More stable, more participants, and orders would fill faster, but it isn't actually a change.

    Gotcha.

And apologies, Goat. I'll fill the quote with banal pop lyrics next time. They might make more sense...

Untrue. The market forum regulars are some of the most passionate advocates for a Red-Blue market merge. That's about the furthest thing possible from status quo, given the devs' demonstrated reluctance to do anything about the side disparity.

Just for us stupid americans who can't figure it out on their own. :P
Isn't that backwards? US times would be earlier in the day than the UK, not later (4pm GMT = 11am EST, 10am CST). I know someone in England who's always peeved about having to stay up way too late to participate in SG activities, as they're usually scheduled for evening Eastern Time.

The market defaults to showing all Selling/Bidding only. As Grey Pilgrim said, change the filter to show all items. Even items which have never been offered for sale will be visible, and you can bid on them.

    Ultralite RP?

Fair enough. You play your way, I play mine. I just dislike being labeled a godmoder because I choose to interpret "There is no fighting here" as, well, "There is no fighting here," rather than "There is no fighting here, unless it's a no-powers fist fight, since this is a night club, after all, which makes it a-okay."

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.

    Ultralite RP?

The cooperative zone dialogue displayed when a character enters the D states, "DJ Zero has gone to great lengths to ensure the Pocket D is neutral ground. There is no fighting here."

I see no misquoting here, just a canon statement that's so vague and lacking in explanation that players are forced to interpret the rule according to their own lights.

I'm hearing talk from several people that Confused Heroes on the Recluse Strike Force, specifically, will not damage each other.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They will damage each other. But with standard AV regen and HP so high, it doesn't make much of a dent.

It's funny as hell to watch, though.

    RP?

    [ QUOTE ]
I am fairly disappointed in all the RPers in this thread who failed to clarify War Admiral's issues. The problem was not that he hit "bad RPers" and there are "good RPers". The problem was clearly that the people in his complaint were not RPing, they were lying. There's a difference. And RPers do themselves a disservice when they fail to make the distinction.

    [/ QUOTE ]

QFE. This wasn't Role-Playing; this was a couple of lying drama llamas manipulating other players to get what they wanted.

I have a number of friends in this game I've talked to through Team Speak or on the phone. I've even met a few in person, so I *know* who's on the other end of the screen. Most of them have at least one opposite-sex character that they roleplay, often very convincingly. They would never, however, try to pass themselves off as being the opposite gender IRL.

Good RPers will always make the distinction between IC (in-character) and OOC (out-of-character) quite clear. Taking deliberate advantage of confusion in that area is the hallmark of a jerk, not an RPer.

Score! Stay with us! Are you on Virtue? I offer Welcome Packages to all new players. Give it a chance! Post your questions and problems in this thread, and we'll help you out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Watch out, OP! Dumple will pick you up, take you to the Tailor, and you'll never, ever be seen again!

On a more serious note, I'm glad you're giving it a bit more of a chance. Can you give us a little more detail about what you didn't like? Chances are, it's something that gets better along the line. The game does get more and more fun on the way to 50.

    Only 1 ACC?

    [ QUOTE ]
Before IOs, I always slotted 2 ACC in every attack with SOs. I [censored] HATE missing and CoV just loves to throw enemies at you who have to-hit debuffs.

After IOs I always aim for +70% ACC in every attack.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Same here. The whiff-whiff-whiff-WHIFF! when something like Shadow Maul or Thousand Cuts misses especially grates on my nerves.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
You know, I'm not trying to be mean to you Dominator players out here, but you guys should take a look at how Stalker players reacted to their buff and try to model your posts off them. And think: You guys got an even better buff, in my opinion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The majority of posts I've seen have been players doing their best to test and offer detailed and constructive criticism on the changes.

There are always a few people who are going to freak out. Yay for the Internet.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
yes I think overkill is very much the case and/or using a dot st inefficient immob for damage.

The issue with having ALL of the assault powers designed for high dpa is that every attack means you are using KO blow to kill the minion with a sliver left (exageration, but hopefully you get what I mean).

