Honestly there's no situation you face as a villain that isn't made better by adding a giant robot.

[ QUOTE ]
This would be my my favorite TF if I didn't always end up on teams that fail it.
I understand that it doesn't seem to be a big deal to most people these days, but some how what ever PuG I end up on, We almost always fail. I have actually had teams that win far less than 50% of the time.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know, I've been on PUGs that had 50% level 50s, the rest lackied level 35s, with no regard for mix of ATs, and I have yet to fail it or even complete team wipe. I can only shudder at what the PUGs you must have been on were like! -
[ QUOTE ]
I like the ITF. I was on a six-man ITF team last night, and for once we ran it from front to back... just kill everything in front of us. I suspect this was less a conscious choice of style of game play and more the results of a tanker who had a hard time thinking any other way. This is because, when we reached Rommie the first time, we charged right in and took on two AVs at once (which only led to a few deaths and not a full team wipe). Then when we got to the final mission we just charged up lag hill as if there were no other way to do it, and when we got to the platform we didn't bother to clear anything, we just charged the main platform, rounded everyone up, and before it was even 100% clear went straight for Rommie.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except for that last part, that's the best way to run the TF in my opinion. I really dislike stealthing or porting past the opposition to the end. The huge battles are so much fun even in spite of the Valley of Lag.
Definitely need a plan with Rommie, however (unless you have two /kins and two brutes, then you can just mop the floor with his face)
[ QUOTE ]
But despite that I actually enjoyed doing the mission in a straight-ahead bash & smash style for once.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's great, isn't it -

I don't understand why it asks me if it is okay if they charge my card when I get to what seems to be the end (where it shows that I'm paying for slots) and I don't know which card will be charged. How do I know? I don't want to go any further until I get it figured out because it says it is not refundable.
I'd like to know.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well if I had to take a wild guess, I'd say it's probably the card you have on file with them to pay for your monthly subscription. -

How about Rikti zombies?

Wow. Some of you people sound like you're jaded beyond enjoying the game anymore. Myself, I've only been playing since January, and I can't wait to see this. I get all excited when the sky turns red or green...
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been playing since I 6 and I still get excited by it. Not as much as I did when the invasions first started, of course, but I love that they're in the game.
Especially Rikti. I remember when those invasions first started. It was like the whole world changed. Nowhere was safe for long. Those mournful warning sirens were almost spine-tingling. It was great.
Don't listen to the fuddy-duddies. Gear up and get ready to face the invasion!
Yeah... still excited after all this time!

I entered a mission the other day where all the mobs were LTs. and it was on a common farm map, Map 02. And there was no story to speak of.
So I figured it was a farm.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe. Without more information I cannot say for sure.
[ QUOTE ]
Is it a copyright infraction? The intent is clearly the JLA but there are no similar character names or costumes? Is that the difference between a copyright infraction and a homage?
[/ QUOTE ]
It is very clearly not a copyright infraction. In fact, it is impossible to make a copyright infraction in this game without using text.
It MAY, however, be a Trademark violation depending on how recognizable and similar the characters were. Without seeing the actual images, it's hard to say on these forums. -

Will City of Heroes: Going Rogue have a neutral alignment!?
I think it would be awesome to be an "on the fence" player that has Heroes and Villains in a Supergroup together that is dedicated to being on neither side (i.e. a neutral aligned Supergroup).
[/ QUOTE ]
The original marketing survey that discussed Going Rogue mentioned a "Neutral" alignment (Called "Rogue"). All new characters would start neutral and would be able to, by their actions, pick a side. It also implied that you could continue to stay "rogue".
Of course all that could have changed now, but there's good reason to hope that it may yet manifest. -

[ QUOTE ]
I don't see your lvl as an indication of how much they trust or distrust you. That implies that a Lvl 50 has more trust then a lvl 5. When it really just means how high a threat they think you can be trusted to handle. It is a gauge of your power not how much they trust you, but rather what they trust you can handle.
[/ QUOTE ]
Perhaps. Does it make any sense for a level 50 villain to side-switch into a level 50 hero and immediately be a "Hero of the City", though? That would seem weird, to me. Of course, we have no idea how it's going to work, so it's all fun speculation at this point.

