Defense Debuff Resistence.
As far as I'm aware...it's a attribmod, meaning it's affected by DR. Since DDR is treated the same as defense, and it's a Cur, it should be 1.2/1.0 in the DR equation.
Which means 95% DDR for SR becomes 43.5% DDR. Is this correct? Would -10% def against a SR in a PvP zone mean instead of doing -0.5% defense, it does -5.65% defense? I understand DR affects totals meaning -5.65% def wouldn't subtract from the DRed amount, but would subtract from the total unDRed amount, and then be affected by DR, but am I looking at this all correctly?
Does anyone know if DDR is affected by DR? If it is, then -def, although slightly weaker only affecting the total before DR, when stacked enough would wreck just about anything defense wise.
Some of my characters have -def powers, and i'm curious how useful they really are, and how much ACC or Tohit I can skip because of those powers.
Thank you -

Looking to buy either a level 51, 52 or 53 Membrane Exposure (Synthetic or not). -

Level 50 Gladiator's Armor 3% def >>recipe<<
Any server and any side for the trade. -
Sonic/Rad cor imo would work. You've got AM to help with mez, heal to survive, some of the best debuffs + sonic debuffs. Your damage is good too.
I've seen your builds, you should be fine with one. -
Whoa, someone couldn't kill me by themselves so they hired people to gank me?
I'm definitely favouriting this thread.
And deadeye is a kat stalker on virtue who i've never really seen as a threat, nothing compared to A'relia. He talks like this in zone all the time, even though realistically speaking you couldn't talk with random captial letters...it would sound the exact same haha.
RP and PvP don't mix too well. -
KMs tend to have bad ACC for some reason, which is why stacking the -tohit proc in boxing works for brutes.
Slot divine avalanche with 2-3 damage procs and use that a lot. They won't be able to hit you. Lysosome HOs give Def+acc so try those with a heca dmg IO and procs. -
Quote:Have you looked at the crits for Scrapper Char? It critted for around 1300 damage.
Also,
It's great that they are not accepting damage buffs now, but they are still jumping to the same target multiple times. I just got hit for ~4000 damage in RV when it jumped 11 times. If this is WAI there doesn't seem to be any reason to take anything OTHER than Ion for PvP.
No, it had 5 chances to crit for about 250 damage, which was it's total. That seems fine to me. It never critted for 1300, unless it crited all 5 times. Most i've seen was 3 at one time, and i've thrown it a lot.
So again, anyone know -exactly- what was changed? -
Fix the Char crits how exactly? I happen to have that on 4 pvp scrappers. The way the Char crits work are the same as Ring of Fire as far as i could tell, so why change one and not the other?
Anybody have an idea about this? -

This isn't 100% true. In a pvp zone, if a part of a power is unenhanced, it gets +16.2% bonus to that part.
My barrier (t2 core) is saying it has a 1m 43s rech time.
120/1.162 = 103
Not sure why it would get recharge from that but not anything else in the game. Unless it's a glitch. -
The biggest number you could find basically. ST or AoE.
Aside from bugs that will get fixed soon >> -
Just curious here, but which attack does the most damage in one hit? Without using inspirations or external buffs. And I mean all at once, I wouldn't include something like Blizzard. Although I would count the 2 parts of damage from Total Focus.
Is it 2x rage, full fury, fiery embrace KoB from an SS/Fire brute?
A Critical Midnight Grasp from a fully saturated Soul drain and fiery embrace?
Total focus from Build up/Aim blaster?
Energy transfer from a brute?
Warshade double mire nova?
Or blaster's nova?
And then i wanna see someone hit a level 1 underling with it :P -
Quote:You can't run a seamless FS Burn EF BL attack chain, so more recharge can always help.
BL base recharge is 32s ; the lowest you can get it to recharge is 32/5 = 6.4s, that's being at the recharge cap (+400% recharge).
FS animates in 2.244s
Burn in 2.244s
EF in 1.32s
So you'd want BL to recharge in 5.808s
Ultimately, as you say yourself recharge hits diminishing returns. Past some point you're going to look at some pretty huge sacrifices for a minimal speed increase. If that alt has only a single purpose, AE farming, why not. Otherwise I wouldn't bother.