At times it is nice to have a low cost attack to finish off survivors.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. Even Psi Dart now feels like a waste of end. I suppose I could try using Brawl, since I'm in melee anyway.

Reminds me of the times my friend and I would go into a mission, take mobs down to half health, and then compete to see who would get the kill credit for brawling them to death. Yes, we were bored.

The board ate my long, detailed post, so I'll just make a quick note here and rewrite the long one tomorrow after more testing.

Overall the recharge changes weren't as bad as I had feared, but end burn felt slightly worse to considerably worse (36 Fire/Psi, 45 Mind/Energy, both with Stamina). I'm hoping some minor playstyle adjustments and judicious power picks/slotting will be able to minimize those issues.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
Assuming the same DPS rates, the only place you might really be burning more end is in overkill, using the now bigger attacks (with their increased end costs) to finish off a foe that less damage would suffice for. That's probably not an ingnorable effect if you currently have an "endurance casual" build.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm going to miss the old Psi Dart. Sure, it was kind of a crappy little power damage-wise, but it was perfect for finishing off that last little sliver of enemy health, and always available due to the super quick recharge. It was also nice for rapid Domination building at the very beginning of a mission.

Before the changes came through, I was actually toying with the idea of slapping a bunch of procs in there, just for giggles. Looks like I'll be slotting it as part of an actual attack chain now, instead of convenient filler. That makes me a little sad. I *liked* my junk food power!
  16. QR

I'm a little concerned about the increased recharge and end costs on many of the powers. Much of what I read in the other thread boils down to "My attack chain is still fine and I don't really have a problem with my blue bar - but this is an IO/permadom build."

I'll be heading over to Test tomorrow to see for myself (45 Mind/Energy and 36 Fire/Psi), but I'm afraid that the slower "feel" some people have complained of is going to be a deal-breaker for me, damage buffs notwithstanding.
  17. I am officially ebil. My main, Exequy, finally hit 1 billion infamy after selling a Hecatomb: Damage recipe for 150 million.

Many Romans died to get me where I am today.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
How about all of the above?. See as I posted before, people asking for a "healer" want at THE VERY LEAST one heal, basically any means to mitigate lost life points, no one said you had to stop buffing/debuffing, just cause you have one heal.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Except that's not always the case. In my experience, teams specifically requesting a "healer" often want defenders to produce green number spam at the expense of the other powers in their arsenal.

I have Rad/ and Dark/ defenders, as well as a /Therm and a /Stormie. They all have heals. I use them. I also use all the other tools in my toolbox - debuffs, buffs and controls. I prefer the paradigm of layered mitigation, where heals are the final line of defense.

You won't find me on a "Healer" team. While I do use my heals, liberally where necessary, being relegated to nothing more than a backseat healspambot isn't an enjoyable playstyle for me. Being offended by the label has nothing to do with it - I have limited time to play, and I choose to play on teams that roll the same way I do. It's more fun and less hassle that way.

The new 10 -20 contemt is coop.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Has this been confirmed by a redname? The way the announcement is written gives me the impression that 35-50 is co-op (or perhaps parallel, like Ouro), but the 10-20 content is heroes only.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
A fair assessment would be one that says "DA Brutes have powers that make them really strong when fighting against a room full of opponents, but rather weak against single, Mez-protected superbads. They won't be hunting AVs while solo, and of course one-on-one PvP isn't going to be their strong point either. So if you do a lot of fighting against the lone uberopponent and like to tell everyone how you did the LRSF alone, DA is probably not for you. But there's no better Brute to have around when you've got some nitwit on the team who just aggroed 5 mobs--those baddies will be so busy trying to decide whether to cower or stagger that the DA Brute will mop the floor with them and look good doing it."

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This has been my experience.

    Also, Reiraku wears women's clothes.

I still have some concerns about the viability of completing TFs for casual, non-SG players. However, I do appreciate that the devs have put the TF change up for testing and commentary rather than presenting us with a fait accompli. This is definitely a step in the right direction.