It's not like badges have an objective reality in the game world. They're metagame rewards, not canon in-game titles. -

Normally I agree with every word you post Robo, but not on this. In the real world stuff costs money. That's just how the real world operates.
Now Niviene, where do I go to purchase my Base Builders Giant Add-On Booster Pack? My Credit Card is waiting.
[/ QUOTE ]
The disturbing thing is , I wouldn't be surprised if the Dev's pulled that crap on the Base Builders crowd.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm fine with microtransaction add-ons like that, if it means I can finally get some uber-cool stuff I really really want for my base.
...and where's Super Booster 3? -
Definitely either wires getting nicked by a fan or a fan with bad bearings. Open it up, check to make sure no wires are anywhere near fan blades (and won't be pushed into fan blades with the cover put back on). If that fails, try disconnecting the rear case fans one by one to see if the problem vanishes when one is removed.
It could also be the fan in the P/S, no way to test that unless you have a spare, so I'd try the other tests above first. -

When i log in to COH and allows me to click on a server then pauses for about 30 seconds and says can't connect to DB server. The really weird thing is I have been on already today. However, I can only access each server one time. Then the next time I try to log in I get the can't connect message for any server I have logged into today. This is happening on both of my accounts. Any help?
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you sure it's happening to each server once and not something like you click on a server, it times you out, sends you back to the login screen, you log back in and then just try another server and it works? It could be a timing issue. The second server might work because it was "long enough" between logins for the issue whatever it is to clear.
Have you tried the same server multiple times in a row?
If so and it still doesn't work, try clearing the DNS cache on your computer (start->run->ipconfig /flushdns) and see if that helps at all. -
I like Avast! Anti-Virus (because it has a small footprint, a screen saver virus scanner, frequent updates and it sounds Piratey), Spybot Seek and Destroy (with the Teatimer Resident Protection). I have a hardware firewall so I don't concern myself with that overmuch.
I also periodically run Wireshark and see what's happening on my network and chase down any weird packets or oddball destination IPs to see what the deal is there. I've had some odd ones come up. It helps you really plug those holes in your network security.
Also, be sure if you use wireless that you're using passkey encryption, MAC address filtering, and aren't broadcasting an SSID. -

Having more than 1 realtime AV is a bad recommendation IMHO.

Or he can use Windowed mode instead of Fullscreen and the aspect ratio should be fine no matter what size he changes the screen to (providing his desktop is at the correct aspect ratio as well).
[/ QUOTE ]
Or he can just go with the native resolution for his new monitor which is probably printed right on the box in nice bold print.
And those screenshots look fine (but he could use some anti-aliasing - hate those jagged edges) -
[ QUOTE ]
Thanks guys, that took care of it. It is a shame that the new driver doesn't work though.
Since I'm here, do you have any idea why COH won't let me turn on the PhysX support? I have it enabled on the card.
[/ QUOTE ]
That just detects an AGEA PhysX card. Unless you have the old card (which is now legacy) it will be greyed out. You don't need to turn it on in the game if you have NVIDIA PhysX support on your graphics card. Just install the PhysX driver and turn your physics setting up to very high -

I been having trouble with my computer for a few months and i cant figure out the problem, here is a link to my intial post which is how i got to this point.:

My question is how can i tell if its my graphics card or driver that is causing my computer to crash?

Do you get any kind of error message when the game(s) crash? If so, please post the EXACT error message you get, word for word. -

"But she LOOKED 18! Honest!" has never been a valid defense.
[/ QUOTE ]
How can you tell someone 'looks 18' or younger, or older through their CoH character?! I'm confused now...
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, exactly.
You can't.
So you should behave responsibly as a result since you have no way of knowing.
Being unaware does not absolve you of ethical responsibility regardless if it absolves you of legal responsibility or not. What "the rules" are do not matter from an ethical perspective. "Can I get away with it" or "Hey I'm not breaking any rules" are not ethical motivations for behaviors. -

