This issue was rushed and buggy.
Don't you think it's a little early after the release to be saying, "This is making me think of quitting!" Seriously. The issue hasn't been out for 48 hours.
No one pays attention to me, cause I listen to the voices in my head.
If it wasn't obvious, I was on Beta so had a lot of experience before it went live.
That doesn't change a thing that the developers aren't *TALKING* to us.
Still here, even after all this time!
The last patch to Beta did not even get patch notes, was only four days before it went live and no instructions on what it changed. (I *think* it added the long-range bombardment for Lambda, but I could be mistaken.)
|
Out of four Lambda attempts, I have crashed to the desktop three times and been booted twice. And not succeeded once, thanks to all these problems.
|
The developers do not appear to have any desire to actually discuss balance or design issues, probably the worst lack of communication I have ever seen on an issue release in seven years.
|
They did not even have a test phase for the Task/Strike Forces as a focus in Beta that I ever saw.
|
I do think they should allow threads to drop in at least all lvl 50 content, at a reduced rate compared to the trials. This would allow people who don't want to run the trials to progress easier.

Yes I figured you were in Beta. My point still stands. Less than 48 hours since the I20 went live and you are "thinking of quitting" because the Devs maybe a little busy.
Yes there are bugs. Yes, it probably could have cooked a little longer. I am seeing more lag in the last day than I have seen in 2-3 years.
I have done Lamda 3 times, haven't won one yet, but I had fun. People are completing them.

Rushed out the door? They were beta testing it IN SEPTEMBER. As in, before I19! Did you forget?
EDIT: Unlike this post, which was rushed out.
Issue 16 made me feel like this.

Chaining all the rewards to effectively two mission for people to run constantly is a 180 degree turn around. |
Making it so that Incarnate Threads and unlock exp don't drop anywhere else but these two things is pretty darn nasty. They ought to be dropping on all level 50 content, just like shards, even if not at the same rate.
1. Many people have mentioned the "Trial Crash" ie everyone booted from the League and kicked out of the trial. Apparently this was not an issue on the Beta server and is something new. I have only experienced it once.
2. The TF/SF. I liked Mortimer Kal SF but did not care for Admiral Sutters TF. The Hero stuff appears to be a clone of Apex/Tin Mage for lower levels. But the story for both were pretty good. I really did not see anything wrong with either, except for the fact it may be a little to difficult for a PUG team of lvl 20's.
3. There the door, don't let it hit you on the way out.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life. Winston Churchill
There's allegedly to be more trials and task forces for Incarnates in the works, apparently involving Praetorian Hamidon and Cole himself if you believe Golden Girl. She keeps harping about it; although, oddly enough, she's been right so far.
However, it would be nice to see solo-friendly arcs for Incarnates that can unlock slots, just for the less grind-minded folks.
Yeah, I20's been in beta for a very long time. In no means was it "rushed."

The pushing out the last patch without testing in four days is incredibly lax in following procedure. There should have been at least a week or more of testing.
Still here, even after all this time!
I stopped reading as soon as I saw 'rushed'. Testing was extensive. Bugs happen, even with extensive testing. You can't fix a bug you can't reproduce, and if there's a bug that can only be reproduced on live servers then there is no way it can be fixed beforehand.
As for the difficulty of the new trials: well, duh. These are meant to be a cut above the rest of the game's content in that regard. The third phase of the BAF in particular is very challenging. As with all new content, we'll learn by experience, discover the tricks to it and in a few months time we'll have it down to a science.
Bugs and difficulty complaints come standard with every Issue release. That's not to say the latter are without merit, but new challenges are a learning opportunity.

BS. The last patch to BETA was *not* tested. And crashing everywhere, backwards and forwards is the result.
This is the buggiest patch since they had to revert back one time.

This. Or even single team content. Trial and Raid content is BY DEFINITION not casual content, turnstyle interface or no. Mrs. Moo and myself cannot even begin to duo one of these trials.
Yes, I hear 'We really want you to freakin' team, preferably with as many players as possible,' from Paragon. That really shafts dedicated small team players.
The drive to make them 'accessible' content is pretty misguided, IMO. They're about as accessible as a pan of burning grease. Sure you CAN touch it if you want to, but you know ahead of time it's going to hurt.
Right now, the only path to Incarnate content available to small-team players is the punitive shard->thread conversion. For players who prefer not to raid with big teams, or who can only play a little bit each day, this means a very long, uphill climb toward even the basic rewards. For example, Mrs. Moo is still working on her first t2 Alpha since she pretty much exclusively solos or duos (with me). By my, possibly uninformed, estimation, the Shard to Thread conversion is roughly a 5-10x increase in timesink factor. She likely won't have her *first* t1 interface or judgement slot by the time i21 comes out.
That's not a great way to take care of your customers, Paragon.

Ah, it just didn't get any testing so it went to live broken...
Still here, even after all this time!
It seems like most of these issues are a matter of stress testing for the servers, something that is hard to test with our level of beta participation. The quality of these trials is top notch, and emblematic of extended beta testing. To top it off, the last patch merely had to do with localization for French and German. I'm not sure where your argument is grounded, if at all.
This didn't need its own thread. Folks, there are plenty of threads right now on the board where you can express your opinion. Please do not create a new thread unless you're discussing a specific issue that does not already have its own thread.
I'm afraid that I've come to the conclusion this was rushed out the door.

This is the first time since ED was introduced that I've actually felt like seriously quitting City of Heroes.
I'm going to have to call this the worst or second worst issue launch in the game.
