Currently running 11.4, but i might go back to 11.3. Regular teaming/soloing i can play for hours and my client almost never freezes, but Incarnate trials and things like mothership raids frequently cause the client to freeze. Sometimes several times an hour. i can't submit much of a bug report since i never get an error message, just a sudden freeze of the client until i kill it with the task manager.
Edit: One thing that seems to prevent freezing is periodically using /unloadgfx. Ran an Underground trial tonight and after over an hour in the trial, and playing for over two hours before that, the client didn't crash once. -
Eavesdropping and Surveillance Camera.
Also Hidden Microphone/Wire. -
The recurring issue i keep seeing is that people aren't reading what's there. It's like they're just sort of skimming through, making assumptions based on a cursory glance, and then screaming that what they're actually getting doesn't match the details they invented when it does in fact match what's written if they'd bothered to read it all.

Quote:Wrong.VIP's who have not purchased GR do not have access to incarnate content. Ouch.
Quote:Yeah the thing is if you are a VIP you need to purchase GR for incarnate content. Fine!
The biggest issue i see with the points you are failing to make is that you seem to have skimmed the information that's been made available without assimilating or comprehending it. Then you make emphatic statements based on an incomplete understanding because you seem to be ignoring anything that doesn't say what you think it should say. Please, read what's there in its entirety before making posts that are clearly and provably wrong.
It doesn't do your position any favors to make false statements, intentional or not. -
OP: i'd seriously suggest a VEAT. They start off fairly average soloers, but by the twenties they're quite good, and always great when teaming. My personal preferences are the Night Widow and Crab Spider branches. Crab Spider is especially good at wiping out large groups of enemies and Night Widows are very effective against most hard targets.

*OW* Now my brain hurts. Right, i'll get back to you later after the headache subsides.

Quote:Ugh. Urrrgh. BLARGH!For some reason I'm reminded of the time they painted the employee lounge at my one job. First off you have to imagine that all the furniture, carpet, and borders along the walls was a nice dark forest green.
Now try to picture everyones reaction the next day when they walked in to that room to see the green furniture in a room that was painted Pepto Bismol Pink.
Yeah, the walls wouldn't have been pink for very long if i'd worked there. -
Quote:Oh hey there, Boiling Mad, i thought you died in the molasses tsunami of '21; glad to see you're alive and kicking. (Sticking?)I NEEDED the Exploration Badges, and, the Plaque Badge Parts, that were in Galaxy City! WHO was the person, (and, I use that word lightly, at the moment, because I am Boiling Mad,) that thought that it would be FUN to keep players from getting the Exploration Badges, and, Plaque Badge Parts, that are ONLY available, IN Galaxy City?
i see your problem solving and social skills have advanced enormously in the past 90 years. With any luck you'll be prepared to attend a cotillion without a major faux pas or gaffe before the end of this century. And wow, it sure is hard to get used to no sawdust on the barroom floors these days, isn't it? -
"Medieval knowledge of the fabulous beast stemmed from biblical and ancient sources, and the creature was variously represented as a kind of wild ***, goat, or horse."
Basically medieval unicorns were mostly horselike with a goat's beard and cloven hooves. The oldest known versions had them looking more like oxen or donkeys, often very large and fearsome.
So i retract my earlier assertion. The oldest unicorn legends ranged from something like a donkey to enormous and fearsome beasts. It's the medieval versions that had them being more often horselike in their body shape, though often with other features taken from deer, goats and similar animals.
Still, unicorns are less like horses than zebras are like horses. Cloven hooves, goatlike beards and a horn are not very horselike traits. Neither is having a head shaped like a stag's. -
It's true that the original depictions of unicorns depicted them as much smaller and more slender than horses with cloven hooves instead of a horse's one piece hoof; basically far more like a goat or gazelle in appearance.
Hell, just take a look at the Unicorn Tapestry in the Cloisters in New York City if you want to see a traditional unicorn. Of course centuries of legend and tradition is negated by the 20th century airbrushed depiction of a beefy horse with a horn from a poster if you saw the poster first. That's just how it is. (For some.) Anyway the modern version looks like it would feed someone for longer. -