Actually, he did. I said "It's a question of whether or not it's appropriate for an adult to engage a teenager in those activities. I think the general consensus in our society is that it is not. Do you disagree? " He said "when it comes to actual sex, no. When it comes to cybersex, absolutely!".
He disagrees that it is inappropriate for an adult to engage a teenager in cybersex. That's from him directly. Thats not me putting words in his mouth. Go back and read it for yourself.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not to get into yet another heated discussion, as I have my going on, apparently. xD
But Fernandes' response to the statement "It's a question of whether or not it's appropriate for an adult to engage a teenager in those activities. I think the general consensus in our society is that it is not. Do you disagree?" is rather vague. It could be interpreted in a variety of ways, and I think you just interpreted it in a way that was to your advantage. And I don't see anything wrong with it. :P
[/ QUOTE ]
What other way could his REPLY be interpreted in regards to my question. Because his response seems very clear and unmistakeable to me. But I'm willing to hear the "unbiased" interpretation you see. -

With respec to actual sex? No. With respect to cybersex? Yes, absolutely. And the law which you seem to be so fond of agrees with me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Again you fail to grasp my point.
This isn't about the law. I honestly don't know (nor really care) what the law says about that sort of activity.
It's about if it's ethically appropriate or not. Apparently this is an area we disagree. I feel it's irresponsible and unethical for an adult to engage a young teenager in sexual behavior of any kind, including phone sex or cybersex. You apparently do not.
[/ QUOTE ]
Smurch, you're literally putting words in peoples' mouths with your claims. Fernandes never said an adult engage in cybersex or ERP with a minor is ethically and morally acceptable.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, he did. I said "It's a question of whether or not it's appropriate for an adult to engage a teenager in those activities. I think the general consensus in our society is that it is not. Do you disagree? " He said "when it comes to actual sex, no. When it comes to cybersex, absolutely!".

[ QUOTE ]
Two things.
1) By your own definition, the sort of accidental ERP with a minor is not "pseudo-pederasty", as it does not involve pretend sex with a minor. It involves pretend sex with an individual who probably isn't a minor
[/ QUOTE ]
Again, please re-read the actual post being discussed. I said that such behavior was "Pseudo-pederasty AT WORST". Meaning "In the worst case scenario, this kind of thing is pseudo-pederasty". I stand by that statement.
[ QUOTE ]
2) Given the benefit of the doubt some of us have given you with regards to how you characterize people who don't agree with you (Fernandes, specifically)
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not that Fernandes disagrees with me. It's the topic he disagrees with me on that I find troubling. I genuinely wonder at someone's motive for defending an adult's right to engage in cybersex with minors. I think any reasonable person should. It seems a dangerously slippery slope to me AT BEST.
[ QUOTE ]
, you might consider extending similar courtesy to those who make such petty errors are misspelling a word.
[/ QUOTE ]
Petty errors misspelling a word is excusable in almost every case. One case where it is not excusable is when you are doing so when making an attempt to correct someone else's use of said word. At that point, you have invited the self-same scrutiny you have chosen to place another under. -

[ QUOTE ]
I never had this problem before today, so I am equally as flabbergasted.
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay, Mind/Icy. Now I think I see a flaw in your argument - you should be seeing almost no difference at all.
[/ QUOTE ]
The flaw in my argument? It's not an argument. It's my EXPERIENCE. It's not open to debate.
I'm NOT seeing no difference at all. I played this character on Saturday without these issues. So what happened? Why was it fine saturday and sucking wind today?
And before you decide it's just subjective, I came in today expecting great things. I definitely expected it to be easier and faster to kill things (which it was for yellow/orange critters) only to find boss fights drained me down before I could get the boss to die. The LAST thing I expected was to start running out of breath in the middle of a fight.
[ QUOTE ]
Obviously, the issue lies either in a completely different source, not the recent changes to the dom AT.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I am not sure what different source other than the new issue could be effecting things in just a couple of days, but I'm open to that idea. All I can tell you is I played today the same way I played saturday... so why do I suddenly need three Breathers to down one red crey power tank?
