    Sun Goddess

The presence drifts, as it has done for perhaps eternity, unseeing, unknowing, unintelligent, non-corporeal. It drifts across void of an unnamed, unknown dimension, trackless, barren and empty. Thus it is, thus it has always been.

Thus it might always have been, but no. Others give them names, others cower in fear. Some refer to them as gods, and some as devils. Humans call them Rikti. They came to this barren place, their great machines punching holes in the fabric of the dimension’s reality, connecting it to the rest of the multiverse.

The Rikti left, seeking more conquests, other places to pillage and molest. But unknown and unseen, the presence joined them, following through ruptures and portals in space and time. It went without aim or objective, not seeking, or knowing.

Humans call the place they live “Earth” and describe it as part of the Sol system in the spiral arm of the “Milky Way” galaxy. The presence came through to this universe with the Rikti, but here it changed, somehow drawn to the star that gave the Earth life and sustained it. Being a presence without mind, form or consciousness it could not articulate its desire, its lust or need.

Scientists on earth claim that a photon takes 8.5 minutes to reach the Earth from the Sun. They also claim that because the internal matter of the Sun is so dense, it takes millions of years for the same photon to travel from the centre to the edge of the sun. Perhaps they are correct. Or perhaps not. Nobody can really know. Perhaps it’s little fire imps playing photonic tennis. Who can say? Perhaps there’s something magical in the heart of the Sun, or perhaps the Sun itself is a living being. Or perhaps, the strange conjunction of mystical, profane, scientific and righteous energies, all emanating from an otherwise insignificant dot on the face of the earth, known to Humans as Paragon City, had an effect on the Presence as it plunged into the sun.

The Presence merged with, became part of, the Sun, and with that became conscious. It delved deep into the heart of the orb, exploring, discovering, finding itself, learning, revelling in its new self, for the first time in eternity, it could feel. It felt the searing heat of the sun’s reaction, the flames caressing it, it’s bodiless “self” touched, burned, caressed, seared. Each flicker of flame gave it some miniscule measure of form, a body, a physicality it had never experienced. It slowly began to transform from nothingness, to energy and matter.

Time has no meaning to light, and the presence grew, timeless, over millennia. It moved back and forth in time as it learned the rules of this dimension, and how to break some of them. It learned of the shape of the universe, the form and the rules that helped to keep it together. It learned of itself and its needs, but also what it could give. It remembered Rikti, the things that brought it freedom, but only at the cost of [censored] it’s environment. It smelled and feared the damage they did to the multiverse, their unnatural presence – they are abominable, wrong. They needed to be stopped.

The presence burst forward from the Sun and headed towards the Earth, aiming for the small place where the Rikti were most concentrated, the place we call Paragon. Only then, once it had left the safety of it’s life-giving solar cocoon, did it realise how limited it really was. But there, on the edge of the Sun, at the surface, between the Sun and space, it became itself at last. It assumed the form it would take irrevocably, the shape of a human, but different. It knew the form, having read thoughts, magic, perhaps even the radio waves emanating from earth. But this body was fire and light, encased in skin and paradox, tall and physical by human standards but able to blend in amongst the great and the good.

It blasted into space and towards the Earth, it’s journey coming to an end. It became aware that at last, it was mortal, real, furious, vengeful and compassionate. No longer merely a presence or an amalgam of cosmic accidents, this was a living, breathing being, a person with consciousness and a sense of morals and duty. More than that it had a desire for justice, to right wrongs, to restore balance to the universe, to all universes, to all dimensions. It would begin here.

She took very little time to find her niche, where she would do best. She was female, not quite human, but no more, no less. Equal, but born of immense power. Mortal but enduring, her fists, fire-born yet solid like steel, a flaming sword, and breath of flame. Most foes were vanquished swiftly, but even then there were some she could not tackle alone. Not so very long ago, in the place she learned was now called “The Hollows” it found another female hero in trouble. She helped her – and in that helping, formed a friendship worthy of all the aeons of her existence. Her friend, known to all as Scarlet Shocker asked for a name, that first meeting. She looked up through the clouds to the haze covered sun, and the flames dancing across the surface that only she could see.

