180k players * 4 characters * 1kB additional bio = 720 000 kB = 703.125 MB
Or to look at it from another angle: how much space do you need on your servers to make sure that your current players will always be able to buy more character slots? Assuming there are about 90k people who are likely to be interested in the game, adding another 1024 chars to the bio field requires reserving another 34GB (on top of whatever is currently set aside for future character creation).
90k players * 11 servers * 36 characters * 1kB additional bio = 35 640 000 kB = 34804.68 MB = 33.98 GB
Even not accounting for the potential problems with messing around with a database (the CoH character database is an in-house format, there's no telling how easy or hard it would be to expand one of the fields), that's a lot of disk space to set aside just so a few people can express how awesome their character is a little better.
If everyone who has posted here can chip in $5 we can buy them a hard drive that can handle the load? -
I've been running 0/x4 and now that my build seems to be fleshing out I'm planning on increasing the difficulty.
Increasing the amount of mobs would definitely increase drops but would increasing the level of the mobs do anything for the drops or just simply make the mission harder? -
So alternate suggestions I've seen include
1) Set encounter to -1/1
2) Be sure to use Inspirations
3) Use envenomed dagger and ignore his regeneration
4) Drag him to the lava
5) Have a pet (Shivan/Backup Radio) help
6) Make a small team
Seems like some solid advice when playing a character you are having trouble soloing with. Combining two or more of these pieces of advice would really trivialize this content. -
Depends on what you are fighting. The soft cap measures the cap for white con minions unless I'm mistaken. If you regularly fight a significant amount of bosses/+4 minions/AV's/Giant Monsters/TF's/PvP then it should be helpful

I was away from COH for a long time so please excuse the ignorance to what I'm sure are simple questions.
1) Where is the hero merit vendor? I've found a ton of merit vendors but never seem to be able to find a H-Merit vendor
2) I've heard I can convert regular merits to Hero Merits. Is this true? Where do I do it?
3) Is there an up to date wiki site for this game? I found a COH wiki but it seems out of date and hasnt been updated since 2009 -
