Has anyone on union actually come close to getting this yet?
we just missed out with 2 deaths on the final mission on this.
Tonights the night for us i hope
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah that was a really nice run. Let's hope luck is on our side tonight!
Still glad it wasn't me that died.. makes a change -

I would say warburg is more balanced then RV though although I be happy with any.

Fear my inefficient use of webnade, Maxie -

Have to say the weekend was fun when I almost got to kill Dr Infernum and Tabitha when a succubus confused me (I get you next time).
[/ QUOTE ]
So much love... You spent most of that mission just dancing in front of the Succubus wishing to be confused. -
It was good fun, even if I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing!
Thanks all for a fun learning experience. -

Again, totally understand.
But this is kind of illustrating why PvE'ers dont go into PvP zones. We tend not to go all-out to get accolades as soon as possible. Fine, thats our choice. Dosent bother us an awful lot as long as we do a fairly good job in PvE and have a laugh.
As you say, you worked jolly hard for your early accolade - and congrats to you. I can totally understand how you want to keep this.
But, the fact that you have it and I dont (quite deservedly, because thats the choices we made) means that should we PvP you have the upper hand. And I, like most PvE players, dont get a kick out of an unfair fight. Maybe you dont either, but the fact that it WILL be a fight loaded in your favour keeps me away from PvP.
[/ QUOTE ]
You said earlier that you just don't really like pvp... So you really meant that you don't like pvp because you think you will lose against people who have put effort into something? I see where you are coming from in a way and I accept that you may not have been intending to stir trouble but as I said the tone of the original post was a bit ugly.
Yes it's an unfair fight... But mostly because pvpers put effort into learning how to play in a different environment that is quite challenging. Ask that person how they kicked your butt. As TG said, almost everyone in pvp zones will be happy to tell you how to improve and combat their tactics!
Get some accolades, get some friends to help, get some inspirations! I don't go all out for accolades, but I try to be aware of what I have to do while lvling to have certain ones available in situations like being exemped for pvp, tf's... I'm sorry but effort = reward is a common part of life.
Other aspects of pvp need a makeover I agree! That said, removing rewards like accolades and set bonuses is a terrible idea. That's coming from a person who doesn't actually have many accolades or IO's in most zones. The point is, almost anyone can do well in pvp with good tactics, regardless of build/accolades and so on. -
[ QUOTE ]
No intention of punishing you. But the flip side is why should I be punsihed because I decided to wait?
[/ QUOTE ]
Why? Because you had the option to get them as well but you chose to ignore it. There is a solution out there but I don't think stripping people of hard earned shinies is a way to go about it. -
Some decent suggestions there(such as stories) but a lot of what smells like flamebait too... I think you could have written it a bit more tactfully if you wanted those suggestions taken seriously. Sheesh, not everyone in pvp is a foaming at the mouth lowlife with no sense of humor who gets off on repeatedly owning pve'ers.
Yes, pvpers often have pvp builds! Just as you have optimised yours for your pve experience! That is your choice. I also worked hard to get some of my accolades at a lower lvl rather than lvling to 50 and then getting them... Why should I be punished because you decided to wait?
2. I pvp often, I get reasonable share of kills and I don't have invention stuffed builds. I do have a few IO's on some characters but nothing extreme or out of range for pve players. Most of my builds are set up for pve since they are not 50's and because I like retaining a balance.
From what I see most builds can have some use in pvp.. It's not always what you have but how you use it. Try thinking about why you got done, rather than making a fuss that a nasty pvper killed you and that you want them nerfed. -
[ QUOTE ]
People make action. Not the devs. People choose the server they play. Imo moving quickly where the action supposedly is is pretty silly.
[/ QUOTE ]
If it's silly for pvpers to group on one server then you must have a better option for dealing with the dead zones? Sorry but not everyone has the time or the inclination to organise pvp events everytime they want to see some action. We pay for this game and it would be nice to be able to log in and pvp on a whim, after all, most people play to relax. -
Nice link, Shadow..
I've been thinking of making a zombie MM but concept wise i just find them a tad dull... We shall see! -
[ QUOTE ]
- PvP community will be gathered in one server allowing events with much more interest and on a regular basis, PvP arena tourneys could even end up being held at the rates of costume contests.
[/ QUOTE ]
Despite the cost if we had a server where the action was reliable I'd move there in a heartbeat. Union sirens AND warburg were both dead at I think I was 10pm UK time last night :/ That's pathetic, it should be primetime for much of Europe. -

