Good luck, if you find it let me know because I have been looking for this for 6 years now.

Come close a few times but its only ever for a few months because city has no real end game so people start up with alts and everything becomes more and more fragmented until it devolves into people playing different characters separately and talking to each other OOC'ly in a global channel together.
Indeed indeed... if I don't find something good soon I will be starting my own, or crashing and burning in a glorious burst of flames! Either way, should be fun.
  3. Oh wow those are all pure awesome.

That first guy -so- reminds me of this guy...it's gotta be the hair XD But I love it ;D

I like the take on Slither! Definitely a deviation from the norm hehe. <3

That last one of nurse white is my favorite though, I love the set of lips on the side XD. Her right eye looks a little different than the left, though.
  4. ....what? Oh... wait there's numbers and letters? I was too busy staring at the lineup of beautiful women!

"and seeing the Korean Won's continued decline against the US Dollar "

That's from your original post, so you might want to edit it, along with all the other warnings of grave danger, averting disasters and such if you don't want your message to seem like doom and gloom. Just another suggestion.

You missed the point entirely. To clarify for you, my point was that currency values -- specifically the Korean Won to US Dollar exchange rate -- are fluctuating because of the threat of war. This causes the actual monthly "income" from US Dollar sales to fluctuate in like wise, exacerbating the problem of the already-small user base.

When I say the game is alive and well I mean just that. The game is alive and well. Are the developers facing the same issues they were in 2008? No, they aren't. I don't delve into the personal lives of the developers. I watch the game itself, what direction it's headed in, what's planned for the future, what the population is doing, and how the outlook of the people playing/developing the game seems to be. Right now, those are all looking very good to me personally. So yes, I believe the game is alive and well, specially when you look at the age of the MMO.

I didn't miss the point on the currency exchange. I got that completely but the point still stands. This movement with posters and such is very unlikely to succeed in the first place and subscription gain from it would be minimal at best. The best way to recruit people to a game is to focus on its strengths, not to simply put it out there and be like "Hey look at this poster, play City of Heroes today!"

I'm not an economic genius but if the value of korean currency is dropping in comparison to the US dollar would that not mean that they are making more money instead of less since they are being paid in US dollars? (Completely unsure of this, I am not an expert on the subject of currency changes :P) Unless of course prices they are paying elsewhere are also drastically rising at the same time in which case again... a minimal spike in subscriptions for a month or two is not going to save them nor cause them to start hiring more people than they already would.

I'm sorry but I'm afraid I really just can't back you on this as a major effort to "Save the game" or whatever. It's nice and all but you're delusional if you think it will.

Any advertising effort, grassroots or corporate, should be aimed towards the widest possible playing demographic in order to generate the largest possible response.

    -- Vivian
As I said before, that change would be the only thing -I- could see attracting new players to the game (on a large scale that is). Other MMOs have the market cornered in the PVE aspect and are far better if you're looking to spend your life raiding etc. Same goes for PVP.

What does CoH have for players? It has excellent roleplaying elements and some good PVE elements. PVP has long faded as a factor, and raiding is there but it's also mostly irrelevant because the game itself is fairly easy on a whole and the game is very very far from being dependent on raiding to be "good".

If the game and it's development were having issues I highly doubt we would see the amount of future planning like we are in the incarnate system.

No amount of subscriptions is going to save a company from war if war is going to affect it, none (Specially a nuclear war, and that discussion really is not one I care to participate in).

You say you're not trying to create the attitude that CoH is falling but that's exactly what you are saying, so forgive me if I'm a bit confused on your position here. I don't think anyone here wants the game to fail, but going out and yelling to the world to try CoH because it needs to survive all willy nilly is not really the answer and as has been stated by a number of people before... this is not exactly a new game and many many people have already played the game at least once.

This is what I'd think would be the largest problem.

Any suggestions as to better ways to help ensure CoX's survival would be happily received.

    -- Vivian
I'm not offended, but as I said simply promoting the game for the sake of promoting the game does not seem like a positive stance. The way I read it your message said to me "I love this game, but it's dying... please take pity an play it to save it!" Not only that but you suggest that the developers have an unfavorable view of their own game by saying we should change their view on it.

