Angry Citizen craks me up. I love his discussions on the topic.
I have a spines stalker. My sg mate has a claws one. We're both built around tagging opponents with our ranged attacks while the corrupters following us scourge them out. Impale definitly has a much more significant range then focus. That said, focus is more easily spammable.
Both sets are quite good, and I don't think you can go all that wrong. It's primarily a matter of taste, go with whatever you prefer. -
maybe if they fixed the bug that allowed stalkers to AS through quicksand and other debuffs that use to interrupt it, they wouldnt need to leave this bug in the game as a "balance" fix.

Stalkers are already considered over-powered in PvP, and it's not exactly fair that only melee toons have/had a chance against stormers.
You show me a villain AT that can shoot a stormer down with a ranged attack in the ammount of time it takes for that villain to be singled out and targetted by multiple blasters/scrappers and trollers/defs with holds.
The damage done by that person wouldn't have been enough to kill the stormer before they are killed by the stormers teamates.

You're actually hitting on a much bigger issue the devs still need to address, the disparity between unbuffed hero and villain damage output. In that case, it's not whether you were attacking a storm that makes the difference. In other words, show me a Villain AT that can routinely take down a tank or scrapper with ranged attacks?

I think the bigger issue is why should 1 villian be able to kill a hero faster then that teams 5 or 6ish players are able to coordinate to take out that villain.
How ridiculous a request is that?
How come I can't kill you faster then the 6 of you can kill me?
Is that a reason to nerf hurricane?
How many of the people whining for hurricane nerfs have their Aim's or Build-ups with 3 tohit buffs in them? How many of the people whining for hurricane nerfs thought the pinnacle of strategy was to all huddle together as closely as possible? How many of the people who wanted hurricane nerfed bothered to change anything when their initial attempt to combat hurricane failed?
The only problem I saw with the old hurricane was that the -range debuff from multiple hurricanes stacked. -
Castle has stated that he thinks aid self is too good.
Castle has also stated that it is not getting nerfed in I7 - obviously, anything is subject to change.
I don't think it's getting nerfed anytime soon - but I wouldnt be shocked if its recharge gets lengthened eventually. -

Your missing the one important reason that Fly actually IS beneficial.
Against inferior competition, flying targets get attacked significantly less. Most of the people out there, not on freedom or test, qualify as inferior competition. Not saying it's worth taking fly over your build, but just thought I'd put that out there.
Also - on Adrenaline Boost:
Adrenaline Boost with 0 end mod: Blaster booms, no endurance recovery.
Adrenaline Boost with 1 end mod: Blaster Booms, some endurance recovery.
I find it beneficial to slot AB 3 recharge, 2 heal, 1 endmod.

The majority of virtue doesn't even know to harass the emp.
I play my emp defender in sirens all the time, and while I often have some form of stealth (usually just the pool power stealth, rather than granted or grouped invis), it's rare for me to be harrassed and killed. Hell, its rare for me to be attacked in the first place, and even rarer for me to be hunted down once the realize what I am.
The majority of the playerbase goes for the easy target, rather then the important ones.
Rather skilled at crying nerf when they play poorly and lose as a result, however.
And while I speak negatively of the average skills i see on virtue, I don't think any server other then freedom has managed to best virtue in an cross server events. -
It would be nice if the PvP forum was for people who liked to fight, rather than for people who liked to argue. Mieux clealry likes to argue.
Kins are amazing. I know when my SG hits a pvp zone, it's pretty mandatory that we bring at least 1.
As for the survivability of a kin, well, it's not great - relyingo n that powerset to keep you alive is very "hit and miss" - ya, double entendres. But teammates, the people the kin is buffing, do a wonderful job. People who think Kinetics is not a pvp powerset are short sighted and foolish.
As for assasin strike, I don't see any need for any changes other than the incoming one shot fix.
And as for this thread, it's full of stupidity. Straw man arguments and pissing contests solve nothing. -
The only problem I've seen with stormers and hurricane is from multiple applications of the -range debuff.
As Far as I can see it, whatever 1 application is, should be the floor. No stacking of the -range debuff. -
I fail to see how it's fair to stand right next to someone running 2 +perception powers, and not have them being able to see you.
I know my stalker doesn't need that kind of advantage to do quite well in pvp. -
Watch your combat tab.
When you activate a power, you get a "activating<power name>" message. Then there is a message that either "<power name> missed" or <You hit with <power name> for xxx.xx amount of damage".
With this bug, you get no message after the activating message. You activated the power. The game used your endurance and you performed the animation, and the power needs to recharge. But the game never even checked to see if you hit or miss.
So it's not a "miss" per say. And if you count your hits vs. your misses, you wont see the problem. Think of it as failed activations of cone attacks.
Sorta like a Shaq shooting a free throw. If the ball hits the floor having passed through the hoop, it's a hit. If the ball hits the floor having NOT passed through the hoop, it's a miss. If the ball disapeers in mid-air, then you have this bug. -

Encourage teaming, put more trials in the game. The respec trial, the eden trial, the sewer trial are all unique expereinces in this game that show off what you devs are capable of and give magnificent group experiences. More please. Much more! -
You might want to fix your reference to siphon speed in the powers section. It got muddled with Speed Boost on you.

As a gravity controller, I'd kill for the amount of control that a Mind controller has.
Any chance of a glance at the Gravity powerset? Or explanation why it's nuke (propel) has significantly lower DPS then brawl and it's activation times are terrible acrosss the board? -

They have listened, and lower its difficulty. Multiple times if I recall. It certainly is easier now then when I first did it. And the devs listened and changed the trick or treat evenet. It seems to me they listen quite a bit.

Last time i tried it, it was a cake walk for my team. We had a tank with no provoke, a spines/dark armor scrapper, a regen scrapper, and I was the empath. And let me tell you, with extra slots in things like recall friend, resurrect, and mental blast and subdue(which is a terrible power anway), my build was far from optimal. Besides, no one NEEDS to do respec? And some people actually appreciate the different and challenging content and like doing the TV trial multiple times.

If your not a min-maxer, why do you need to change your powers? why does the game stop if you don't complete the respec trial? Do your contacts stop giving you missions? Do mobs on the street stop giving you xp? Stop being overdramatic. The game goes on.
The respec trial is not particularly hard, and the reward is not particularly necessary. DEAL.
