I know this will be a ridiculously stupid question. Are +damage powers like fulcrum shift tagged unresistable then?
  2. Then create a whole new temporary power called Portable Worktable that isn't?
  3. I mean, come on.

Or possibly as a paragon reward? Really, with the portable vault, and auction house on demand...

I understand all the hard work folks have gone through to get the bloody thing, but I would hope these folks would be okay with such a thing.
  4. NA is pretty fresh, so advice on synergies may be a while coming. Could even keep us updated here.

As long as nature is very busy, you should be good okay. I really like traps and storm for mm secondaries because they both play very aggressively. There is always something for you to do, either positioning, or setting up to do some damage. Wish I had more for you.

Because one is tired of waiting for a team and does not have the energy to form and lead one? Or, you know... because they want to. What's it to you?

Why would one have to conceptually stay true to the name of the set? Should all the blood, oil, whatever blasters recolor their powers back into water?

Besides absorb pain, I don't really see much in the set that screams emotional support... Even that is a stretch.

  8. You are just too über. Pretty sure the devs intended for it to be used when your pets die in combat, never expecting players to get to a point where the pets don't actually die... It's a shame that you need to kill your own pets in order to use this power.

Can you use detonator at least if running traps?

    Right.

On defense however it is more luck than statistics. As an SR scrapper I can say doing same mission with same parameters can have so much different result it is not even funny. On one run you could easily finish mission with just your attack chain and not using anything else (including hasten, end or heal mitiogations etc) on another run even though you used your inspirations you may end up dead on first boss.
    Right.

-dam works like resistance therefore adding it as a second mitigation to defense than adding it on a resist character may seem work better. Especially for a character at resist cap -dam won't be as effective as its original values. However -dam works on all front so it is still good to cover that psi, toxic or whatever hole in your resist character has.
I am not sure how exactly it favors defence over resistance. Even at the resistance cap, -damage will add to the mitigation of a resistance based toon. It may take absurd levels, but it will. At the defence softcap, any more defence based mitigation(like -tohit) is basically pointless besides covering def debuffs.

-damage will also add to the mitigation of defence capped toons even if they are at the softcap.

I like -damage because it brings extra surviveability no matter what. I also like being able to say I can give a resistance capped toon 99% psuedo resistance. However, I guess I need to change that to just plain old mitigation now... Definately less sexy...

    Quote:
Actually -tohit is same as +def except it works for everyone that target attacks. Since it is actually a math like (tohit-defense)*acc that checks attack while for damage received it is dam-(dam*resist/100) so -dam and resist are two different mitigations but -tohit and defense are on same mitigation. Now if it was -acc it would be another story.
That is my understanding as well.

I think the one reason why it is better to build for -dmg on top of def softcap is because the softcap is much easier to hit for just about any build, where the resistance cap is not.

So you could theoretically (although I believe this is impossible without a specific team build) floor your enemies to 10% damage and also have 90% resistance (on certain ATs), but this is basically the same as having 90% resistance and 45% defense.
It is also basically the same thing as having 99% resistance.

I understand what you are saying. I guess maybe it should become the norm to state how much mitigation one has instead of breaking it into resistance, defence, -tohit and -dmg...

Call it what you want, but being able to use -dmg to bring you beyond the resistance cap is a little more interesting than building -tohit on top of defences.

Of course building for both makes one very sturdy.

  13. 1. Convert your Pvp drop into something worth 300m+ and sell it.
    2. Buy 2 purple recipes for 150m each.
    3. Craft and Convert into damage very rares, sell one and slot one.
    4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until build is complete.

The... Whatever it was is gone now. Soon as mention it it stops. I am okay with that. Thanks Agg.

    Forum help.

    Howdy folks.

First off, not sure if this is the best place to post this, so if there is a better place, let me know.

I usually peruse the forums on my iPad. A couple days ago, the forums started displaying the coh freedom badge everywhere. Before every thread in the index, and before every post in a thread. Kind of like every post has a city of heroes freedom letterhead.

It is also giving me the option to add it to my posts as a post icon...

Has anyone else experienced this, and better yet, how the f does one make it stop?

    Thank you for your time...

Having to change the name of the set from Empathy to Selfishness isn't?

I don't think you are unreasonable at all. I think you are capable of better arguments than this...

Would you enjoy queueing up a power like Short Circuit and getting hit with a confuse effect just before it fires, resulting in it draining YOUR endurance.....instead of the entire group of enemies you were standing in the middle of?

PBAoEs would hit YOU when confused.

A Confused Mastermind who clicks Nearest Target->Attack my target would have his own pets instantly gank him. That would make participating in a BAF very painful for them.

It would also very likely cause bugs that make your attacks hit you even when not confused. Remember the bug on Blaster Burn that caused it to damage you when you placed the Burn patch? Imagine random bugs cropping up all the time that make, say, your tier 9 nuke useless because it hits you too.

And all that is on top of having to change the name of Empathy to Selfishness.
Like all the random bugs that instead of damage your target, heal them instead? If we are so worried about introducing bugs we should probably stop introducing any new powers and sets at all. Sound good? Or should we let the same process of finding and quashing bugs that has worked for the last 8 years handle this too?

I run a traps toon on the baf all the freaking time. Guess how many times I have been killed by my own trip mines, or been killed by my lore pets...

C'mon Claws, this is a little thin. Just because people want to target themselves doesn't mean they are all of a sudden not interested in supporting teammates. You are better than this hyperbole.

I have seen someone put up a really good build but had difficulty surviving due to not knowing how to play them and was not good for there play style. The last time I did a BAF on my FA tank i was taking out the canisters for acids by myself with out dieing while the inv tank with the rest of the team kept dieing. I have also seen other ppl do the same on there tanks. Back t what I was saying it is all in your play style, and how u build it to suit your needs, and play style.
Notice I said word on the street. Not my word.

My fire/traps corr can solo gather temps in a lambda too. That doesn't mean it is more survivable than a tank.

Seeing as I have experience with both fire(first 50) and shield, my experience is that shield is tougher than fire.

Just to pull your chain a bit... If you were tanking, is it your normal playstyle to solo canisters while your teammates are dying? I kid.

Op: Elec is a great choice. Waiting for spines to be ported before I roll one up.
  22. Word on the street is invulnerable followed by willpower or dark, followed by everything else with fire taking last.

I like Shield. Positional softcap. To iSoftcap if you want. 80+ ddr. Excellent taunt aura. Decent resistances before ato proc. Have hit 80%+ sm/l with the proc.

Drawback... No self heal. Pair with DM if that is a concern. Alternately, there is always rebirth.

Held and maintained aggro on 15 monster island gm's on this toon. That's tough enough for me. I do have a stoner, but there is never, never any NEED for that level of survivability, especially on teams.
  23. There is no wrong way to slot it but not getting hit trumps a heal any day. Especially when you are getting healed whether you are getting hit or not...