She smiled at her new friend. “My name is… Corona!”

You need the third SG healing badge to unlock the Combat Logs/Contemplation Charts plans which will allow you to buy BFs from your base medical facilities. This requires 100 million damage healed in SG/VG mode (1st one is 5 million, 2nd one is 25 million). The progress bar for the 3rd SG healing badge is broken.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So does that mean it never happens or we just can't tell when we get it? Will the Auto-Doc dispense BFs automatically or will I need to do something to it?

Bridger, question for you mate: - I've sent 4 invites out, one of which has got lost in the ether. I've got no way to cancel that nor can my friend join. What happens now? They don't join, you don't get a new player, etc etc. What do we do under those circumstances? There's no clear answer on the NCSoft pages nor is there anyone I can apparently contact

I'd be glad of some feedback, cheers

(and yes, spam folders have been checked, regularly)

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not sure what happened to the 'lost' invite, but you should get more invites to send.

If any of the accounts started with the trial codes you sent out get upgraded to a full retail account, you should get a new invite immediately. If none of the trial accounts get upgraded to retail accounts (or if the keys aren't used at all), you should get new invites 30 days after the original ones were sent.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bridger, are you saying I've just got to wait 30 dayS?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Actually, you'll need to wait two months (see my correction above).

If you don't want to wait that long you could contact our Account Support team. Make sure you provide your game account details, the email of the friend you tried to refer, and the date you did it. They tell me they should be able to help.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ok thanks. I'll try that

  6. Guys, our base has almost everything we want except that we've only got basic medical units. Is there any way of improving them so that we don't get the bare minimum of healing when we rez in the base? We seem to have a few SG healing badges, but we've got no obivous option to upgrade.

    Any advice gratefully received

    Memorials?

I love the idea of plaques that can be customised. That, and editable signs (I think this was also covered) would be incredibly useful, as would the odd base sized hero statue.

I can't see that this would be very difficult but given the devs have other issues, maybe it would be a good reward type thing, like a vet reward or somethng?
  8. Isn't that great?

    Positively cucumberlike in its coolness

    Brilliant work Corona
  9. I can't believe nobody bothered to acknowledge this. I love the original take on it. Really good
  10. The Hollows are a dangerous place for a rookie hero, and the Outcast with the stone fists was out to prove exactly that point. “Let’s rock baby” he leered, and let loose a solid left hook directly into the red clad woman in front of him. There was an audible crunch as one of her ribs snapped and she went down felled like a tree with a “whooof” as the wind was knocked out of her. The Outcast grinned “You big girly hero. You die now” and aimed a sharp kick to the woman’s head. She squirmed out of the way and the boot glanced over her cheek, leaving a sharp cut.

The woman grunted and her hand jabbed out, an arc of purplish-blue electricity shot from her fingertips to the Outcast, whose muscles tensed up in reflexive action. Then the woman stood, and wiped her cheek. “Ok, I think this is going to stop now!” With both hands she stretched out and a second, wider arc, flared from her fingertips and felled the Outcast.

The woman panted and leaned against the wall of a building. She was tall, very tall, dressed from head to toe in bright red spandex and leather, a mask covering her eyes, an ironic nod to disguise. She rubbed her cheek and gingerly felt her ribcage, cursing David Wincott softly under her breath, although not too maliciously. After all, she had volunteered to take the assignment. Just run across the Hollows and bring some Outcasts to justice.

“So the Hollows is where to make your name is it?” she muttered. Well, that was the general consensus of opinion. The Hollows was where most of the rejects from Paragon hid out, Trolls, Outcasts and Circle of Thorns being some of the most popular. Tough, arrogant and vicious, the inhabitants of the Hollows hunted in packs like wolves. “Well come on Rosie, make your name.” She pushed herself off of the wall and began to jog into the Cherry Hills.

