  1. Short answer: No, not really.
    Long answer: Noooooooooooooooooooooooo, not really.
  2. I'm pretty positive there are very few of my fellow ninja lovers out there. I rarely ever see another ninja MM past level 20.

I have never liked the Oni. Not once. Why do I not like the Oni?

    1. I feel it does not fit in the ninja set AT ALL. We have two lower tier pets who are your basic ninja types... and then we get.. some mythical beast thing that breathes fire, uses useless rings of fire and wields a sword made of flame when he's not busy wasting his time immobilizing people?

    2. The Oni itself is weaker than a jounin to me.

And a number of other reasons that are personal to me but hold no point in this suggestion.

    Now, what do I suggest?

I suggest something very simple, a third MORE powerful ninja than jounins. Give us a strong dual blade stalker (or even a brute/scrapper, since the third tier currently has no hide available)

The abilities are already there to be used, simple katanas can be used as the weapons, and improvisation is wide open where the devs would feel free to add their own touch (Giving the pet its own smoke bomb to lose aggro when it gets low on health for instance, using the stalker defense set so it may heal itself)

I'm going to leave it fairly open because I'm not a fair judge, but after years of playing my ninja MM... I believe the oni has to go.

And yes, I realize it's not likely to happen since "Somebody will not like it, therefore it won't be done" but I'm suggesting it nonetheless.

Except for the fact that it's heavily seeded in what I described, time travel.

It would basically be a rehash of the same story, this time set in a hollywood western setting.

I never said it wouldn't work, just implied that it would be highly unlikely and take a ton of creative writing to make it seem like something less than a big joke.

I agree with Bill that it could bean interesting story arc or something, just not a world in itself. Besides, another thing you would get with this wild west setting is more people blubbering about wanting horse mount travel powers.... we don't need any more of that.
  5. I don't know if you've ever seen the movie Jumper... but it's the first thing that came to my mind when you mentioned travel archetype.

Love it or hate it, the actual fight scenes in that movie were pretty marvelous to me and that's what I would think when you say a teleportation set.

Other than that, no specific comments come to mind.

The only way I could see this being the least bit feasible is through a time portal, and even still someone with superpowers would easily be able to take over the world or kill all the villains in a month. Doesn't seem very fun to me.

Extra costume options, however, are always a plus.
  7. What of having the endurance of the casting greatly increased, say.... half your endurance unslotted, and instead of longer bubble life, a "team buff" That applies to everyone like a pet upgrade applies to pets. To prevent people from abusing the "Door glitch" bump up the recharge rate to something like a minute.

Probably a silly idea and the actual figures can be diddled with but just a random thought.
  8. Interesting... I haven't been in this crowd since around issue 5 so I'm still getting back into the swing of things. Thank you for the information.

  10. I won't comment on the tips system just at this moment but I will say this.

The search feature needs to have some way of displaying what alignment people are.

I would suggest adding a simple icon row that indicates what each particular person is (Hero, vigilante, rogue, villain).

Currently.... I can't tell who can go where and I have no way of telling i someone is even able to join my team before asking them and then feeling like a ******* because they're unable to come to where my team is.
  11. I'd rather the ability to manually pick what is going to spawn where in a mission based on specific spawn points selected for each map
i.e. ambushes, bosses, object spawns, etc.

Far less likely to happen but even better I would love to be able to personally walk on the map I'm editing and drop "Spawn point sticks" or something of the like so there's even less confusion of what's going to end up where, and far deeper customization than what we have now.

A completely different idea is to have objectives spawn on a timer instead of needing an objective.

Now that would be amusing tragedy.
  13. My first character ever was a fire/kin controller.

Back in my day (and by my day I mean 2004 when the game was released... I got into the forum game late. Shame sham) I would run around with armies of 15 fire imps. I miss those days sorely.... there's very few things more satisfying to me than watching 15 uncontrollable monsters superbuffed by fulcrum shift run around and cause utter madness in a solo mission.

Anyway, I agree with the principle that only masterminds should be able to actually order their pets. The difference between a mastermind and a controller is the mastermind is designed to be a leader of armies. The beings they control are sentient. Controllers on the other hand create non-sentient beings which I would imagine is already a highly difficult thing to control. Actually being able to give it orders would require some sort of compromise on a controllers abilities.

That's my sight on it anyway, and just an opinion.

In short: No thank you to the controller pet controlling.