Burn is 2.112 animation time, based on mids anyway.
Mids says 2.03
2.03 / 0.132 = 15.37
Round to 15, then +1 = 16
16*0.132 = 2.112
I remember someone incorrectly posting arcanatime is always -roundup-, but it's actually just round. If you were to roundup it would be the same as footstomp.
FT is 2.1 on mids, so it actually is rounded to 16, making it 17 after the 1 is added, and then it gets the 2.244 animation time.
This only helps your arguement that it can't have a seamless chain, but the mistake was bugging me.
Also to the person who thought the FF proc wasn't calculated....well this was based off the maximum possible recharge time for BL (that is, 400% rech on the power, which is 1/5 it's rech time). So not only is it calculated...but it's unlikely you could hit that on your own without Force of nature. If you don't see a gap...it could be because it's very minute that it looks seamless...but it isn't based on the numbers and those aren't usually wrong. -
Can you make the interrupt time for the computer 0 seconds?
I wanted my tickets and now i've got debt from dying twice -_-
I just wanted to do the mission for the tickets anyway. All 8 of them. -
Quote:I suppose i should have mentioned that i perma taunt, and nobody uses AoEs in pvp meaning my pets never die. Fights would last anywhere from 3-20 minutes.#3 and #5 depend on how long your battles are lasting, and how often you need to resummon pets (who cares if they're out of end after they die.) If your pet is running out of end, they're going to be dealing quite a lot less damage than if they have lots of end.
I've been watching my Jounin do this. Certain pets seem to run out more than others. -
I would be happy to get one of these answered, no need to try and answer all of them if nobody knows.
On my thug/pain, all the thugs are running out of end, which is fine for the most part, but i'm wondering if end reduction would be worth slotting.
I'm using these in pvp, and sometimes a fight can last anywhere from 5-20 minutes. The pets will run out of end fairly quickly. So my main questions are...
1. To start off, the dmg/end enhancement from Soulbound, does that affect their end reduction? I've heard something about the 'end' part of the IOs not working, and i would need to use regular invention IOs or SOs...or HOs.
2. Will the enforcer's leadership ever turn off because they ran out of end?
3. How effective will slotting end reduction really be? Are they at almost the same performance at full end as very low end? Would slotting end reduction only mean they have more end for 20 or 30 more seconds, making it meaningless in the long run?
4. How much end reduction would they need to never run out of end, if that's possible. Would it ever be worth it?
5. Finally, would anyone happen to know if an increase to end reduction would be more effective than an increase to damage, at any time (say....60% damage/30% end better than 90% dmg), DPS wise?
Thanks for any responses! -
After eagles claw you have a better chance to crit on the next attack.
1. Does this affect char's critical chance or only MA attacks?
2. Does this increase the critical chance of every Char damage tick or only the first?
3. Would the answers to 1 and 2 change in pvp zone at all?
Also, how much does the attack right after EC get for it's increased critical? And does this stack with the 5% (or 10% with storm)? -
Definitely my Warshade. I've got about 14 different binds that change me between forms, drop me out of a form/execute power/put me back in form, right up to auto targeting a fluffy and using grant invis. There are so many awesome powers to use.
Where to start....
2 Shapeshifts
pets flying around (3 pets pwn)
eclipse and it's awesomeness
TP foe
Recall friend
KB Stun cone
Mini nuke on dead enemy
real nuke
Stygian Circle refilling both bars every 10 seconds
Invis
self rez with invincibility
2 mires
phase shift
grant invis
And of course my personal favourite, the overkill double mire double nuke.
Sunless Mire/Black Dwarf Mire/Grav on minion/Unchain essence/Quasar
^ I've never been more happy than after one of those, even if only bosses and low hp Lts are up after the unchain.
There's just so much to do, i basically do something different every mob, and you need to keep on your toes. -
RttC is an offensive toggle (because of the -tohit) therefore it turns off with any mez, which is any mez that hits (whether it's 5 seconds or the 0.3 second sleep from electric melee).
So usually RttC will stay off.
They're kind of equal, but if you want to start as one...go willpower, for the quick recovery.