The sun was setting. It was going to get even more dangerous. She slowed her pace, aware suddenly that she was being followed. She grimaced as the guttural voices of the Trolls revealed her pursuers, loping behind her. She would need to make her first shots count. She crouched and braced her arm, extending her fist before up and concentrated, the force of her will harnessing the static in the atmosphere and releasing it in a huge bolt from her fist. It felled the lead troll before he even saw it coming, and a couple of further blasts took out the second, but then they were upon her, mauling, punching and stabbing.

She was on borrowed time from the moment they closed to hand to hand range and even though she had whittled the numbers down, one injured woman against three Trolls was never likely to be a positive result for her. Hand to hand fighting was not her forte in the first place. Within moments, she was on her knees, battered and bruised and taking a pounding. She struggled to maintain consciousness, warding of blows and clubs, barely noticing the light that suddenly exploded in front of her - a burst of flames that shielded her, and suddenly the trolls were blasted back by a flaming flurry of fists.

A sudden silence descended. The woman rolled over, hurt and panting. “Fuff… thanks.” She looked up at her saviour, a tall female, busty, with pointed ears, golden skin and flames emanating from her skin.

“You’re welcome,” she responded, in a voice that echoed of stars and time. “I am Corona.” She extended a hand and helped the red-garbed woman to her feet, and then had to look up, with a raised eyebrow. “I know you. Didn’t you used to be Rosie La Rouge?”

The woman nodded with a grin. “Used to be? I like to think I still am.” She wiped a hand across her cheek. “But now I go by Scarlet Shocker.”

“I watched you on the TV when the Freakshow attacked your last performance,” remarked Corona. “It was impressive.”

“Thanks. It’s what made me come here, trying to make a difference. What about you?”

Corona looked down. “I can’t go home. So I stay here and do what I can.”

    “Why not? Where’s home?”

“Far away. That’s a story for another time. So, what are you doing alone in the Hollows?”

Scarlet grunted. “Well, stupidity can’t be ruled out.” Then she grinned. “I’ve got to take some Outcasts into custody. I could use a hand, if you’re up for it.”

Corona grinned and extended her hand sideways, and a flame shot out from it, and formed the shape of a scimitar. “It would be fun. Let’s go”

The run across the Hollows was quicker on the second leg. Trolls and Outcasts aren’t renowned for their bravery. Nor are they renowned for their intelligence. Which explained why there was no guard on the door of the abandoned office. Corona didn’t even have to break it down. It wasn’t locked.

Corona grimaced. “It stinks in here.”

“Ever seen an Outcast take a bath?” remarked Scarlet dryly.

The door opened into a long corridor. The pair moved down it cautiously, only the sound of Corona’s flaming sword, and Scarlet’s sparks making a sound. The rounded a corner, and stopped. Before them, armed and waiting, stood at least fifteen Outcasts, ready for action. There was a pregnant pause as both sides eyed one another up, then an explosion of action. The Outcasts launched themselves forward, guns and knives and baseball bats. Scarlet pointed at the lead and launched a stunning blast of electricity at him, flooring him instantly. Corona piled in, fists and flames and sword whirling. But despite the superior skill of the heroes, the outcasts numbers began to tell, and more entered the fray from a mezzanine above.

“Run Scarlet” yelled Corona, backhanding a knife wielding outcast across the face and knocking him back, unconscious. Scarlet did not need to be told twice. She squeezed out a bolt that bounced between a few of them, stunning them temporarily, and bolted, Corona close behind, the outcasts hot on their tails. The cannoned out of the door, Scarlet first and straight into the midriff of a half-naked, tattooed giant.

“Well, what have we here?” he boomed, deftly pounding an outcast over the head. “It seems you ladies may be in need of some assistance. Great Wulf at your service. Perhaps I might join your endeavours.”

“Feel free,” panted Scarlet, rolling lithely to her feet and letting an outcast who was bearing down on her have the benefits of both hand charged with several thousand volts, leaving him writhing on the floor.

“Please do” Corona agreed, then turned and exhaled a long stream of fire into the face of another outcast who screamed in terror and turned to flee, to be felled by the fist of the giant Great Wulf. Within moments, the Outcasts had been dealt with and quelled and the trio stood outside the building.