I don't see the game dying. I see it alive and well, and as you said we get new people every day. If NCsoft wanted more people for City of Heroes and more money, they would make a commercial or something and continue to actively advertise it. I think they did a decent job promoting going rogue.

In other words, I just don't see this idea as needed or warranted which is what I meant by "rubs me the wrong way". Your message, to me, has a heavy air of pity and defeat to it, and I don't believe it has any place here.

And I did give a suggestion. I'd love City of Heroes to begin promoting itself as the only MMO that truly caters to RPers above other things, and I'd love to see their development shift towards that. I think that in itself would attract an exodus of disgruntled RPers who are oppressed and left in the dust by other games -to- city of heroes. All other aspects of the game (except maybe pvp) profit through roleplaying elements in my opinion so it's a win-win for City of Heroes as a whole. Combine that with this game never really having a hardcore raiding/pvp scene and I think it's the most logical direction for the game to take. When I promote CoH, I promote it through all the wonderful things it's done for RPers like the mission architect (Which is the single greatest tool for RPers in MMO history IMO and it has the potential to be the greatest for years to come if they gave it an overhaul and added a swath of further customization to it). Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.

    Arts for the X

Okay well apparently I have annoyed some people by posting links to my Deviant art uploads to nudity. I figured people who did not want to see nudity would see me state that the pics were clearly NSFW, and also not have their maturity filter off for Deviant art if they didn't want to see the nudity.

If I've offended or annoyed you, I apologize and it was not my intention in the least. I'm just sharing my arts and the people who've done them. Please don't hesitate to PM me(like this person did) if you have an issue with something I'm doing because I'm a generally nice person.

There is nudity on this front page in the form of thumbnails if you have your mature filter off so do not click it if you do not want to see it.
http://christhesilent.deviantart.com/ That is my deviantart page for future reference if I get any more NSFW arts, I'll just post a notice here.

That's all for now till the next art comes in.
  11. Honestly I wish you luck but your message is just not rubbing me the right way.

I've regularly tried to recruit my own friends and none of them have ended up staying even the full month. They all go right back to WoW and their other respective games for the shiny epics.

    Beastial Claws

I wouldn't ask for a change to this but I've always hated eviscerate and shockwave. I'm okay with focus. Claws has just always been way behind the rest because our best attack takes forever to execute, does subpar damage like the rest of the set, and looks less than glorious.

As far as finger claws, I could get behind it.
  13. Personally, I think CoH not (nor ever) being mainstream as far as MMO contenders go is what's made this community so great. We have a very low population of trolls/*******.... the devs, GMs, and other people who work here aren't completely overwhelmed with work and childish griping. The forums are relatively positive (And by positive I mean there is no "LOLUMAD SON?" A.K.A. the WoW forums syndrome).

Trying to get this game into the mainstream and actually succeeding would effectively morph this community for the worse I think. The only way I'd support marketing this game openly is if it was tauted for roleplay, and the development of the game took a drastic turn towards overhauling aspects of the game that enhance (And otherwise promote and sustain) roleplay. I don't see that happening any time soon, and I'm perfectly happy with the population we have now. Obviously the devs would like more money to work with but it's not worth the price imo.

Not when he specifically states that it's not going to happen until he leaves. The way he worded it... it's implied that once he leaves there is instantly a far higher chance (I.e. greater than zero) that it might be considered (assuming the new dev doesn't post a new 100% rejection to the same idea). Until the new lead states otherwise, it's back to theory crafting and speaking for devs as people do daily anyway. Either way, it's no longer a valid post since he is not with the company anymore and doesn't personally guide its direction. It's like saying a dead guy is speaking for the living.

Not arguing the position, just that the screenie itself is not valid hehe.

But thanks for the info I'd be fully against the idea myself actually since currently we don't even have underwater, much less anything further.
  18. Oh absolutely, I'd love to see a holiday themed Slithershot =P

I give you full range on what you feel like doing if you want to do her, and again I'm with Caem. Plenty enough arts to be happy with so put others before me ;D
