  1. you should have gotten an email. a ticket is a good way to start, and there is a number to call in the support section of the main website page.

The use of IOs has gone a long way in making the environmental changes not as pre-empting as they would be without them, yet current trends which include mobs now with superior accuracies, greater emphasis in negating defense, insta-on your face-spawns with the use of spam status effects is now eroding the benefit of IOs.

Ironically, in the past TFs I participated in, many a player have commented on the team being heavy melee built, each time I looked it was mostly filled with Scrappers, and Tanker/Brute; in general I'm finding at least 5 out of the 8 players being melee, a single MM, and then variations of ATs for the last 2 slots, often debuffers. If the game was indeed balanced, would we not see a more even distribution of ATs in teams?

It would be an interesting statistic to keep up with team compositions, and see if any class is over-represented and if any class is under represented. It may also be interesteing to see if the over-represented class has a "flavor of the month" trend to it as well...

For myself as the game keeps evolving into a massive status effect fest and insta "on your face" spawn, I find myself enjoying it less and less my support alts; and as a result I play them even less; when I do play them now, is more likely out of sentimental reasons or I am trying to get some badges for them.

    Stormy
stormy, not to insult you in any way, but did you read the book that came with the game? or pay attention to any thread dealing with this issue? it states that not every AT can solo. and there is no reason to make any changes because of what people decide to play. it is their descision. some teams only want certain AT's which is fine, others go for a more diverse selection which is also fine. there are no changes that needs to be made.

lets put it this way, trials can be 1 player and can yield 1-8 merits, a single run of one AE mission disallows you to earn more than a certain number of tickets for the map (usually 1500 to 2000 tickets/200=7-10 merits) that's it, then you have to do another run. mind you that takes about 3 hours to solo on most tanks.

secondly, math; lets talk raw numbers, so you can use reward merits to buy a recipe worth 100 million inf, maybe even 200-300 million inf on a good day. thats costs 160-300 merits, thats alot of merits.. at the rate above, that would take a good tank (160 merits/10 per run x3 hours a run= 48 hours for 160 merits)

so at the rates of buying AE tickets above, 200 tickets per merit really isn't that appalling.
you honestly do not know what you are talking about. if it is taking you 3 hours to run 1 mission with a tank, then you are doing it wrong. and giving out 10 merits for 1 mission is a very bad idea. plain and simple. this idea is something that is not needed.
  4. ah... ok then. so it adds to the hold rather then canceling out. effectively raising the mag of the hold. i can see using it then. i never have though. i might look into it now.
  5. for a level 50, it is doubled when you exemplar.

For example, take the Dual Blade powerset, the powertray icons are highlighted for its combo system, why not do the same for proc io's? I think it would be awesome to know exactly when the proc is active on a power. For total domination with a Lockdown chance for hold, knowing when that IO is active would be a great help. The same can go for Devastation on a ranged power and other Proc IO's. What do you all think?
devastations proc already does this kind of. it has the ball o'lectricity around the enemy when it goes off. and total domination is already a hold. i never could see the reason for putting a hold proc in a hold power. nor sure if it has a visual effect if it goes off, but imho it is kind of redundant in a hold power.
  7. get the field crafter badge. that way you have the table to use mid mission if you run out. i drop anywhere from 3-7 temps per mission most times. on teams it makes for a fun mini game of hot potatoe. we pass it around until we exit the mission. last person with it keeps it.
  8. stormy, AT's have the vunerability they do because it makes sense. that is never going to change. sorry to tell you. there should never be "normalization" across the at's.

i think it's time for you to stop whining ian. i have never really had any problem with DE quartz at all on my SR. of course, you could always employ the pull them back away from the emenators after they spawn them routine.

Most people who farm tickets spend them on silver or bronze rolls instead (and my own experience supports this strategy). Similarly with merits it's generally considered that random rolls are, over time, more profitable than direct buys. By setting the price in the 200-300 range it means that the conversion is only beneficial to people who are planning direct buys (since with rolls you could spend fewer tickets directly) or using them to buy A-Merits (which are time limited anyway).

The time aspect is not a convincing argument to me. Let's say you farm up the 48,000 tickets necessary to direct buy a LotG 7.5% (using 200 tickets = 1 merit). With that amount you could already buy 88.9 pieces of rare salvage, 685.7 bronze rolls (level 30-34 or 35-39) or 13.7 gold rolls (level 30-34). Even taking the rare salvage option (a reliable but low profit item) and selling them for 1.6million each (in the middle of their standard 1-2million price range) you would get 140.8 million which is about what you'd get for the LotG 7.5%. If you converted the 48,000 tickets to merits and did direct rolls there you'd only get 12 rolls so that's clearly a loss as well.

Even at 200 tickets = 1 merit I don't see the conversion as being a better option than spending the tickets directly. The A-Merit conversion is a little trickier. It enables people to do that solo more easily. I don't think it would be game breaking though since those are time-locked most people who farm merits or tickets are going to have more than they can convert to A-Merits anyway.

Personally I agree with Bill that it isn't really needed however if it was implemented I think 200 merits would work fine as a price (alhough I'd probably set it to 250 to make spending the tickets on bronzes more appealing).

I realize that this is hyperbole but think about what that actually means. The earning power from being able to convert 250-300 tickets to merits is not out of line with the current options for directly buying items with tickets as I think my analysis above indicates. Yet despite that the AE is not the most popular method of farming. I really don't see how adding merits to the purchase option for tickets would make AE farming the most popular option unless the price was significantly lower than 200.
sorry adeon, i can not get behind the 250-300 tickets = 1 merit either. it takes less then 3 mins to get that amount of tickets which is under the 6 min = 1 merit conversion the devs have going now. there is no need to be able to purchase merits.

I see no reason to have to buy reward merits. No, not everything dumps 50+ merits on you. Doesn't mean farming AE should suddenly be rewarded again.

250-300 tickets? Might as well give everyone 10 merits every time they log in.

    i third this.

  13. it's not a bug. you have to call to get the mission.
  14. vel, he's not asking about recovery. he's asking about end points.
  15. you have to be lv 35 to get to cim. you come out of prea at lv 20. wouldn't work.

and another vote for anything bacon....
  16. the powers are wai. this is per castle. in fact, sc was just changed to perform the way it was intended to from the begining.

i wouldn't pretend you know how hard or easy it would be to code something.

  18. don't be so hasty and make sure that you have the mission.

I'd also like to see bacon added to the game. Perhaps as part of the incarnate sytem. Eat bacon, get more powerful. Maybe it could be a new tier 4 insp.

PS: I only expect half of this post to be taken seriously. I'll let you guess which half. :P
    it's the bacon half..... right???
  20. 1. while a nifty idea, i don't see it being needed. also to buggy.

    2. you be better off trying to find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. also, we can already store recipes in the form of crafted enhancements in the base. and if you are talking about costume, temp or respec recipes, we can now email them to any body. even ourselves.

    3. even if you started in preatoria, your group would still have to wait until you hit lv 20 at least to get into that sg.

    possibilities?

you honestly can not go by the numbers in mids. it does not account for resistances enemies will have against damage types. and 30-40k sounds a little high for 1 min. also remember that not all foes will be effected by mez's, so you must have some form of def/resist in your build. more then what you get from a shield.
  22. /unsigned. if it got added to power sets, we would lose either aim or build up. and archery already has a built in swap ammo type. it's called different types of arows. look at the set. also, how would you swap ammo on a sword? or a club? or an axe? and what about psi, or dark, or energy....? the list goes on and on. i get what you mean, but i just do not see it as being something i would want.
  23. no one knows. we only know what we have been told. and those that do can not talk about it.