I dont see why some people say stamina is a Must, i personally think its only needed if you PVP as then you need the "stamina" to last a fight..
<snip>
I'm just speculating and gussing that i wont need stamina as i have a +end power. not to mention my imps to do most of the dmg.
Any other questions on the "fire/kin with no stamina?" :P
[/ QUOTE ]
Gah! It scares me. Even with procs and accolades I'm not sure I could handle it.. The end usage is just incredible.
I think it could be done but I'm guessing you would have to sacrifice many slots for end-reductions and pray that transference hits EVERY TIME, which of course it won't.. Also you might find yourself restricted to a much more passive playstyle.
I have stamina, however I run out out of end very quickly if I don't watch my blue bar like a hawk. -
-kb isnt the only reason you get acro, it can be a nice idea to keep it unless all you plan to do is farm. Fulcrum shift can also make Assault somewhat redundant, plus leadership is another drain on your end that you will need to account for. There is no right or wrong build, it's all about personal preferences.
Good luck with it! -
Both SR and spines are great in pve.. I have a Kat/SR and topping up my defense with Divine Avalanche makes me pretty untouchable even without elude. SR is both fun and stylish.
That said, the early road with SR can be tough, watching your regen buddy hit DP and instant healing then shrug off a truckload of aggro, can be frustrating..
I havent found SR to be that incredible in pvp, and I've never had a high lvl spines but I have seen others do very well. Sadly, anything with Aim+BU is going to make you cry - sometimes even in elude I'm afraid.
That said, it's a hoot watching someone with pve slotting trying to hit you and then squealing that you must be in godmode or popping insp. Good fun watching people try and hold you as well... SR's mezz protection is a clicky and it rocks.
Spines/SR will be quite endurance heavy and so you would need to keep that in mind when slotting and when selecting IO bonuses if you plan to use them.
I'd suggest Aid self.. it really can save your skin. It's very easy to use since you dont get interrupted much with SR.
I wanted hasten for recharge so I was kinda forced to take SS since the build with Kat/SR is VERY tight.
I have SJ as well now, but I didnt take it until the 40's. Acro isnt really necessary and it's an added endurance drain. Dont take it unless it's for concept reasons. Edit: taking hurdle might be nice, since you already have quickness in the SR set.
Spines/SR can make a decent stalker hunter I believe, but you would have to build specifically for that purpose.
Have fun with it. -

well we completed the task force even though it took a long time and considering we did not have an empath and played with 7 toons people on the last mission i think we did quite well
thanks to all who participated
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup, thanks for sticking with it folks...
No empath, no stone tank and down on numbers. Well done. -

I would say yes ... gotta be 3 slotted though all heal IO's it gives u a better chance of suvival for a squishy 2ndary set ... Regen does have its uses and can save u a lot but dont rely on it too heavily ... I would get botm Health and Stam ... These two are needed when u get to the high 30's and onwards. Becoz of the nasty critters found in Perry Island
[/ QUOTE ]
Regen? A squishy secondary? I've never heard that one before! Regen is arguably the strongest set for soloing, and it's still pretty good in teams as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
It becomes a squishy if that person teams with no enhancements in their slots.. -
[ QUOTE ]
I suppose Slitty has got a point there, have you tried asking the bounty tying lurker to pop out and get killed, thusly letting the bounty move on
[/ QUOTE ]
Well duh!
Most of the time they are afk though -
[ QUOTE ]
Just to check. Its ok to idle in SC tying up the bounty isnt it?
[/ QUOTE ]
technically perhaps...
VERY VERY annoying. As for badgehunters..
I think time spent in base shouldnt count. (I can already hear the cries of unfair) But really, isnt the point of the badge that you have done your bit in pvp?
-
[ QUOTE ]
Mostly, I've come across a few I'd rather never meet again...
[/ QUOTE ]
sad but true.. Most I meet are pretty nice people and I dont currently have anyone on my global ignore. Rarely If I hook a real cheeseball I'll ignore them for an hour or two until they cool off and move on.
I really cant stand when you get someone in pvp that starts a constant stream of illiterate abuse, cussing at you for just about everything... your pvp technique, your build, your cossie...
"Hi, did I perhaps run over your dog this morning before taking a dump in your cereal??" -
I got ranted at and called a *beep beep beep!* for taking a pill box in Rv the other day. Of course I was meant to have read the mind of the cocky corr that was supposedly going to take out the Av's by himself. Not the first time I've been cussed at and I'm sure it wont be the last.
One thing that irks me sometimes is the *fight clubs* that spring up, especially in sirens. I admit I've *duelled* people there as well but it really kills the zone atmosphere when people just stand around there for hours and get really outraged if you attack them.
I'll usually let a pair do what they want but if it goes on for too long I'm going to interefere.. Why? Because it's much more fun with everyone zipping around! It's NOT harassment, it's a zone for heavens sake. -
[ QUOTE ]
You can't build enough defense/resistance, even with IOs, to survive against any decent PVPer, let alone a team. Your best bet is to pick Hurdle + CJ, SS + SJ, and to keep moving so you won't get hit to start with.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup, i cant count the number of times some stalker has made a tell or broadcast along the lines of "ARRRRGH! WILL YOU PLEASE STOP BOUNCING, YOU FREAK!"
Of course that wont help you *tank*, but they will tend to chase any squishy that appears... for a while anyway. -
I'll come along and help if you dont get enough

@Kim -
Thanks for organising it - I hope you finish off your totals next week!