“Good work people. Thanks for both your help,” Scarlet grinned through grime and bruises.

“Indeed my lady,” boomed Great Wulf. “It was, to coin a phrase, a pleasure.” He bowed, his arm out wide.

Corona grinned and leaned against the wall. “Yes… we should do more. I have a colleague who wants me to help clean up some caves here. How do you like that plan?” Her voice had an odd timbre to it, like a volcano in the distance but with a sibilance that took the edge off it.

“Suits me,” agreed Scarlet. “Let’s go kick some pumice butt.”

    - - - < - > - - -

“Do you suppose it ever gets warm here?” grumbled Scarlet Shocker, surveying the wreckage and rubble of Boomtown.

“It’s cold?” Corona grinned at the red clad heroine, and twitched, her flaming aura flickered and expanding a moment. Great Wulf mimicked Corona with a chuckle.

Scarlet Shocker grinned back at her friends. “You gits!” She shook her head and leapt into the air on some micro-anti-gravity pulsars and surveyed the rubble around them. It was bleak, a collection of destroyed offices and apartments. Twisted shards of metal pointed skywards, stark fingers of despair. A few outcasts in the distance took guard on seeing the heroes. Scarlet ignored them. Clockwork were the object of desire on this occasion.

“Ok people… my scanner’s telling me the target’s half a mile north-west,” said Scarlet and headed off, keeping high, sacrificing speed for safety. Great Wulf and Corona had no such fears, and tanked across the broken ground at a steady run. Few Outcasts even dared to intercept them.

Within moments they were gathered once again at the entrance to the abandoned skyscraper. Corona formed a fist and her flaming scimitar appeared. “Scarlet?”

“We know what to do. I figure we should do this the same.” Scarlet nodded.

“Agreed,” grunted Great Wulf, and with a single blow, smashed the external door from its hinges. Corona dived through, Scarlet second and closed with the Clocks, Corona and Wulf using their immense strength to batter and break, Scarlet using her electrical powers to short circuit and fuse.

No battle with the Clockwork can ever be considered to be a walkover. This one was even worse. Not simply Tesla Knights and Cannon Dukes, but a raft of Princes. Scarlet twice had to use the hospital teleporter, and even Corona needed it once. Great Wulf was seemingly oblivious to all pain, and charged forward at every opportunity. Even so, he was bloodied and bruised by the struggle. Perhaps that is the nature of a hero – not to be cowed in the face of adversity.

Finally, the trio made it to the top of the building, the Penthouse. Corona peered around the corner and paled. “Four Princes.”

Scarlet smiled wryly. “Great… this is gonna hurt! Ready up people.” Wulf and Corona took position, and Scarlet aimed her clenched fist at the lead Clockwork, a massive jolt of electrical power zapping forth, dropping the Assembler Prince to it’s knees. The other three turned and aimed at Scarlet, who’d dived around the corner. Great Wulf and Corona charged them, fists and fire against electro-mechanical monstrosities. Scarlet took up the rear, bombarding them, but one of the princes broke from the melee and charged her, gears whirring, fists clanking, a smashing blow knocking Scarlet backwards to the floor.

Corona spat fire into the face of her opponent and hacked at him with her flaming sword. Great Wulf’s approach was more direct, he leapt on the shoulders of his assailant and slowly twisted the head of the clockwork around, up and off.

Scarlet scrambled lithely to her feet and aimed a burst of electrical energy at the Prince in front of her which writhed and shuddered. Corona and Great Wulf, their own foes defeated joined her and delivered the coup de grace, fire from the two tankers and Scarlet shoving her fist deep into the chest cavity of the machine and unleashing a massive jolt of electricity into it’s chest, melting gears and frying circuits. It crashed to the floor, face down, broken.

    “Fuf,” she muttered.

“Well done, again, my lady,” Great Wulf congratulated her.

“Yes, we did well,” agreed Corona in that sibilant, eerie voice that reflected the sound of a furnace.

