  1. I'm currently running D&D Encounters at a local comic store and 4E or the latest Gamma World every so often at home.

    As to non-current stuff, I have 5 bookshelves and some garage storage of RPG stuff, most of which I've run and some of which I've been a player for. Off the top of my head Shadowrun (all editions), Gamma World (most editions), D&D (most editions and settings, especially Dark Sun), Dark Heresy, Heroes Unlimited, Twilight 2000, Marvel (TSR, Saga, and Marvel's), World of Darkness (old and new, though I don't like the new), Stargate SG1, Champions, Serenity, Star Trek (Last Unicorn and Decipher), Prime Directive, Star Wars (WEG and WotC), Top Secret, Gangbusters, Star Frontiers (wish they would bring that back), TMNT, Doctor Who (?FASA? and the new one), Paranoia, Robotech, Battlestations (sort of an RPG depending on how you use it), Ghostbusters, and Mouse Guard (based ont he comic). Probably a few I'm forgetting and there is some more stuff I picked up on an impulse and never used (like the Supernatural RPG and some wierd independent stuff). Also some board game things like Kobolds Ate My Baby and Car Wars. And wargame stuff like Warhammer 40k (though the miniatures for that are in a seperate section of storage).

    I'm sort of obsessed.

    My wife has been experimenting with creating foxes by skipping the wolf and instead using the cat heads. The big cats can slider adjust to get long / short / narrow enough to have sort of a long mouth and with the very pointy ears and good pattern color selections they look fairly convincing from a distance.

    Devs Top Ten

    Pocket D: In one package provides a transportation hub, a place for occasional holiday events, a designated zone for people to actually talk in character (even if they get sort of creepy at times), and a solid place for multiple npc groups to have members show up and just dance.

    I'd be happy with just the ability to reselect ones already chosen... Some choices seem better at the time then they eventually turn out to be.

    I'd see it more as an Origin myself so there are no powerset restrictions.

    Anyway, I would want to see (that hasn't already been pushed a lot)

    * Primal Clockwork Parts (scavenged skeletal robotic)
    * Skyraiders Jump Bot Parts (narrow skeletal robotic)
    * Skyraiders Flight Suit pattern
    * Vahzilok Reaper apron
    * Vahzilok Morticator bone ribs torso wrap
    * Goldbrickers bomardier strap with ?gas grenades?
    * Vampyri big gloved talon hands
    * Freakshow Meat Doctor backpack (for Crab Spiders only)
    * Coralax (parts in general)

    I'd say the menu work needs to be done either way, unless you stop adding options altogether *and* assume the current stucture is just fine. So replacing options to avoid new clutter (option 1) rather then gradually increasing clutter (option 2) at best delays the inevitable, and at the cost of flexibility.

    If getting a new costume menu prevented getting any new textures altogether, I'd side with it over either of the presented options.

    One example is I use the stone texture to represent tree bark on a blank character. If it was actually crisp enough to resemble stone, it would look less like bark. Its sort of like the finger thing: Mitten hands are finger non-specific, so it could represent 5, 4, 3 or just 2 fingers (more a claw really), where seperate fingers would confirm a definite five. Sometimes there is merit in distortion. So I would vote #2.
  9. I'm fine with replacement with overlay parts. But what I would Ideally like to see if this route is followed are base costume parts that resemble the replaced body. The current stone option is just a smooth texture that looks more like chitin or tree bark: I'd love to have actual elemental stone or crystal parts that could be potentially mixed and matched with the more organic bits.
  10. This forum section is more for how to do things then request/suggestions, particularly regarding the competition. That being said, I'm hoping they will do this in the mutation themed booster pack. I believe during the anniversary fiasco one of the devs implied when asked that odd parts like tentacles were more appropriate for it then for the science pack...
  11. With this system going in I just hope they decide to also widen the level band for level pacting, since its impact will be lessened anyway. My wife and I have a lot of duo characters above fifth level from before pacting was announced that we would love to directly link up.

