fire/Dark Corruptor, 2 SS/Shield Brutes, 2 Crabs, and 2 Dark/Sonic Defenders would outdamage 8 Fire/Rads.

Overall it just depends on what powers the team had altogether.

P.S. This would not be my dream team either, I only need one Kin.
I disagree with you completely. The defense debuff and primaries are irrelevant. There are three kins on the team and a dark. It's set at difficulty one. If the enemies get much more than 1 volley off the "playskill" of the team simply sucks. The mission should be won through pure offensive overpowering. The team should easily kill the enemies before the Romans remember they even have swords.

I think some of you are unable to comprehend what kind of experience and skill some players can possess.

*EDIT*I've been a part of countless amazing feats of skill... while facedown in the dirt 30 yards behind.
  15. I'm willing to start a "rich" players social group. Hand me 100M Inf on anyside on any server and I will officially give you membership to the group and delcare you rich. Officially. For real.

Just for this week only I'll let 50M be rich. Officially rich.

Player skill may have had some to do with it, but a lack of Tohit buffs or Defense debuffs against the Shield-defended Cimerorans might also explain it, yes?
    No. I don't think so.

Play skill in this scenario is an ocean. Your proposed explanation is a tiny thimble of water. Experienced and skilled players could have done that with enhancements turned off with that same team.
  17. Well my GMs (plural) can't heal. Don't have it slotted. Don't have it on my tray. Never needed nor wanted it.
  18. Does everyone know I suck at this game?
  19. The original poster is making a concept character. I think the original poster should just go with whatever powers he wants and play how he likes. The games about fun, some people like teaming with that style of character, and sounds like that's fun for him.

Honestly, I don't think he should try and get advice from the forums. If he attempts to get advice here the concept will be lost. Mostly because the concept's effectiveness in CoH... for lack of better words... sucks. Perhaps you want to specifically ask "What powers would fit the concept" best and avoid "what would be the most useful".
  20. Green Machine is part of the Repeat Offender network and is on Freedom.

    http://www.repeat-offenders.net/foru...?showforum=102

Green Machine is an Empathy SG about shooting people. The "H" word is about the worst insult possible to a Green Machine. They consider themselves as Instant Healing, Elude Blasters. I'm unsure of what style you were looking for.
  21. You want to take Scream, Shriek and Howl as soon as possible. Then slot them before anything and everything else. The two of you, if always duo'd, should be able to skip Stamina as well and alternate RAs. A little space between them at low levels. Post AB skipping Stamina with ease.
  22. I finally got around to organizing my first Victory Imperious Task Force. I had a blast I'll be organizing more at random times via the "Victory Forum" channel. We ran on Invincible/Relentless at level 50. We had 4 lowbies. We took whoever showed up. We charged at everything. 80 deaths 108 minutes.

I make some silly rules for my pickup ITFs. Any archetype/level as long as we get mentors. No sissies. Be prepared to die and come knowing how to use your attacks. Sissies include "I just heal", "I just taunt", "I just buff", "I glue rocks to my face", or anything where you don't attack the bad guys.

Thanks for coming all Glad to be on Victory Hope to meet more of you.
  23. I guess it's just my bias against single target attacks. Always felt like you are accomplishing nothing to me. I guess I'm not as "Ultimate" as some silly people.
  24. My Siphon Life is slotted for 95% healing, giving it 292.36 hp every 6.732 seconds and 43.43 hp/sec.

    6.732 + 1.93 = 8.662
    1.93 / 8.662 = 22%

My point is spending 22% of your time casting Siphon Life cannot mean "that we can already see what ELA does with this kind of healing power and it isn't overpowered." You are spending 22% of your time fist pumping and not wacking stuff upside the head with a piece of metal on a stick, or speed chaning dark punches, or using one of your more killerating powers. I'm assuming here... and it's pure assumption... that Energize won't require you to spend a significant amount of your time "Energizing".
