Quote:Ah, okay, i do remember reading that one."The Pastry Elves' laugh should be less bubbly and more tinkly. Our giggle should remind you of gazing at the stars as a child, and our smile should make you think of the taste of honey on a cool spring morning."
I wish I could remember one of the other BAB quotes- something like "I want to change the Martial Arts assassin's strike but I know I'll get an angry PM from someone named Horse Stance Groinpuncher about how I destroyed their character concept."
With the recent addition of alternate animations Dr. Groinpuncher could keep his Nutshot of Doom while others use a different animation. Power customization is one of the better post-launch additions.
i wonder if it's possible to have alternate animations use alternate sounds? -
Quote:Well, blasters benefit even more than the others from damage buffs due to higher base damage and caps, and they, like any AT, can also take leadership to supply force multiplication of their own. In my opinion more than two Blasters on a team contributes more to team effectiveness than multiple Tankers or Scrappers. Controllers and Defenders still contribute the most in a team setting, but even there more than 2 of most powersets on the team tends to result in diminishing contributions, which is not true with Blaster powersets.the more I look at it across different threads, the more it seems blasters need more tweaking:
they dont provide enough "cannon" to counteract their "glass", i mean if a blaster can do 280 DPS, a scrapper could do 230 while being 5x as tough. Thats just plain disproportionate....
In teams they apparently dont even contribute damage anymore is everyone makes everyone else do more damage, meaning a team of 8 can outdamage a blaster on the team...
what the heck is the point of blasters nowadays? -
i resemble that pronoun. (As if there would be much doubt.)
Getting sigged for stating the obvious is rather amusing.
19 is a rather impressive minimum raid size. i've been at raids where a good chunk of it was accomplished with ~30 random players, but i would expect 19 would require a little more coordination of powerset and AT distribution. -

Quote:Very nice.just updated my calender on virtuetaskforce.guildportal.com
january is set
all task forces at 8 pm pacific mon-friday (11pm est)
sat and sun are early ones ( start at 11am pac/2 est)
ALSO
dont forget master of itf with 62.5 (each) x 8= 625 million ( inf or infamy)
to winner with moitf and fastest time at 5 pm on january 2nd 2010
'Master of' runs are nice, but lack the insanity i usually enjoy in normal TF runs. Still, i have a bunch who could use the badge.
....
They should add 'Divine Wind of' badges for TF's completed within a certain time and over a certain number of deaths. -

Westley threads are probably the only place where you'll see a thread sidetracked from the original topic by the the third post and it'll be the OP doing it.

Quote:i would compound your disappointment, but i don't have the heart to do so right now. Blame it on the holidays and the influence of $deity. Otherwise i probably would make light of his predicament. He said excuse the rant several time. He was flustered, and to be honest, who could blame him. He stands at a precarious precipice. All it takes is a mod who DOESN'T know him to see it. Making light of his predicament is hardly the reaction I expected. I am honestly disappointed.
Free server transfers have inspired me to move some long dormant alts to servers i play more. Now things like transparent torsos and Malaise Pants have drawn allegations of hacking, so i'm slightly worried that an over-enthusiastic GM will generic some of my irreplaceable costumes, but what's the point of having them if they're not worn? -
Quote:Fire/Kin Controller, Fire/Psy Dom? i mean assuming you factor in the need to survive the response so that they can continue using the AoE's.this was brought up in a different thread in regards to damage contribution, but:
who else provides AoE damage like the average blaster can?In terms of personal AoE damage, and assuming teammates providing the support/aggro control to survive the aggro generated, then Blasters can be best with the right sets. Which is still not the same as total damage contribution when on a team.

Quote:The lowest-numbered one on at the moment?Re-read what you responded to with this. They're not there to click on in the scenario. Now, which character gets friended in this multi-name scenario?
How about when someone says "Can you invite my friend, Uber Rikti?", and you type </i Uber Rikti>? -
Quote:*hehehe*Alright, I'm done with this thread. I've already canceled my game account, and none of you who've responded are able to do anything about my concerns with the game or NC's ludicrous pricing model, so there's nothing left for me to do here. My point was that I think NC's pricing model is morally wrong, and hopefully I've been able to persuade at least a few people that they don't deserve your hard-earned money for such minimal content add-ons, when you're already paying them a subscription fee. If not, then so be it. Enjoy!

Wait, you're serious?

Sorry, i can't take that assertion seriously enough to give a coherent response. Read the other responses instead since i agree with them anyway. -
Quote:Uh, what? Almost no Controller secondaries deal much damage, and those that do do not get the containment bonus. Controller primaries set up containment damage and deal it as well. In fact there's really no point to having the Blaster use any mez since the first Controller to attack using his primary would set up containment for subsequent attacks. How about any blaster with a mez setting up containment for a team of 'trollers that only use their secondaries - that's about 80 odd % -
Overall your suggestion makes little to no sense. If the Controllers aren't using their primaries they won't benefit from setting up containment, and if they are there's no need for the Blaster to do so. It's a very unlikely and silly scenario where the Blaster is still only really contributing their normal damage output. -
i remember the no fog period. i think i might still have some screenshots of that somewhere.

Welcome back. Virtue also has regular Hami raids, it's actually pretty common to have two in a row, on both sides as well as Mothership raids. Champion also has regular raids.

Quote:No guessing was required, and i agree that even just general computer knowledge, as you mentioned, would be enough to realize how off-base the OP's statements were. 'Twas just a bit of fun and whimsy, mostly at my own expense.Nope, I was just letting Schismatrix know that he didn't have to guess at my credentials. I'm pretty open about my experience.
Me, i'm far too ignorant of such matters, any and all matters, to make such statements myself. Except when i do, i guess. -

Another game already does a charactername+account name system, and it's clunky and more than a bit ugly. There is no effective way of allowing multiple uses of the same name on the same server without doing something along the localcharactername@accountname clunkiness route or creating lots of problems for communication and team invites. Even now you can you can make 'Ultra Derivative Man1175' on a server if you feel the need without saddling the first 'Ultra Derivative Man' with a number after his name. Adding the number invisibly until it's specifically necessary is not a practical or elegant solution.

Quote:Typing '/unbind enter' should do it if i recall correctly.i finally switched a toon over i havent played since forever and whenever i press enter it says "unknown command hello" and i am unable to type in chat without clicking in the box. i dont remember what exactly i typed but i think its a beginchat bind. how can i unbind it if i dont remember the original bind?

Quote:Oh blah, i have no idea. i do recall that it ended up in my spam folder last closed beta and i didn't even notice it until after it had already gone to open beta. The beta forums showing up in the list would've been a big tip-off, but i have my bookmark set to take me straight to the English forums instead of the main page, so i didn't notice that either.By the way, what email address do they usually send info like invites from? I need to whitelist it.
This time i'll be keeping a closer eye out.

Quote:Amusingly, he's gone to 3 red dots in about 24 hours. i'm hoping that's from more than just this thread, but after looking at his posting history once already i'm not interested enough to look again.I'm glad you've taken your trolling from in-game straight to the forums. Who needs to learn lessons anyway?
Or, to quote Johnny Rotten as portrayed in Sid & Nancy: "Boring, boring, boring, boring, Sidney." -
