And thank you Psy, for helping me learn the game back then. And for what it's worth, we actually have a base, built, funded, and maintained by myself, since my alts and I are the only active members. It's not bad, if I do say so myself.
  2. Hey all, I posted this on my blog, but I really wanted to share it with you all. It may be a bit premature, since there's still a couple months left, but I want to say, "Thanks" for the good (and bad) times on this server. It's the community here that has kept me around for 8 years. Here's a little about what this game has meant to me.

For me, this game has been more than what those four letters typically represent. I can still remember installing it on my 18th birthday and the feeling of overwhelming awe infused as the “Atlas Park Fanfare” played in the background. My first steps into Paragon City introduced me to a new world, and not simply the virtual world crafted within the game. These steps were taken at one of the lowest points in my life; a point when I rarely got out of bed in the mornings and skipped school more often than not. I’m not going to make the obvious parallel. I’m not going to say that this game allowed me to be a super hero when I was weak, because that isn’t what was important. What was important were the people I met, the community I became a part of, and the sense of power I felt when helping others learn how to play.
It’s been 8 years since that first step, and while I may not have all the answers for a new player, and I’m certainly not one of the most well known personalities on this server, over the last 8 years, NONE of those feelings have faded from the first step to the millionth. To be able to create feelings like those is truly something exceptional; something no other game has been able to recreate. But this game has done even more for me. After playing for about a year, I finally took a step behind the scenes of the game and onto the game’s forums. I was amazed to find yet another world, wholly unique and separate from City of Heroes itself. I was able to bear witness to what is surely the most impressive and dynamic developer/player relationship in all of gaming. I saw how closely the player’s ideas, complaints, and concerns were listened to and addressed. This relationship illustrated everything I desired in a fulfilling job and pushed me to work towards a job in the video game field.
So to learn that this game and its developers are being let go with no forewarning… it breaks my heart. Because City of Heroes has been more than any simple “game” could hope to be. No, I can honestly say that when it closes its doors, I will not be losing a game, but rather a friend and a mentor. My heartfelt thanks go out to all the developers and players that have made these last eight years so memorable. I hope you all take away at least a fraction of what City of Heroes has given to me.

    ZOMG! The Drama!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NufHsmITjM

Hey guys, I figured the best way to draw people here was to use entice you all with the hollow promise of drama. So, April Fools or whatever, and if you watched the link, double that.

The real reason I wanted to get people here is a friend of mine wanted me to get the word out on that video she was part of, and I figured I'd post here since I don't venture very far on the interwebz. If you guys like it, please share it!

Consider me thoroughly convinced and missing my toggle IH MUCH less now. Thank you again!
  5. Thanks for the quick and in-depth response! I forgot I had Accolades toggled on, so I removed all but the autos. I switched my Interface over to reactive, was originally on Diamagnetic, but I won't need that if I go Longbow Cataphract for Lore. I think I'm actually going to go Ageless for Destiny to capitalize even more on the +rech/recovery, in the hopes that I can get as close as possible to perma IH. Again, thank you SOOOO much for the advice!
  6. Looking for any critiques and build advice for my main incarnate scrapper. My biggest caveats would be to keep Touch of Fear and Soul Storm for thematic purposes, but I'm up for all suggestions, specifically advice on what incarnate paths I should take (and even more specifically, the Lore slot.) Thanks in advance for the help!

  7. Another request I would make is to have the Organic Armor Face have two color options. One for the chitin-ish texture and another for the glowing Eyes. Sorry if this has already been suggested.
  8. Subjective Feedback: I really like both of these sets. As people have mentioned before, a Tops with Skin option would be nice for both, so that they really feel like part of our characters and not something our characters are wearing. I think I saw a few posts about the seams at the neck and the boots, so I'll add my vote onto the pile for fixing that as much as possible

