  1. I must admit I'm pretty ambivalent about it.

(and I'm also suspicious of the whole thing - I am fully expecting a twist in the tail that will effectively maintain the status quo)

For me, most of the sig characters don't have a story that really stands out for me and makes me want to buy into rooting for them. Perhaps maybe Synapse because he has been portrayed as so whiny and such a loser when the reality seems he's actually got one of the back stories with the greatest potential.
  2. Being slightly tangental, and hopefully not trying to derail - but shouldn't we have a broad spectrum of villainy? I'm thinking along the lines that the great villains are generally great (rather like heroes to be fair) because they stand head and shoulders above their peers.

In fiction generally, there generally seems to be a standout villain, surrounded by other bad guys who range from the thug to the downright incompetent, and the odd psycho just for good measure.

I guess that's one problem with a mass-media game - if your villain is highly noticeable, then unless other villains are less so, or it becomes the median and then less great. Greatness is generally a comparative measure I suppose because of it's ephemeral nature perhaps. If all are great who notices?

Perhaps in game terms this is a problem with the story and the path we take. We're mostly lackeys and patsies, rather than genuine game-changing villainous characters that have everyone in awe.

Sadly I have no idea how to overcome that particular hurdle.

    Three Man Slam!

One of the fun things I like to do is run content on small teams, especially task and strike forces - but I've not seen anyone mention this on Exalted.

I wonder if anyone's up for a regular 3 (wo)man team - if you are pop a note in this thread.
  4. UK time is EST +5, PST +8

European time (CST) is +1 to the UK and generally you'll find a lot of EU players on from 6pm in the evening so after lunch Stateside. But once the US peak time comes on most of us will be asleep if there's any justice

    Here's a good way to check: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/
  5. Dunno if anyone is interested in a series of all VEAT Strike/Task Forces. I thought a nice VEAT ITF might be a nice way to start and then run though the others.

Also possibly all VEAT BAFs or Lambda trials etc.

If anyone's interested pop a note here and we'll see what was can get going.

  7. Just wanted to say thanks for this guide. It's transformed my Huntsman from a squishy wimp into a near-indestructible killing machine!

One quick question - I believe there have been issues where choosing the Crab Spider options automagically mean you have the crab backpack - which is something I'm very keen to avoid but some of the crab secondary options. Is that WAI, and if I took any crab powers am I condemned to having the spider arms?
  8. Thre's not much about Incarnates I actually like. The trouble is, it's the bulk of the content that's being run so if you want to do something other than DFB or solo it's that or yetanother*yawn*ITF

Edit to add I'm with Dante on the fact it effectively junks the existing good content.

    Winter Superteam

Interesting idea. I could be up for this

    Longer Bios

There's a case to be made for longer bios, but as many have pointed out, not everyone reads the longer ones.

Perhaps what could work would be an in game "extract" or short form of the bio, then a link to some web page where the longer form exists for those interested.

Sadly I doubt there's a cost benefit to Paragon Studios, but maybe that's something the team at Titan could think about?

Why the hell do you call it football anyway? It's not like anyone really touches the ball with a foot much.

  14. I've been saying this for a long time.

I understand why there are so many temp powers, but they are horribly disorganised and contribute most to the mess IMO.

I guess one initial solution would be to have two categories of temp powers: Earned Temporary Powers and Purchased Temporary Powers.

Similarly Inherents could be subdivided - and also use both sides of the window for other powers. I woudln't object if it became a full screen like enhancements but that may take some tweaking when you want to slot specific powers
  15. Purples do have their place but that's mostly in the Auction house earning you huge stacks of inf with which to create a build that works for you
  16. Tony just wanted to say really appreciate the work you chaps are putting in on this, and the regular updates. As a player who uses some of your services, it's not great when they go down but you're more than making up for it with excellent communication, so thanks!
  17. I'm not really sure why this is a huge thing for the OP.

As has been pointed out, it's not terribly different from last time by all accounts and if you don't like teaming, then don't team. Sure there are some things in this game that require teaming, and some that require you to be solo.

Seems to me that the whole point about an MMO is that you can't please all the people all the time.

    Hero Skin Borked

recently, I've noticed the login bug has abated somewhat... I've only had to log once every day which is consistent with the 24 hour thing.

The last couple of days I've remained logged in though - which is refreshing and could coincidentally be connected to the back end work that's borked the width?

From where I'm sitting the borkedness (is that even a word?) is minimal and quite liveable with - though I'm on Firefox 6 and I've not checked it on other browsers.
  19. If this is WAI then excellent!
  20. Actually, whilst I think for some vet players the DFB may be percieved as an issue, I mostly agree with Moo that this is good for the game.

So what if it gets run by some players over and again. Sooner or later they are going to realise that there's a lot more to this game than the DFB and having learned the mad skilz they need in DFB go out and find them.

I don't want to see too many other trials... and nothing that would lead on from 20+ because there's plenty of good content in the game to do now and the old content is good to visit from time to time too.

It's a very good way of introducing new players to the game and letting them learn the ropes easily and then expanding on that.

My guess is technically you could exemp to level 2 at 49 and run through a series of similar missions to get the same xp per mob.

Super Jump is more thematically appropriate for certain characters. I have a Willpower/Stone tank that looks outright silly with Ninja Run active.

I have two characters that use the Rocket Board. Neither of them have toggles. I like having a travel power that I can use in mission without having to worry about turning my defenses back on before I leap into a group of enemies.

Oh, that's another thing, you can have Flight and Stealth active at the same time.

That doesn't address my central suggestion.

My plan doesn't preclude you having inherent Flight and taking stealth too. SJ may well be faster, once it's slotted but standard wtih one slot or maybe even a couple it's still slower than NR& Jump. But even if those powers are inherent there's no change there.

Like many here, you've not actually said why having an inherent travel power is a bad thing
  23. Thanks chaps. The answer was simply a rental issue, I'd clearly not paid as recently as I'd thought - although I haven't seen any notices to say my rental was due.

Anyhow, all solved so thanks for the replies.

I feel silly, oh so silly....
