Even though we failed, I still quite enjoyed the run. I was on Mr. E-Man's team that Saturday. I logged in a few minutes late (a previous engagement took a lot longer than I had hoped >_>).
It was great teaming in a Freedom Horde event again. I've been away from CoH a little this past few months.
I also learned that Ninja Run is considered a temp power during Master TF runs. I almost had to go sprinting across Peregrine Island. lol. Thankfully someone TP'ed me. ^_^;
Oh, and I finally got the last epic Influence Badge with this TF, the Leader badge. \(^o^)/ I don't farm influence, so it's pretty big for me that I'm finally finished with that line of badges.
Looking forward to another try at the MoKahnTF someday. -
Had a great time on Kotchie's team. And yup, we got the MoLGTF badge.

As mentioned by Talen, us /SR's can only slot the Steadfast unique using Tough.
But as mentioned by others, if you're asking about plans for your character's future and softcapping him (I'm assuming you mean when you reach end game). Then there are many ways to soft cap an /SR... without a Steadfast unique.
I for one don't have the Fighting Pool and the 3% Steadfast unique. But I'm still softcapped. /SR being a defense set is one of the easiest to do so. So you have lots of options in how you wanna do it.
You don't have to take Tough for your end game build, if you don't want to. ^_^ -
Wait... there's a badge for this? I don't remember seeing that in recent I-17 patch notes. O_O
I'll try to be online by 6 PM eastern. I'll be on my main, Shadowrush Level 50 MA/SR Scrapper. Global is @Shadow-Rush. If there's still space left that is. -
Hehe, yeah. Taking a little bit of a break from STO. Will be focusing on CoH again. I'll be back to sharing my game time 50/50 with both games come July, for Going Rogue (COH) and Season Two (STO). But for now, I'm mostly back here.

Hiya E. Sign me up on the alternates list. Still don't have this badge. I'll be using Shadowrush. ^_^
-
Definitely congrats to Turg!
And a personal thanks to him as well from me, I wouldn't even have been mentioned in the article if he hadn't recommended my arcs to the author. ^_^ -
Hiya E! I'd like to join this one as well with Shadowrush.
I'll try to be on time this time. ^_^; -
I had a fun time last night. The run was practically pretty smooth throughout and well planned out. I learned a few things on more ways to do the ITF, thanks to last night's run.
I came a bit late last night, came from a Halloween event, which took a bit longer to get out off. Hehe. (I think I was also full of sugar last night from the leftover candies that we weren't able to give away, I think I was grinning the whole night.)
Thanks so much E for running the MoITF, and a successful one at that! I remember the old days of trying to go for MoSTF when it first came out. Took many tries before finally getting the badge. So it was great running with everyone last night. ^_^
On a side note... with this, it's my 666th badge and on a Halloween night too. I'm not really superstitious, but I found it funny. O.o -
Ha! Thanks Luna. Didn't expect a thread here too.
Turg: Thank you. Yup, it was a long time coming. I must say, your dev's choice arc was one of my first inspirations.
I have to admit, at first I wanted a Dev's Choice arc because of the badge (when it had a badge), but then I realized, even when they took out the badge, I still wished for it. It seems it was the hope of ones work being recognized and wanting to tell stories that ended up driving me to keep working on my arcs, than just for a badge.
But that doesn't mean I'll stop being a badge hunter. -
O_O
Thank you so much!
I... I was really surprised when I first received the news that Pandas vs. Rikti was going to be a Dev's Choice. I've spent countless hours designing, editing, adjusting, balancing, and playtesting. I wouldn't have done it without all the feedback from people (both in-game or in its arc thread in this forum) during its testing phase. So thank you to everyone that did.
Dr. Aeon: Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it! *Just a little correction on the thread title though, my global is actually @Shadow-Rush ^_^; -
Hi E! I'd like to join as well, with Shadowrush Level 50 MA/SR Scrapper!
We'll all have a scary time trying not to die this Halloween! ^_^
-
Hi everyone. I've decided to share the first ever fully colored art I've ever gotten for my main character, Shadowrush. It's an art prize by Projectionist, from his Mission Architect contest a few months back, where one of my arcs, Pandas vs. Rikti (68930), was one of the winners.
He even inserted some of the Pandas into the Tsoo tattoos. It was a pleasant surprise.
Oh and here's his Art Page. Thanks so much Projectionist!
-
Oh wow, I have #2 and #7 in one of my arcs. I didn't enter any of my arcs in the contest though. Didn't know about the contest. Been kinda busy playing another NCSoft game lately. <_<
But I would like to congratulate all the nominees! Good luck to you guys and gals. -
Gah, sorry for missing this one last night. I didn't get to login at all for a few days, got a head cold and have been falling asleep early. I signed up as an Alternate and had no idea a 3rd team was formed.
I'll try to catch the next MoITF, whenever you guys give it a try again. And congrats to Mr. E's team. -
I was wondering when you were gonna do this E.
And, looks like I'm late to the party again. List me down as an alternate. Shadowrush needs the shiny new badge. -
Heya E!
I'd like to join as well, as Shadowrush, but it looks like you've filled two teams already. List me down as an alternate, I'll be available on Wednesday in case someone drops. -
Those are really incredible Cashoo!
Bah, I haven't been visiting the forums much lately. Looks like I'm very late into catching this thread.
But if you're still looking for more characters to draw, I'd like to put up my main character, Shadowrush:
Oh and another pic is his wallpaper in my signature.
He's a kind of mysterious fellow. He belongs to a family line, whose genes give one child every other generation amazing abilities. He's an expert martial artist and has superhuman reflexes and agility. He also has some minor enhanced physical attributes overall: minor super strength, speed and toughness. He also has the ability to jump a short building in a single bound. He also has a few gadgets on hand: a medkit, flashlight, his trusty high-tech gauntlet that helps deflect lethal attacks from blades and such, which also contains his communications and teleportation devices, and he also has a few different kinds of shurikens.
