Quote:thanks I'll give that a goThere is a way to make the messages show it chat. I finally found it after having the same problem. If you edit your chat tab, on the right under Available Channels, you should notice a space between two of the options; somewhere between Arena and Combat Warnings. It is actually the chat for the contacts calling mid-mission, but doesn't have a name so shows as a blank space. Add it to Selected Channels and you should be able to see the messages in your chat window.

Quote:Lack of end mitigation is the big kicker for me. With Stamina not being available until level 20, the END of Praetorian content, all there is, is insps and endrec enhancements; which at TO and DO levels, suck.
My experience is markedly different to yours. I'm not experiencing any undue End difficulties on a variety of toons in Prey
It's not a problem. -
Quote:When I first mentioned it, I used the keyword designed refering to the actual design process. It was wholly irrelevant on whether it was standalone at all, it was still designed as an MMO expansion and not as a sequel. The basic gameplay is 100% identical in both CoH and CoV because it's the same game, just different flavors of content. That was the point I was getting at when I made the comparison between GR and CoV as retail expansions.
Most of the responses I got though reek of blind nerdrage and blatant trolling behavior like Forbin_Project is doing. Not the type of things that are remotely constructive, and pretty disappointing that a community that used to be praised for the lack of this type of behavior, has had it become rampant in the past 2 years.
I'd agree with you. The way CoV was released was in itself confusing and I think there's a kind of acknowledgement from PS that this was not ideal. However at the time that was a combination of Cryptic and NC... Now the only obstacle to the game's success is NCSoft and it must be difficult for the Dev team in Paragon Studios to be producing such great content to find themselves constantly thwarted by the numpties at head office.
But aside from that little sidetrack CoV and GR are designed to compliment the original game City of Heroes - and both are severely lacking without the base component -
that's ace.
But then it was kind of inevitable in one way -
Quote:With Praetoria being only for NEW created characters and even then only from lvls 1-20, a big chunk of the expectation was cut out of the game for me.
On top of that Incarnate system being delayed and failing to see any other kind of end game system. The ONLY thing for a lvl 50 to do is change their alignment and do Cathedral of Pain (at least as far as I know, because if there is more it's not readily apparent).
So after moving my Dom and MM to hero side.. it's like ok what to do now? Same stupid stuff I been doing for a while already. Going Rogue was not the overhaul thing game needed. And right now all that hype seemed just that, hype.
Waiting for the first issue after an expac's release is not the way to go about doing things. Not only that but no archs were touched... no new pool powers, or travel powers. Couple added main power sets. Of which Demon Summoning is interesting (but been playing that for months now) and Elec control looks interesting, but since controllers/doms are my fav arch I've played all the ones I care to. No urge to level an elec/
I doubt the explosion of population will last that long. Many people have come to the same conclusion as I have already. Only the die hard CoX fans are ecstatic about it all.
So let me get this straight...
You've done every single piece of content, spoken to every contact, done every single mission, done the new arcs and Trials and reworked arcs and levelled 4 toons with the new powersets to 50 already.
In less than a week.
I take my hat off to you. -
Quote:Gif space stashun nao plx, kthxbaiThe diversity is great!
This is a game based on the super hero comic genre, which is itself greatly diverse, not only over titles and publishers but over time.
I want City of Heroes AND City of Villains AND Praetoria.
It doesn't have to be either-or.
And if someone just want one particular style... it's there and they should stick with it.
Asking, or even *insisting* that all aspects of the game conform to that one style is pretty... parochial? selfish? short-sighted? -
I've not been too bothered by this, but a related issue that's come since I17 is the offscreen contact phoning messages in to you during mission.
Now those messages are often obscured by my GUI and they fade too bloody quick to be read and so far as I can tell there's no record of them in the chat dialogue. -
If you look at some of the road design in Paragon, Skyway especially springs to mind, you'll understand why nobody ever wants to drive a new car in CoH.
-
Difficult road to go down. Once it happens to one zone then there'll be a hige clamour for it to happen to all and as WW and Posi have said it's almost as much effort to revamp a zone as to make new ones and I think I'd rather have the content they've promised rather than shiny.
Praetoria is fantastic but there's not a huge amount wrong with the existing zones, other than "things to do" in some of them and that can be fixed in places like Boomtown, Eden and Dark Astoria with a "Meg Mason" type contact and maybe something similar in the Isles zones that get little travelling.
One of the biggest things I noticed when I finally got to making villains is you quickly outlevel many of the villain zones - the jump from Cap au D to Grandville leaves out a LOT of content. Maybe it needs to be better organised. -
to be honest the whole Defiant/union thing is a bit silly now, but if you do make a toon on Defiant then feel free to at @Riff to your globals and come say hi

Aye very smooth launch and few if any bugs at all apart from the Cossie slot thing

If the OP doesn't comprehend the value of information there's not much can be done to help him.

Quote:If we didn't then there'd be an excess supply of unused U's, which would breed like tribbles in a granary and before you know it we'd be up to our armpits in rogue vowels.
Would the vowels Go Rogue though? and if so would they become consonants or accents?
The OPs premise is fundamentally flawed because he's failed to consider the trans-atlantic implications of his statement. -
Praetoria reminds me of London: Fantastic to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. Give me Kings Row any day as a place to call "home"

Quote:And no redname response or acknowledgement of the problem with the Cert, DNS or the uncertainity with packs.
I'm going to Report this post myself in an attempt to Summon Redname who can clear up the technical issues with all of these things.
Good plan I'll join you -