Make sure to get tough and aid self.
taunt is nice for squishies. -
I don't understand why you were going for perma MoG (which yes, it is impossible), but didn't slot MoG for recharge at all.
Or why you wanted a cheap build and included 3 sets of purples and 4 LotGs.
Also, Levi mastery's claim to fame is hibernate, which you didn't get.
Hasten is fine with 2 slots.
Use crushing impacts in attacks, defense on a regen is useless.
Make sure recon is slotted for healing and recharge, it's your best heal.
Better enhance your super speed for speed, (1 slot is good, 2 is better) or else you won't be able to catch anything.
you want recharge in MoG, defense can be nice but recharge is much better.
You want performance shifter +end procs in your recovery autos (QR/Stam). If you run out of end, good chance one will proc and you can use MoG to get more recovery.
the LotG +regen and +hp bonuses are kind of low, if you want regen, use the regen tissue proc and maybe slot health with an actual % in healing.
Fast healing and integration are a little overslotted. they only need heal, as recharge is useless for them and your end can handle it. num heal, num heal/rech, num heal/end.
No need for revive. If you revive, they will kill you as you're trying to put your toggles on. If you use MoG to survive, then once you get yourself ready to fight, you'll soon be fighting without it up.
You need either targeting drone, focused accuracy or tactics to get some acc. And you should always throw a kismet +acc in CJ or stealth for more tohit as well. Right now this build would be missing everything. Switch stealth for maneuvers and weave for tactics or something like that.
don't bother slotting boxing, the defense is useless and spine has a weapon redraw.
resilience is fine with 1 res IO
the purple dmg procs are amazing in pvp, replace the Dmg with the proc in each purple set. With the exception of water spout which doesn't have a damage proc.
again, don't bother slotting stealth or weave. give them an LotG but then leave it there, if you want regen or hp, there are better places.
contact me ingame if you have any questions, i give better responses there.
Just overall tips, GL. -
Quote:You make it sound like farming is difficult, which is laughable at best. By your definition, anyone without a purple'd out SS/Fire is not a true farmer.
You make it sound like anything in this game is difficult. I remember at the beginning of the game when we used to fail stuff, and now i don't recall failing anything for the past 2 years. Closest i got was at Rom with 4 people, i ended up web nading the nictus' and we all killed rom, then the nictus'. Killing the healing one was such a pain, and overall it took us probably 4 hours. Was horrible. And don't get me started on that 13 hour Dr. Q -_-
Farming -can- be difficult the same way pvp can be difficult, because you're competiting and only one can come out on top. You can call it easy, but there's going to be 1 winner and 10 losers.
Yea i changed it to "speed farming" above just to make it easier. Anyone can farm, but basically, yes, you do need a purpled out farmer to speed farm. That is, have low enough times to compete with some of the best. -
Quote:I don't have any problem with the existences of subcultures dedicated to optimizing particular things. Where I have the problem is when that subculture forgets they are a subculture and starts thinking they are the One True Way.
A while ago I started a thread half-joking and half-serious about a new build I was thinking about for my MA/SR scrapper. Among a lot of interesting ideas, two of which I adapted and incorporated into the build actually, I got one joker claiming that what I was doing wasn't "min/maxing" because they knew what min/maxing was, and min/maxing was all about generating the maximum amount of recharge to power the maximum rate of AoEs. If I wasn't looking for advice and discussion, I wouldn't have started the thread. But if you think its your mission to explain to me what min/maxing is and what it specifically involves, you better have a better story to sell than "min/maxing is about high recharge" or I'm not going to be impressed.
Just like with min/maxing, there are lots of optimization possibilities for farming. Not all of them are acceptable to all players. I invoke the scrapper challenge rule, which is if you can do it at all, you're ahead of the game. The rest is details.
Interesting side note: the majority of good min/maxers I know in the game are almost paradoxically non-elitist.
Well....realistically couldn't i just call it "speed farming" then? I wouldn't mind if that would solve the problem to be honest. If we're a subculture that's branched off of farming, it would kind of need a different name to represent what we do, and "speed" would obviously show the difference, since we try to achieve being the fastest.
Also, i read that MA/SR thread, and i remember that guy arguing about min/max. I'm sure he could have just called it "Min/Max for recharge for AoE" and gotten away with it.