Scarlet grinned and dusted herself down. “Yanno chaps, I’ve been thinking. We work really well together… and we’ve become really good friends in the process. Right?”

“It is ever my pleasure to accompany both of you ladies into battle. In my world women do not fight but I am proud to be associated with warriors of your calibre.” Great Wulf puffed out his chest as he effused praise on his companions.

“I like fighting with you” grinned Corona.

“Well… I’ve got news for you guys if you’re interested.” The trio exited the building having quelled the Clockwork menace – for now at least. “I had an idea,” Scarlet continued. “I hope you two think the same. I just think that we work really well together. We’re tight, we are successful and we’ve become good friends.”

    “I agree,” nodded Corona.

“I also heartily concur my lady.”

“I’m glad, because today, I went to Atlas City Hall and filled out some paperwork. I am now the proud owner of a licence to form a Hero Super group, and a licence to build an HQ. I’ve registered the name ‘Shock Tactics.’ I want you to in at the start. I figure that if we make it official, we can build on what the three of us started. Not just a random collection of heroes but a group that has the same philosophy – people committed to working together for the benefit of the group and Paragon.”

“It’s a lofty ideal Scarlet,” said Great Wulf.

Corona grinned. “Where do I sign up?” Her flames flickered reflecting the excitement of her mood. “I love the name… ‘Shock Tactics Assemble’”

Scarlet grinned and went to hug her friend, but withdrew at the last moment, conscious of the flames. Instead she pointed a hand-held DNA scanner at her friend. “There you go… you’re in.” She pressed a couple of buttons. “There you go, you’re co-leader. I don’t want this just to be about me. Mr Wulf?”

Great Wulf grinned. “Scarlet, I would love to join. But I also hope to return home one day and that would divide my loyalties. My people… well I care for them and miss them. I cannot give up working to return. They need me.”

Scarlet nodded. “I understand. I think I’d be the same if I was in your shoes. But, face it Mr Wulf, you’re not going home any time soon. If you do, then great! But meanwhile, I want you on board. I have no problem with your loyalty being divided. While you’re here I know you’ll give your all. If the day comes you get to go home, then I’ll be happy for you, but realistically, something that might happen in the future shouldn’t stop you doing something that can happen today.”

Great Wulf frowned in mock despair. “Your logic is insufferable lady Scarlet. I accept your kind and heartfelt offer. But I do have one question for you – why do you call me ‘Mr Wulf’?”

Scarlet grinned, and scanned him. “You’re in now… and a leader too.” She stuck her tongue out. “And in answer to your question, because ‘@$%& head sounds rude!”

    It's a base, not a home

    [/ QUOTE ]

Totally unlike say... the Baxter Building or Avengers Mansion, or Wayne Mansion then?

If you have a base, it should be livable in, not simply functional.
  12. Guys, so far our base is looking really good... BUT... (isn't there always) I'm trying to find out if we have all the tp beacons available. I think from memory we've got 18 destinations but is that all of them?

(I'm at work right now so can't check for certain)

Also, it seems that to have any economic teleporting, we need to have individual rooms of 2 basic telepads. Is there any way of doing this more efficiently?

    cheers
  13. “Get in here now and get the whole team together!”

Fen Tiger started in his seat, and hit the communicator on the pad in front of him, with a mental “Oh [censored], it’s started!” His voice was calm however when he simply said “Shock Tactics assemble.”

Alexia Flame stood up and looked at the speaker, the unmistakeable, giant form of the Shock Tactics leader and founder, Scarlet Shocker, and offered her a seat. Scarlet looked uncharacteristically dishevelled, hair unkempt, and her makeup smeared. Eye liner had run down her cheeks, leaving black smudges. Electric sparks darted around her eyes and hands erratically, a clear sign of her agitation.

    “Where’s D?” Scarlet asked.

T’lara came close. “He’s on his way Scarlet” she said softly. “He’ll be here ASAP.

    “What about Corona?”