I am nobody, and I support this message.

The thread should have ended with this reply honestly.

If people can't handle the name they want being taken, and don't have the maturity to think up another name that they can use.... then they should be ridiculed and viewed as uncreative because that's what they are.

    Truth hurts.

    Quitting teams

    *box pops up*
Would you really like to quit your team?
    Yes or No

I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally quit my team trying to click somebody or something near the quit button by accident.

    Pretty please?

I don't like assuming I or anyone else not on the dev team knows what the dev team is doing unless they say they're doing it (say -that- five times fast...).

So I'm playing on the safe side to make this suggestion thread
  19. I'd like to add that there should be a map marker of some sort in Port Oakes to the building where the SuperGroup registrar is. I remember the first time I played back during release the only reason anyone ever found the supergroup registrar was because someone happened to have a mission in that building.

So I had a crazy idea as I was mulling about my usual schedule of the day.

What if, I thought, there were another dropdown choice for "back detail".

I have seen Combat Auras from the Cyborg pack and after playing around with that notion, and quite pleased with how well it works as a side note, I thought... what if there were an option for "non-combat" things.

The most specific thing that came to mind was weapons sheathed on the back. We have seen models in the game that have weapons resting on their backs, and even in vanilla Coh (reference http://pcmedia.gamespy.com/pc/image/coh_033104_006.jpg). Could this be an option for those with weapons to give their characters just a little more depth? Other classes can customize their powers but classes with weapons are limited (very limited actually, though it's definitely better than nothing... I love nothing more than to whack some poor guy in the face with a shovel and send him flying in the air) to a few options on how their actual weapon looks.

What if, I pondered, that hero that wields a Katana were given the option to have a sword hilt at his side when not in combat? What if that Tanker with a broadsword and a shield could have them crossed upon his back while not in use? What if gun-toting heroes and villains alike could sling their rifles over their backs and holster their guns at their waists (or in their belts for you gangster types)?

Now obviously this doesn't have to include new animations to fit these new options to the letter, in fact that would be a terrible amount of work. I just think it would add another level of immersion if people weren't just whipping battle axes and shields from their back or belt and you could actually give people the option to see what your weapon is and where it's coming from if you so chose (and to make it easier selecting the option of your weapon showing would make the weapon you actually use... show wherever you have it showing... for example if you wield an Impervium Katana, an Impervium Katana would be hanging from your belt with the color scheme it's currently in.

To my knowledge it shouldn't take a terrible amount of coding as the items are already in existence, and new, inactive ones would just need to be made to fit where you select it.

The tricky part is... would a non-combat only costume piece be viable? I'm not a coder in the least sense so I'm asking, logic can only tell me that if the game can recognize when you are in combat it can tell when you are not so it can choose to display something accordingly depending on what it finds by reversing the circumstance.

Apologies for the long-winded post *bow*

I believe city of heroes/villains should have had a engine upgrade instead of a graphical upgrade. It's nice to get better looking game and I love going Rogue an all, but you don't paint over a wrecked car until you get The dents out.

I would love to see the engine get upgrade and if it has been upgraded, then how is COH/COV going to compete with thE *WHISPERING The other Superhero MMO (which I think They are total ripping off from City of Heroes and I won't say there name) that's coming out soon*WHISPERING I was watching a lot of the interviews and I believe they been on this forum listening to what we have to say and requested for this game its so funny they are adding it in there's game. So many powers in the comic world that could be inputed in this game, but that pesky old engine just can't handle it or a lawsuit want let us hhalol.

go on youtube and listen to the features and powers they are adding into their game I swear I HEARD it mention on here first before I saw that E3 interview I think if the gaming engine had a major boost this game would run so much smoother.
I managed to get past your spelling and grammar mistakes but... I stil have absolutely no idea what game you are talking about.

If you're talking about Champions Online I hate to be the one to inform you that it was released a year ago (and aside from better graphics it is mostly a ripoff on City of Heroes( but it is an utter failure of a game in my opinion aside from a few things here and there that should be added to City of Heroes)

    Eye Blasters

Aside from possibly being hit with another copyright-based lawsuit... I don't really think a lazer eye-based powerset would have the variety a powerset needs to exist.

Every single power would essentially be a blast from the eyes.

I like this as well but mostly for the "Walk" power. I think the easiest way to do that would be to just enable both walk animations for both sexes, seems simple enough to me.
