Quote:I can get kills against 2 or 3 if I'm on a tank (or maybe MM) and the other players are bad, but otherwise yeah.Fast forward to today, where being outnumbered 3 to 1 or even 2 to 1 usually means you're screwed, and not because you're bad, but because the bar was lowered so much that the other team doesn't even have to try.
Going after the Emp is still my main priority when I see one in zone, but I must be one of the only ones who thinks that, because everyone else is like "hurp durp I can't kill this Blaster because he keeps getting heals, imma QQ in broadcast" instead of making things easier for themselves. -
As long as it's challenging I don't care if the backstory involves Pocket D danceclub fiteklub catgirls invading.

Quote:Betting the Alpha strike is Cole's first wave of his invasion.Ooh, I just saw that they said that the Incarnate system will be "inititally Praetorian focused" - so that surely means the Apex TF must be linked to Praetoria in some way?
Plus, as the picture of him is in the RWZ, that probably confirms it as a co-op TF, rather than twin story-line approach like the KTF.
It also ties in with both the blue and the red sides getting involved on the side of the Resistance. -
Yes this game is super easy, I truly hope that Incarnate arcs/TFs are truly challenging (not tedious like a 250k HP AV, who is still easy).
No I don't think making fitness an inherent makes the game that much easier, but it removes the tedium of wasting 3 powers for some end management (more than half my toons would skip health now if not for stamina) and allows for even more choice in builds.
It's not like toons get fireball and MoG as inherents. Curious to see how this plays out, mostly hoping incarnates is true endgame (yes we have ITF, STF, LGTF, KhanTF, LRSF now but more are needed for variety and true endgame. That and none of them are that hard). -
Quote:i19: what didn't make the August ship date. This is my speculation as well. When the Alpha Slot was pulled, one of the things Posi (I think) said was that they might release it as a mini-issue or something. So I'm guessing that I19 is now the Alpha Slot, the content connected to it, and whatever else is ready for release (tip missions, fitness, etc).
And I'm also guessing that what was planned for I19 has been moved back to I20. If that's the case, then it's good for several reasons. Like, we get I19 earlier than we probably would've before and this would give the devs more time to get the next Incarnate phase ready.
But that's just my speculation. -
My guess is it's the real incarnate abilities beyond the alpha slot.
*Flashes back to in person conversation at PAX East*
Slax: something something incarnates. So what are they?
Positron: They're special abilities
Slax: So powers, extra slots, global slots?
Positron: They are abilities
I got the feeling he'd start spelling A-B-I-L if I asked again and he couldn't be specific so I thanked him for his time and moved on. -
I noticed one day (circa i11) that the biggest issue was folks refusing to ignore the blaster and go after the emp. I was on my fire/em in Warburg with Empire emping and we were rolling teams of 3-5 all afternoon. I didn't die and I don't think they attacked Emp once. Not saying either of us were ever that great but a decent duo can roll a team that refuses to use basic tactics.

That and fossilize only makes tanks zone-capable in a non-fiteklub scenario. In serious arena, they are tauntbots and that's about it.

Quote:It's a far easier fix to find another game to PvP in (I'm only still here for a bit of PvE until my sub runs out, unless Incarnates actually releases and is awesome) than to get the devs to admit their mistakes. Even if they reverted to i12 tomorrow and implemented every bug fix and tweak, etc. it's too late. The segment which i13 was clearly not for was small to begin with and most who have left wouldn't come back now anyway.Ironically, I agree. That is in fact the end of the story until everyone who thinks that is the end of the story either changes their minds or isn't around anymore. I would really prefer the former over the latter, but that is the cold hard truth of the matter.
If you figure out a way to dictate uncompromising terms to the devs on the development of the game, let me know what your secret is. That's far outside my capabilities. What I'm describing is something that might actually work. Take that opinion for whatever its worth.
I've always maintained that the devs' datamining while perhaps well-intentioned is flawed. Everything seems to be aimed for the median player with PvP ignored or worse (see also, i13) and minimal end-game. GR, while somewhat fun, being 1-20 focused only reinforces this (as does the lolzVirtue Pack releasing Soon (TM)).
I've stuck around so long because I enjoyed the game when it first came out, then because of dUmb, now I'm just finishing out my sub and looking for better options. In fairness I've retired more times than Doctor J, so here's a grain of slat to go with this post. -

Necro is the worst MM set (or maybe mercs), poison should be great for duels but with necro, you'd need pain, therm or dark just to keep your pets alive.

Dear Forums,
Please stop "fixing" my ************* caps -

It wouldn't be that hard.Just need a good leader and a bit of buffage.

More a classic case of "o noes lets fix a badge sploit" instead of something useful like the copy tool.

According to some crap I just made up, PvP will be fixed again in i20. It will involve trading cards and incarnates will get extra cards. Psoma will have the only well rationed response but will re-read this post and subsequently yell at me for 2 hours straight on vent for giving the devs this idea.
