don't worry mate. Even if we can't see it, it's how we all think of you so you've got your wish
  2. I love challenges and it's refreshing to get something that can be a ****** - the trouble is I really don't like this trial.

I'm not completely sure what I dislike it so much - perhaps because it's so overwhelming and it's tough to get to know what you need to do and to get everyone else there. It stopped being interestingly challenging a while back and now it's just a pain and it's hard to get people interested in it.

It does seem to be the least popular of all the incarnate content, so that suggests the balance isn't right and it does need tweaking.
  3. I frequently get the following error from the Launcher:

    Quote:
"Attempted to red or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt."
When this happens I can restart it but it causes me all kind of troubles, especially lots of lag. Any clue as to why this happens? So far as I can tell my memory is good quality and I don't suffer any other issues.

This should have been a major event in the history of the city that involved every hero in the game.

By the time you reach your teens, the invasion is repelled, the shivans are destroyed, the meteors are mostly removed, and parts of Galaxy City have even been rebuilt.

MMO time is a weird thing. The Shivans are going to be stuck in the tutorial forever, just like Salamanca is stuck forever.

There's got to be a better way to tell this kind of story in the game, and have it involve everyone, not just a quickie intro to the game that vanishes as soon as you're old enough to leave Atlas Park.

As for Detective Ghady, I'd like to think that the story we have so far is not the end of his story. I guess we'll see.

it's a problem with time and fiction. Stan Lee said it best, describing how Peter Parker never stopped being a teenager or the Fantastic Four getting old and wrinkly. He simply said "Marvel time doesn't work the same as normal time" and I guess MMO time works on the same principle.

There's nothing to say that we won't find ourselves battling the Shivans in the battle of our life sooner than you think!
  5. Good story. It cannot be concluded by the nature of the game. The Shivan invasion is ongoing until further notice so there's no simple resolution. It's a flavouring... it's giving us something to work with in the background as we as player characters take up the cause and attempt to drive the Shivans back from Galaxy.

Don't get it twisted. I don't think any compensation outside of an extra day or two double exp is necessary (due to ALL the extra downtime, not just today). I find the request for any $ or PPs to be a poor idea.

I don't agree that we should be compensated - but I do think that Paragon's communication has been below par in this instance. These maintenance windows are hitting the EU especially hard. Most of yesterday and a huge chunk of today and that's on top of what we've had already, and the most we get is a "we apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding." It's a bit poor really.
  7. I notice we've got another eight hours of downtime today - but interestingly we've not been invited to take part in discussing that

This is getting a bit silly now. Upgrade the servers 2 weeks back and then upgrade them again and again. Seems to me somebody got it badly wrong the first time
  8. Didn't we have a massive server maintenance just recently?

    /em frustration

Not my logic. Careful not to put words in my mouth

But think on this... sometimes your game is off. You can't come to the crease and smash a century of 20 balls... maybe you'll get out for a duck... or you bowl your best spell ever and still get carted around the field without a wicket to your name.

Sometimes it's tough to achieve a goal and in achieving it against the odds often gives a greater sense of satisfaction. It's level 20 for a reason. I bet you that you'd enjoy it if you got a toon to 20 and ran it immediately. Being 50 and exemping is your own issue and nothing to do with the content

Well I've had several but those got deleted. Exemping is part of the game system and works very well. By your logic we should skip the first 49 levels and go straight in to 50.
  11. I really can't see a problem with it being lvl 20. Are you suggesting that you can only be a hero once you achieve lvl 50?
  12. Look what I got in the post... the mystery prize was well worth it
  13. I'm loving it... very desolate and some great stories. I haven't completed it all (so no spoilers please) but there have already been a few "oh wow" moments.

    End Game Content

I guess it depends what the OP wants and expects but there's a huge amount to do here - from 1-50 and beyond. Many people have pointed out a lot of the stuff but apart from anything else there's what... 13 (I may have missed some) ATs to explore... and of those ATs there are many sub-variants. Once you've found one AT you like you'll probably have a lot of fun enjoying playing with the possible combos.

As many have already said, the journey is the important thing and there is some seriously outstanding content in the game. (There's also some dross but that's the minority these days and easily skippable.)

There is end game which isn't totally complete yet but while getting to that there's inventions, and plenty of trials and TFs and badges and all sorts. There's enough here to make you wish you had a lot more time!

    Enjoy it all

    Hoverboard...

could it be skinnable to get a different look? I'd even pay for that

I've got a character called Flying Fortress - a tribute to the fliers of the 8th USAAF who flew from "Somewhere in England" between 42-45 and the hoverboard works very well thematically but could look a lot more retro. Something that actually resembled a Fort - and actually making it look like a B24 Liberator would be very easy...)

That's the inspiration and I'm sure with a few other variants that just look different there'd be a few more Paragon Point sales too.
  16. I'd just ask... people will be flattered you noticed and glad to respond

    Saying Hello

    Welcome to the fun house!
  18. I'm thinking that TOs may serve more of a purpose once the initial frenzy has abated a touch and players totally new to the game (and some returnees) join. Not everyone will run the new sewer trials all the time - there's still other stuff that can be done - so I'd be very reluctant to see any changes to the system while it's still new and shiny.

But that said some simplification to the whole Enhancement system would be good. Personally I'd love to see a drop down for SOs/DOs based on Origin so that only those available can be selected - that would make life a lot easier. (And changing ambiguous colours would help a lot especially when the symbol's the same... Defence/Resistance is especially true here.)
  19. so although maintenance was frustrating, here's my initial thoughts on Freedom

The best analogy I can use is like this... I've been playing the game a long time now, about 5 1/2 years... and it's like being in a relationship with someone... you know how it goes, you love her, but the passion's not what it was and there's a sense of sameness about it. You get into a routine and there's a lack of adventure in the relationship. You wouldn't change her for anyone but it's a tad... stale.

Then suddenly, she turns up on your doorstep, wearing a super-sexy lil black number, carrying a crate of your favourite beer and two tickets to a whole test match (other sporting events are available) and with a big smile says "let's party!"

Also... Westley now you know how it feels to have your global handle stolen simply because you were European and some trial account in the US got your global like 3 years after you joined.

    suck it up!
  21. so that the EU will be asleep when the NA get the best names

    That is all