“We’ve got a signal out for her.” T’lara gave a nod to Gravikoi, who scooted to the Control room and began to hammer our on the mainframe keyboard. X-Jen, who had hidden in the room the moment Scarlet appeared leaned in close to Gravi. “What are you doing?”

“I’ve pointed a laser at the sun.” said Gravi, sotto voce. “Now we wait.”

    “Wait for what?”

    “Corona.”

Scarlet lit a cigarette and poured an extremely generous slug of gin – with not very much tonic. Fen and T’lara both exchanged glances sharing concern. Neither of them had ever seen their leader, their friend, like this; grief stricken and out of control. But then, nobody had ever had to deal with this kind of situation – the death of one of their leaders, one of their best friends and most respected members, Great Wulf. His sudden, unexpected death had ripped through them, a tornado on amphetamines, that just shredded their world and turned their beliefs on it’s head. If Great Wulf could die, then they were all vulnerable.

The coms centre beeped. T’lara pounced on it, grateful for the chance to do something, escaping the oppressive brooding silence emanating from Scarlet. She spoke quietly into the mic, then closed the call. “Lord Stone,” she announced. “He’s not gonna make it. He’s out of Paragon… but he promises he’ll get back as soon as he can.”

Scarlet nodded, her face dull, and slumped in a chair. She’d never been one to express her feelings but had always been the engine behind the brotherhood that had become Shock Tactics. She drove it with a quiet dynamism that had made it the success it was. But now it was as though the life had been sucked out of her and she was just a shell, ticking over, drifting. She stubbed a cigarette out, half smoked. It wasn’t long ago she had begun to quit.

“Guest arriving at portal” the automated receptionist announced, and a short woman, in an oversized top hat walked into the meeting room. Scarlet’s head snapped around and her face became angry. Sparks fizzed from her eyes and lips. “What are you doing here Ikle? Come to gloat?”

“Scarlet!!!!!” snapped T’lara. “That’s uncalled for. Ikle, come in please.” T’lara went over to Ikle Flame and gave her a hug. “I’m sorry Ikle, it’s just difficult for all of us.”

“I know T,” Ikle nodded in response. “He was my friend too.” She sat down, pointedly away from the giant woman.

“I’m sorry Ikle, that was uncalled for. You’re welcome of course.” Scarlet was genuinely apologetic. “I guess… I’m sorry.” She swallowed, hard, her grief threatening to overwhelm. “I’m not dealing with this very well.”

The Portal siren beeped and a man strode in, purposefully, dressed in red and black, trailing a wake of flames. Taller than average he was still dwarfed by Scarlet – under other circumstances, their hug might have looked comical. He was the other leader of the team, D. Structor. He strode to the table and took his customary place at Scarlet’s right, and looked around. It was rare to see so many in the group together at one time. Under other circumstances it would have been worthy of celebrating. Adonis, Godsangel, Pink Glide, Bull, Lorne, Blizzara, Gravtorn and Fellina, amongst others.

Corona’s face appeared in the main control screen. “Scarlet, I’m here.” Her voice was hollow and distant, streamed across space.

Scarlet nodded. “So… we all know why we are here then. We’ve lost one of our nearest and dearest. One of the best of us.” Her voice was slightly slurred, but a moment of concentration and suddenly she erupted in an electrical explosion, purging her cells of the intoxicating liquor. “We all know we are taking risks daily but the way this… happened…” She paused and collected her thoughts, standing, sparks dripping from her, betraying her emotions. “This was pre-meditated. They… they intended this to happen. Once we rescued Wulf from them… they had to kill him. The planned this. The Council set out to deliberately take him from us. This is more than just a casualty of war. This is them saying to us, to Shock Tactics, that they have us. That they can do what they want and we can’t stop them.

“But we know different, and we are going to demonstrate that clearly, and precisely. Not just to the Council, but to everyone in Paragon and beyond. We are going to send a message to anyone who listens, and even to those who don’t and say ‘If you take Shock Tactics on, then you are going down, and we will make you hurt!’”