Quote:Uh, wait, you take out the puffballs instead of Rommy? Rommy is overall easier to kill. Not to mention there is no reward for defeating the puffballs and there is for Rommy, who will kill one of the puffballs for you each time you defeat him if you maintain LOS between Rommy and the puffball...Detention field with a couple cheap +Mez Hami-Os locks down every AV I've tried it on up to and including Ghost Widow in the STF lieutenants fight. One shot, and the fight is that much easier. Romy doesn't beat on us with his sword while we burn down his angry puffballs.
Now Detention Fielding one of the puffballs i could see, but Rommy himself? -
Note that initially it only displays the description. You have to click the detailed info tab for the exact numbers.

Quote:Oh, i quite agree. While i would not object to Paragon Studios doing something for us in compensation for the aggravation it has caused many players i don't have any particular demands of my own.In general, I dismiss requests for compensation for MMO downtime, but I gotta say -- this is exceptional downtime, as such goes.
Well, i would ask that they don't bring back the pirate costume offer. That would annoy me. A lot.
Implementing Carp Melee and Carp Armor would be acceptable.
i know. Aside from not having a Great Glass Elevator i'm rather comfortable with that. -
We had a customer who had us plasma cut a lacework band into a .25" aluminum plate as part of her sculpture. She thought it looked great until she saw it was visible from both sides of the plate. She wanted cutouts through only one side of the plate. As in you could look through the cutout plate of metal to whatever was on the other side, but only from one side.
So, how would your "the customer is always right" philosophy resolve a demand that involves violating conventional laws of spacetime? -
He goes down fighting and no one ever knows the sacrifice he made so that others could escape.
Actually, in CoH his sacrifice could be witnessed after the fact through many different methods, so it's not unlikely his actions would be remembered. -

Dammit! Another victim of Dr. Wrong and his Wrongbots! When will they learn?!
When. Will. They. Learn?!
If it's in a context related to playing the game then the EULA is relevant.
Or did you mean "if the EULA does not support my position it's irrelevant to my argument"? -
Quote:Kicking open the trunk of a car *is* impressive, but i'm far more impressed that he somehow loaded three shells into the chamber of a pump shotgun. Unless chamber for some reason is used to refer to magazines on Primal Earth.Ha! I especially like how he "kicks" open his trunk, and then Blue Steel has a cameo - in which he does absolutely nothing.
Between kicking open car trunks and loading multiple shells the good detective is definitely showing potential for out-badassing Blue Steel.
*ahem* "A pump gun is typically fed from a tubular magazine underneath the barrel, which also serves as a guide for the pump. The rounds are fed in one by one through a port in the receiver, where they are lifted by a lever called the elevator and pushed forward into the chamber by the bolt." -
And now there's apparently a fix that can be applied without taking the servers down, so they will stay up after all.
-
i logged in for a while (edit: on Champion) with a level 3 lowbie with no problems, even got to level 4, but i saw a numerous reports from people with higher level characters who were receiving no rewards at all.

i find it interesting only in the sense that there are occasional brief sparks of insight in what otherwise appears to be narrowminded vacuity. This is generally not something i find fun. YMMV, of course.
To elaborate, i've seen her make assertions many times where her only argument in support of her position is that it's true because that's the way it is. No logical justification other than she believes it to be so therefore it is no matter what. -
Quote:Well, the servers were back up and running after much less than the expected downtime, but then an issue cropped up that requires taking them back down again for another hour or so.Can I trouble one of you tech experts to translate Freitag's post for me?
They discovered an issue that ... caused them to bring the servers back sooner than planned? Does that mean they had to abort the hardware upgrade (and therefore that they'll do it another time), or does it mean that somehow the upgrade turned out to be easier (faster) than they'd thought?
Just curious; it seems like an odd way to phrase a good event.
So it's basically a mixed bag.