On a slightly related note, I would also likely to agree that the Bioluminescent stripes should be an Detail option without the scales, either in this pack or as a separate addition to the game. This would allow many new options for characters with glowing tattoos or runic magic on their bodies. Perhaps this could even be a way to facilitate both the bones from Organic Armor and these stripes onto a more skin-like/Tops with Skin option for both male and female models.
  9. Doesn't look like I'll be making it. The damn bracket's holding my CPU heatsink onto the mobo decided they wanted to break, so now I have to wait till I get home from school to replace the damn thing... >_<
  10. I'll do my best to get home in time for this and I'll let my friends know. I'll be bringing either a scrapper or an ill/emp troller, depending on what ya'll would like better. I'll try to get bios on both as well!
  11. Is it just me, or does the demon summoner in that picture have a new hairdo? o.O I really hope she does, and that it means more are coming as well.
  12. Nevermind, Zander said everything I did, but less snarkily.
  13. Ah, that solves it! Thanks very much!

Am I missing something? This is the second or third comment I've seen regarding dual pistol's coming out before i17, but I haven't seen any comments indicating such by devs.
  15. I'd definitely be interested, and availability shouldn't be *too* bad for me for a while. I've got a mid level Night Widow I'd love to jump in on this, but not too keen on starting a new toon, so take that for what it's worth.
  16. I just wish they'd bring the Grave Knight's Upgraded Sword back. They slipped it in during beta for weapon customization, but took it out to keep it unique for the pets. I think that should be repealed, especially if MM pet customization ever comes about.

    Enlighten Me

I'm not sure where exactly they're getting the pictures for their sigs from, but maybe it has something to do with Hero Con attendees? Wherever they got them, it's getting me more and more pumped for GR.
  18. Exactly what Umbral said. I use Celerity +Stealth in Sprint in conjunction with Super Speed on my DM/Regen and have 0 problems ghosting entire missions.
  19. I too made a Mind/Earth: Demented Clown with Telekinetic/Telepathic powers that trained with the circus strongman as well. Perfect in body in mind, except for the dementia and dwarfism.

Anyway, so far it's really fun to play. The knock(up) from Levitate, Stone Spears (80%), and Stone Mallet (50%?) does well for soft mitigation and after picking up Hasten, my attack ST damage has been pretty steady. I was disheartened when I saw the lack luster radii of /Earth's AoE's, so I've planned to just be a single target blapp-dom with perma-dom relatively in the realm of possibility.
  20. Been around for a while, mostly lurk in the scrapper forums, but really enjoy Doms Red side. I've recreated one of my favorite doms as a concept toon. Although he's more for concept than maximum efficiency, I'd like some advice on a build. Unfortunately, I'm on my Mac while at school, so no Mid's for me... Any advice would be useful, but I'm attempting to go for perma-dom (if that's possible) and as much damage as I can. I've heard that taking the Presence pool is an easy way to milk out some recharge bonuses and it fits well with the build I have in mind, but let me know!
  21. Senith

    How's Red Side?

They're basically the same channel. 2.0 is modded and 2.1 is not, but it really doesn't cut down on the drama. You're either listening to off topic banter or watching a stream of modsmacks. I personally have both channels, as some people only have one or the other it helps to post in both. At any rate, welcome to Triumph. Pull up a chair and pull off your pants.

Agreed. I was running a scanner mission with a team of 5, it was a random Steal X from Hellions mission, and I got ambushed by a mob of +4 with 2 bosses, 2 LTS and 6 minions. My difficulty was set for 8 players and +3 levels, but again, it was a scanner mission at level 7.
  23. Well, I'm turning in. Best of luck with keepin' it up!
  24. We've had some people who had to leave, so we now have a few spots open in the Freedom Phalanx/Vindicators: Manticore, Positron, Sister Psyche, and possibly Infernal. We've also decided to have alternate versions of WISDOM, Dawn Patrol, Omega Team, and the Midnighters be created for us. I haven't heard for sure if hero versions of Arachnos are cool, but it's definitely something I personally would like to see happen. If you'd like to learn more about the SG or want to join, shoot me or Fushicho a PM for more info!
  25. I noticed that whenever I save a costume file on my mac, it saves it automatically to C:/coh/etc. All well and good on my PC, but I don't have a C: drive on my mac and therefore can't access the saved files. Is there anyway to overcome this auto-save directory?

Edit: This is for the Training Room only, so it may be a bug.

    Thanks in advance.
