Quote:Huh? There's no EB in that tip. Sure, they used the Blade Prince model, but he was scaled down to a lieutenant when I did it.The tip drops as soon as you roll a normal tip drop, from what I could tell. Lots of reports of getting both a normal tip and the special one (which has a special icon to boot, so it's hard to miss). This isn't a repeat of the Halloween tip mission, thankfully.
The tip mission itself can be a little rough, since it has an EB in it, but keep in mind like Katie Hannon and Ernesto Hess, only the leader needs to have completed the tip mission to start the TF. -

As illustrated, repeatedly, earlier in this thread, the so-called "solo option" of gaining Incarnate abilities is overly slow and impractical.
-
Quote:Well they're currently failing as the only viable way to advance as an Incarnate is by these group heavy trials. Where are the solo-friendly small team arcs? As it stands, if I want the big powers at any coherent rate, I have to repeat a pair of trials over and over.Yes, you're right.
They MUST give every possible preferred playstyle something new to do with every single conceivable issue or they fail as a dev team.
This issue was focused around large group content. Find me an issue that catered to every possible subset of players all at once. I can't think of a single one that didn't leave someone out in the cold.
Now I will admit, the trials seem well designed and are fun, but even eating pizza every day gets tiresome. Currently, the solo salvage route for Incarnate XP is slow and clunky and there needs to be a better way to do it. If Zwillinger is going to talk about options, there needs to be actual options available. -
Quote:As some have said, where is the solo-friendly option? Y'know, the two trials seem cool and all, but some of us don't want to do those things ALL the time. You're absolutely right...
Multi-group content is not "the" way.
Neither is solo content "the" way.
Nor are TF's/SF's "the" way.
One thing I've always respected about the team here at Paragon Studios is their ability to cater to many different playstyles and still maintain a game that is, at it's core, just damned fun. There's no one thing that I can put my finger on about CoH and call it "the one thing" that makes it fun; it's a combination of many features and options presented as a whole.
With the Incarnate Trials we've added to the variety and have given more people more options. The Incarnate abilities don't change existing content, nor are they in any way a requirement for current content, even for the new Trials and not having them doesn't make you enjoy something any less. As is the case with most things in CoH, you're only competing with one person...you!
(Heck, even the levels shifts don't practically apply outside of the Trials).
Are all of the aspects of the Incarnate Trials going to be perfect out of the gate? Of course not. Just as is the case with most if not all game design, things get better with iteration and you learn from past experiences.
Wise man once say, "Variety is the spice of life." Loud CM once say, "Options are good!"

Quote:Yeah, there needs to be a better way available than this. I myself often enjoy soloing and/or forming small teams. Raids can be fun, but not everyone likes doing them.Right now, the only path to Incarnate content available to small-team players is the punitive shard->thread conversion. For players who prefer not to raid with big teams, or who can only play a little bit each day, this means a very long, uphill climb toward even the basic rewards.

There's allegedly to be more trials and task forces for Incarnates in the works, apparently involving Praetorian Hamidon and Cole himself if you believe Golden Girl. She keeps harping about it; although, oddly enough, she's been right so far.
However, it would be nice to see solo-friendly arcs for Incarnates that can unlock slots, just for the less grind-minded folks. -

Quote:There are supposed to be future expansions to Lore. Nemesis was mentioned as an example.Noticed something interesting.
Well interesting to me anyway.
Even the Lore Pets are customisable, as in you can colour both their aura AND certain parts of their armour.
Perhaps this is the reason for the lack of other pets, the Praetorian pets, using items mostly available to players, can be customised, other pets would have to be tailored to accept such customisation.
Though perhaps we are seeing the first step towards MM customisation in this, who knows. -
As far as I'm concerned, it's an abstract and can represent anything; money, favors, public respect, etc. From such a viewpoint, everyone wins.

I am also addicted to the costume creator. I've run out of room in my sig for all the alts I've created. I need to figure out an alternate means of listing them.
-
Yeah, I did the same on my time traveling Grav contoller. Stopping people? No prob. Lifting them in the air and now its... um... that just doesn't fit with the concept.

What's a "screan?" Is that some kind of slang for a scream through a window?

And now? Now I have proof.

So. Anyone still want to cling to the belief that Inf is anything other than in-game currency? Because the Devs are clearly treating it as such. -
Quote:There aren't any in Washington state either, as I've never heard of or seen one. They're the largest supermarket chain in the United States. They mainly exist in the Eastern part of the country, but their presence is nationwide, thanks to their purchase of Ralph's and several other chains out West. About the only area in the continental U.S. that doesn't have Kroger-owned grocery stores is from Maryland through Maine, the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions.

What's a Kroger's?
And as for the plaque, with the rate that textual mistakes get corrected in this game (i.e. practically never), it requires Pics Or It Didn't Happen. -