    And please increase the size of my global ignore by 100. It has been full for over a year now, and every time I ignore another scumbag RMT spammer, it drops someone else off the list.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I think it would be better to have two ignore lists, the normal ignore list and the spam ignore list. That way the addition of a spammer's name, which likely has a very short shelf life, won't push off the name of somebody who will need to be ignored in the long term for being annoying.

    this explains why BBC America is showing the new Doctor Who episodes (the last four or five Tennant episodes..) first instead of Sci-Fi

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I'd say that Doctor Who being produced by the actual BBC has more impact on that. Being a window into their shows is kind of the point of the network...

    Now, if they announce Twilight: The Series, THEN you can panic.

    Sadly, while I have no interest in the movies or books, I would probably watch that. I love vampire tv shows, and the more terrible, predictable, and melodramatic they get the more I like them. Odd character flaw I guess...

    I'm mostly concerned with how their new promo video has some "house party" with a few weird things going on as opposed to those awesomely insane channel promo thingies where some dude uses his icy superpowers to help a penguin cross a lake, or some balding pervert is thwarted when the woman he intends to grope extends her spines.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I'm sort of glad to be rid of the dog being blown up like a baloon and the woman popping after pricking her finger on a flower... those sort of creeped me out. But I'll miss the rest.

    Sci-Fi -vs- SyFy

    While it looks silly, the name change doesn't bother me. Last night while watching Warehouse 13 I saw promos for Eureka, Caprica, Sanctuary, and Stargate Voyager... errr Universe. As long as I get these sort of shows it doesn't matter what logo is floating in the corner. And since I watch things pretty much exclusively via DVR I don't have to deal with their non-genre programming.

    I will say the new motto bothers me more: "Imagine greater" is just linguisticly uncomfortable to my brain.

    A troll (normal male or female) taking an extra dose of superadyne and going Supa Troll (huge). This would be ideal for a macro when you trigger the various awesome-for-two-minutes-and-then-you-crash powers.
  18. My wife made a mission called Mystic Fridge where the contact is just that, a magical refrigerator. Its remarkably chatty for a major appliance.
  19. I've never had a problem with Vahz, but I am one of those who detest Oreobagel maps. There are plenty of other places they could be gathering for their dire plans: A small cave or outdoor place, an office building, even a casino. The random portals, difficult to spot tunnel paths, funny floating rock sections (where important glowies inevitably spawn) and just sheer length of them make them unpleasant runs.

    In any case if your arc forms more or less as scripted I can't wait to try it (at least mission 4): I play a little with the Yin/Clockwork King relationship in the Easter mission I made and I love seeing how other people approach it.
  20. I'd love if something like this was implemented and it let you set arcs to a specific SG level. That way having a higher level in the group could unlock special missions that tie in more to the deeper mysteries of the organisation (assuming your organisation has deeper mysteries of course).
  21. My wife likes to mention how in another MMO it filtered out the word "weed" as well as a particular four letter vulgar word, but did not filter out the latter when you added "ing" to the end. This led to somebody in game making a statement along the order of "So I can say <not-censored>ing, but I can't say <censored> even though I can grow <not-censored>ing pipe <censored>? What the <censored>?"
  22. Cool idea. What I wish also in the "Favorites List" sort of concept is that each souvinir had built info tag at the bottom of Id (at the time), Mission name, and author. A handful do this manually...

    Jenkins is MIA

    Does he look unique at all? If not you can probably use a renamed conventional Arachnos mob as a stand in... Even something totally different: Have him show up as an arachnobot (his brain was implanted in a new body after one face-plant to many).

    what powersets do people recommend for an archvillain if I want him to be as challenging an encounter as humanly possible?

    Regen allegedly does terrifying things on high end custom mobs. But this guide has really good section about strong/weak powers you can use: Dispari's Guide to Custom Units .