T’lara and D. Structor exchanged glances. This wasn’t what they had expected. This didn’t bode well.
Scarlet continued, “So tomorrow we assemble two teams, Alpha and Beta, and we go to Striga Isle and Steel Canyon respectively. We root out the Council wherever they are and we take them down. We wipe them off of the face of Paragon and we keep doing it until they are extinct! I’ll be leading Team Alpha, D. Structor will be lead the second. We start tomorrow and…”

“Scarlet, you can’t do this.” Corona’s voice, even muffled by her flames and the comms system, was emphatic. “This isn’t sustainable.”

“We’re going to do it Corona,” insisted Scarlet, sparks jabbing the atmosphere from her hair and fingers. “We aren’t going to sit back and take this.”

    D. Structor stood and placed his hand on Scarlet’s forearm, trying not to wince at the jolt of static that shot up his wrist. “Scarlet, please, listen to Corona.”

Pink Glide shot up from her chair. She hovered there above the table, her hands animated, but she articulated what the others in the room were thinking. “If we go after the Council, we will alienate everyone and everything. We will be out there on our own. Everyone from Freedom Phalanx down will look at us and say we are not heroes any more but thugs conducting a vendetta for our own purposes. We’ll be on the same plane as the Hellions or Skulls, thugs who get in the way, who are there to be bashed and arrested on the way to a mission. We’ll be… nothing. Hell, we might as well pack up and move into the Rogue Isles now!”

There was a murmur of assent from around the table. Scarlet stood, leaning on the table, her mouth open, nonplussed as the reality sank in. Pink had hit the nail on the head. She slumped back in her chair. “So what do we do? Let them get away with it?”

T’lara cleared her throat. “We do what we’ve always done. We do it better. We do it smarter. We are where we are because we are respected. If you like this thing with the Council is recognition that we are winning the fight. We are heroes and people know our name. Shock Tactics is a name that we have built with hard work, guts, and yes, blood. So when we go out there tomorrow, the Council and all the other villains, will know that even losing our best, our dearest, won’t make us give up. That we are here to stay, and that we won’t be beaten, and that no matter who tries to take us on, we will triumph.”

Gravikoi raised a tentative hand. “T’lara is right Scarlet. And think of this – would Great Wulf want you to do that? I think he’s with us still, but he wants Shock Tactics to move on and get better. Not to be consumed by revenge. I think, well I think his Spirit will be watching us still. So let’s make him proud of us.”

The approval was not muted this time as it echoed around the room. Scarlet smiled for the first time in days. “You’re right people. Great Wulf would be proud of you. Maybe he is already. But you’re spot on. He was always honourable and proud but never haughty. So let’s do this. We get out there and root out all evil wherever it’s found. Let’s kick those villainous butts from here until kingdom come but let’s do it right! The way it should be done! And if we do encounter the Council again then we can send that message, up close and personal.” She grinned suddenly. “They won’t be expecting that. It’ll scare the wotsit out of them!”

What actually is the frequency of Base Rent anyway? Is it four weekly, a specific date of each month, or what?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Once a month.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Though if you wait until they cut the power its once every 6 weeks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So why do I get a demand once a fortnight?
  15. Well I can confirm it's working. I got a base rent demand for 20k

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    Base staff

The idea of staff in the base (receptionists, cleaners etc) has some appeal but I don't think I'd want them taking a proacitve part in any action. That's the job of the SG and the team members.

Instead, if you go for the GvE pack, you'll gain some more costume options and 2 nifty powers for each character.
Jump pack = vertical movement and/or travel power booster
Pocket D teleporter = nice way to get around the 3 or 4 zones they are linked to

    [/ QUOTE ]

And also 4 extra character slots (1 per server)
  23. I've tried various combos and Iv'e settled on 3dmg, 2 acc. Someone already made the point no matter how much dmg you do if you do't hit the target you don't do damage.

I've tried stealth in the past and it's a bit rubbish. Anyone who wants to see you badly enough will. Slot for range if you want to snipe.

Not tried the healing slots but Leadership pool is good for defence and Acc buffs for the whole team meaning your trollers and defenders aren't as likely to be hit in the first place

    Good luck
