I give out the warning not to do it when I'm leading a league.
I have no problem with doing so. You don't like it? Form your own league.
I don't lead leagues all that often anymore, but that's the way it is. If you're dancing, you're not helping the other team with temp powers, which means you are there, actively playing the game, and actively failing to do your share. -

I have a fire armor scrapper who has nearly that many hitpoints, too.
Sadly, bad build is bad. -
I would also take a look at Stone/Superstrength. Rage's damage buff should help offset the granite penalties.
My wife loves her Shields/Ice, so that could be a possibility as well. -
You don't need the F/C softcap. F/C comprises maybe 10% of the attacks you'll face, and many of those will be dual-typed; ice/smashing or fire/lethal, for example.
Drop fire sword for Incinerate. Drop your redundant travel power prereq of combat jumping for Greater Fire Sword. "But wait!" you say! "That will drop my defenses to unacceptable levels!"
You're ditching the chance for build-up in Invincibility and moving that slot to Resist Physical Damage, where you'll be puttting a Steadfast Res/Def IO. It'll cost you 20 million, and it's +3% defense to all types.
That should put you on the road to something better. Me, if I were you, I'd dump building for F/C defense and get a little more recharge going, but I like to attack a lot. -
I met my wife at a gaming table. And, yes, she was single when I met her.

Quote:Hell, just think of the changes to product packaging - your bag of chips now has lights and plays the Hallelujah Chorus when you open it.This part here sounds pretty cool. As an art director, I see huge potential for printed ads and collateral pieces. Business cards that could charge your cell phone. Ads that illuminated when you turn to their page in the magazine. Though, the amount of junk mail I receive would probably get worse...
The large scale applications of this could be game changing for us, I really hope this takes off.
And this could be huge in developing areas of the world. I read an article about a woman in sub-Saharan Africa who bought some solar panels and started charging her neighbors modest amounts to charge their cell phones, as she lived somewhere without power or phone lines. It completely changed her life and vaulted her into a middle-class lifestyle. Just using them to power lights is huge - you can work during the day and read/educate yourself at night. You could power a water pump with it.
If this lives up to its promises... -
Quote:While science is and should be debated, when the debate comes to "All that science stuff is bunk, because it was cold yesterday..."Wow. you guys are actually gonna have a debate on the Global Warming scam? This should be fun to watch. (grabs popcorn and a REALLY comfy chair)
That's not science, that's trying to ignore facts in favor of personal preference. -
Quote:And I think it's adorable that you think that, too. The 'proof' of which you speak is non-existent and independent reviews have stated that there is no substance to those claims of data manipulation.overwhelming scientific consensus? not even close, and to top it off, all the data from the two major sources has been proven to be falsified or manipulated. it's a political talking point, and nothing else.
Next? -
And I think it's adorable that you dispute the overwhelming scientific consensus without any credentials or evidence to back it up. *shrug* That's neither here nor there.

Quote:The cooling effect of smog does not outstrip the rise in global temperatures caused by carbon emissions.
Which interesting enough could be catastrophic... Temperature is affected by all the smog we produce in cooling way... and as such the rapid greening effect this could cause could be just as bad as not going green at all.
So now we have a balance to strike between going green and not... where as previously we just had to go 100% green or else!
Or, to put it another way: smog has a way of masking how much temperatures are rising. It's worse than we think. And a widespread ability to generate electric power without adding more carbon to the atmosphere would be a good thing. -
Quote:I should point out that slotting GSFC in Rage without any global recharge will result in it being less than perma - you'll want around 30% global recharge if you go that route. Also, putting GSFC in Focused Accuracy does have the additional benefit of having a chance to proc every 10 seconds, as opposed to every two minutes... if you have the end to run FA.I think you're just getting too caught up on the name's of powers, SOs and IO sets.
No one will ever see your IO sets or your SO names, they can only see the bonuses listed.
As for Focused Accuracy, as you can slot GSFC in Rage I implore you to drop Focused Accuracy.
SS/SD is endurance heavy, so you shouldn't be running this, and you certainly wont need any more To Hit or Accuracy bonuses with Rage.
If you want to play on SOs due to cost or personal preference, that's fine.
You will obviously perform much, much better on IO sets - even just franken slotting. -

Quote:*bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*
You can't read 'rapist' into his minimalist actions without reading 'crazy' into hers, if you take their eternal 'conversation' as one and not just a representation of one moment in time.
Nope, try again.
In the first post in this thread, you were talking about how she should be won over by his "idiot charm and persistence."
You do not get to have it both ways.
As to the rest - you are wrong, and incredibly wrong, and if you would like me to educate you as to precisely *why* you are wrong, send me a PM and I'll get you some material. I'll ignore your strawmen for now, thanks.
For now, I'm out of this thread. -
Quote:Conversely, imagine where we might be if Einstein, Tesla, and Marie Curie were still alive and productive? Here's the thing though - if people stop procreating to avoid "over-population" would we become intellectually stagnant as a race?
If this had occurred 150 years ago, and as a result Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison and all the great minds of the 20th century had never been born, would society be as advanced as were are today or would we still be travelling in steam ships and steam locomotives?
If people had stopped aging and dying 1000 years ago, would we ever have made it out of the Dark Ages? -
Quote:No, that's pretty much accurate. He's been hanging around her, trying to chat her up despite her clearly worded "NO!" He obviously has no respect for her boundaries or her "no."So now poor old Desperate guy is looked upon as Take Her By Force Guy!
Harsh lol!
I really don't care for how that story ends IRL. And I hate the very idea that she "has" to be nice to him, simply because of his insistent persistence. That's a cultural narrative that needs to be taken out and put in the trash. She's got every right to choose with whom she associates and is not 'fair game' just because she went out to go dancing.
What you're doing is essentially ignoring her clear words and saying that she really wanted to talk to that guy. This is NOT COOL, and you should never do this in real life. When someone sets a boundary, you respect it. Saying "she really wanted it" is, in fact, blaming the victim and giving blanket permission to desperate guy to pursue her as far as he is willing to do so, without any respect for what she says.
This is an important lesson. -
I hate the D. I never liked the atmosphere in there.
When Pocket D put the Park out of its misery, I missed it. I kept the RP alive within my supergroup, and within my coalition.
My coalition got strained, grew apart, and fell silent. I hit some hard times, and by the time I'd come back, my supergroup had devolved down to near nothing. I tried to revive it, but I have a two-year-old Smershette, a dwindling amount of "primetime" playtime, and...
That's it. I'm still here. My wife and I aren't going anywhere. I miss the Park. Missing it can't bring it back.
But I'll try to make it to the wake.