Shadowrush is a dark-brooding hero at times, looking over the city at some rooftop. He knows it's kind of cliche, but he doesn't care, he loves doing it. But he also has a lighter side to him and would sometimes throw out a witty remark during a fight.
I know you're probably filled with requests with the amazing art you've posted, but I just had to try and hopefully Shadowrush will get picked someday. -
I try to keep only one character that I "uberize", and that's basically my main, my MA/SR scrapper (the guy in my avatar and sig). I don't know how much I've spent on him, and still continue to do so (he still currently lacks one more purple IO set). I don't farm for influence, so keeping it to just one is good enough for me. And as long as the devs keep putting in more ways to improve a character in future Issues/Patches, he's probably the only character in my roster that will never be really complete, as he keeps improving along.
As for my alts, I just give them generic IO's, and every now and then, a unique or proc IO that helps their build. And they run well enough. The game, as I believe it, is still balanced around SO's, so my alts already do well with IO's that have better than SO numbers.
As for the OP's topic: I say you are already good to go with the way you described your scrapper. If you're happy with it, then there's no real need to "uberize".
Keep on scrapping! -
Here's an update:
After a few more feedback and suggestions, I've decided to change a few things:
- Removed the custom Family critters. The whole arc now only uses normal Family mobs.
- And thus, the arc's level range is now set at 20-29 (the usual level for the Family on the heroside).
- Due to the overall lower, and more focused, level range (as well as my goal in keeping the arc solo-friendly even at these levels) the final boss has been adjusted to Boss instead of Elite Boss. (At these earlier levels, it's difficult for some to solo EB's)
- And because of the above, the optional Ally is adjusted as well, from Boss to Lieutenant.
- Bobby Red has been turned into a Lieutenant as well.
- The two objectives in the final mission are now chained, since previously it didn't make sense that it was possible to finish the second objective without the first, due to how the story progresses and ends.
I've tested the arc again with my usual battery of play-thrus with different AT's, and it should be pretty balanced and solo-friendly for the 20's. I think this will overall help improve the arc, and not to mention, make the Family's involvement and power-level make more sense with the story.
Thanks again for those who have played the arc and those that have given feedback and comments. -
Thank you Venture for your review on "The Missing".
I've had a couple of suggestions from other people as well recently, on removing the faux Family mobs I inserted, and just let the arc have a natural level range in accordance to the usual Family mob level range. At the time, when I first made this, I always had the idea of creating arcs that level 50's could do without being exempted down. Mostly because I wanted a wider audience. But I have decided to move pass that. I'll be following your suggestion.
As for Shadowrush (heh, I really should add a bio to his contact version in this arc, I keep forgetting that I-15 gave us a new feature for that), he was roughly initially inspired by three fictional characters, Neo, Spider-Man, and yes... Batman. But he is quite different from all three in many ways. His personality is quite similar to my own, and he is basically my avatar in the CoH world. I admit I am a Batman fan, and I wanted to do a noir, dark, drama mystery type of story arc, in the same vein as Batman stories, when I was writing this. As well as show an episode in the life of Shadowrush.
As for Charlsetin being an Expy (I actually had to research what this word meant, never heard of it before) of Leslie Thompkins, I honestly did not think of her while I was doing this. I got an idea for her character from a real-life person.
Charlestin is a scientist, while Leslie was a medical doctor, if I remember correctly. But you are right, that in this story arc they do serve a similar part as to who they are to Shadowrush and Batman respectively. Heh, I didn't even realize that. But it was never my intention though.
I'm not sure how else to improve the arc though, aside from removing the faux Family mobs, reducing the level range, and adding the contact bio. Shadowrush and Charlestin are important to the arc, so I can't really rewrite or remove them. As for Shadowrush being an Ally in the end, he needs to be there for the story, but I wonder if there's some way to lessen his impact. He used to be an Lt., but for balance reasons, people suggested to have him be a Boss to be able to help the player against the EB, and I do agree with them. I could reduce White Shades to a boss, but it would degrade his status in all things within the story. So any suggestions on this would be great.
Would you be willing to re-rate the arc with the changes in the first sentence in the previous paragraph? Or will it not make a difference to the rating? Heh, you don't have to of course. I'm just glad you got to review it. Well, looks like I have some adjustments to do with this arc, thanks again Venture. -
I'm not sure if I'm known for anything. But I am a Scrapper at heart that sometimes like looking for challenges to test my main character, Shadowrush, a level 50 MA/SR. I've spent many nights researching, designing, and tinkering with Shadowrush's build. Figuring many different ways to softcap him and increase his DPS, while still retaining his concept.
I was one of the first few people that finished BillZBubba's version of the RWZ Challenge. I'm also an AV soloist at times and have done so with no temps nor inspirations, but not many with those exact restrictions (half of my AV soloing involved a few inspiration use). With some advice from fellow scrappers, including Werner, I've also used Shadowrush to solo a Rikti Pylon, took me about 30-40 minutes, but I did it. I've also been known to help a few new scrappers with answers to their questions and ways to improve their builds, whether for power or concept, or both.
As for some non-scrapper stuff, I'm a big badge hunter, and have sometimes been known to pull-off miracles in TF's or Trials (like defeating the Crystal Titan in the Eden Trial for my team, when I was the only one left standing). And... I don't know if anyone remembers, I was the first guy to make a giant robot in his base and posted screenshots in the Base Forums. -
Hehe, same here. It feels so new and strange, but I'll get used to it.
