    yes. yes I do.

however, I think it would be nice to have the TFs that are in a series (posi, synapse etc ; sstf1,sstf2,sstf3 ) actually allow you to earn xp through the whole story.

just, with the xp debt changes and the levelling curve smoothed over, then the level ranges for the TFs must have been knocked askew (never used that word before ).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not entirely sure how you figure this. If you do the TFs back to back you can't outlevel them because you stop gaining XP once you exceed the level range of the TF in question
  2. I'll bring one of the Scarlets (Plant/Thorns Dom or Rad/Rad Corr) or my SoA

Happy to bring what's best needed
  3. I used to use Wikia when checking out TFs etc and I remember reading that a number of sites have stopped updating but can't recall which sites are worthwhile now. Any suggestions?

    I16 closed Beta

I would imagine they will take their time with this, so that I16 goes live very close to the launch of CO. If they debug it, it'll get polished and additional features added in I suspect

Just though I would let people know (that may not have already found out) that the Pocket D tailor is also counted as a Super Tailor.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What exactly is a "Super Tailor"?
  6. [ QUOTE ]
Well it makes sense to be strive to be the best you can be.

Being analytical and mathmatical often helps.

I however, just look at the damage value in mids, and the nice yellow bar below it.

If it's exceedingly large in quantity, then I can be satisfied said attack will do tons of damage, and thereby make me and my char happy

Also, the bar graphs for defence and HP and stuff help me alot.

    Bar charts > numbers

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've done that on occasion of course, but bottom line is, play the character. That is the best test of whether you like it or not.

I've no objection to "being the best" as you put it, but there's a difference between being, for example a good driver in a Ford Focus, or being a good driver in a Porsche 911.

Sometimes (and I've been guilty of this myself on occasion too) I think people forget that this really is just a game and it gets a bit too serious. It happens. I'm not saying that there's a right or wrong, I'm just saying that for me, for the most part I don't need to look at the numbers to know if I'm having fun.

I've got to say that as someone who's never delved deep into game mechanics most if the posts (including the OPs) are beyond me.

I am actually quite happy with that

    Care to enlighten?

Ok to be serious for a moment:

I quickly realised on playing this that one of the attractions for me (and I say this as a long time table-top RPer who knew AD&D almost inside out) was the sense of mystery.

Not knowing exactly what a power did, other than it's description and the Enhancements it took, kept the game fresh for much longer than many who knew exactly what did what to the Nth degree.

I never looked at the game as a mechanical set of numbers to maximise every opportunity or combat situation, even in PVP - hell if I had I woulnd't have been playing an Elec/Elec/Elec blaster for 3 years! But because I don't have the numbers in my head I still get immense pleasure from playing and being guided by my past experience not some mathematical equation.

I leave the stats analysis to the on field play and to those who seem to find cricket soporific I say you should have been watching on monday morning! Nobody listening to that would have been sleeping!!!!

    @Scarlet Shocker,

Death is a better feedback mechanism that debt. Death lets you know poerfectly if you need to change what you're doing because it isn't working.

You don't need to be punished further. Although I think the current debt system is fine.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well clearly it's not enough: It is inconsequential. If there's not a rezzer on the team you've probably got a wakey or a self-rez in your temp powers and if not you can make a wakey easy as anything.

There is nothing in Defeat to teach a new player anything now - Debt was a good way of teaching people how to play the game.
  9. I'm firmly in the "Debt is good" camp

Debt taught me how to play a blaster - because when I'd got a couple of badges at low level I realised that I needed to change my play style.

The game is based on the superhero (or villain) concept and without some element of risk, it's hardly heroic. Without debt you may as well go out and splat enemies that con grey. No risk should equal no reward. Nowadays the biggest risk of defeat is the trek back from the hospital at low level (assuming that you can't make a wakie, or don't have some other way of rezzing on the team.)

On my early toons I'd got all the debt badges before 50 (and the journey to 50 took longer but that wasn't a problem.) Many of my later toons aren't anywhere close to the first badge and that's despite them having been at 50 for a good while.

The lack of debt in my opinion detracts from the game. Defeat means nothing, there's no penalty to playing poorly and no incentive to improve.

I still try and play old school. MA hasn't seen me in a while

    Me too

  13. stop panicking. If your gfx work they work!

If they don't, how are you reading this?

    Colours !

    [ QUOTE ]

But what I'd really like to be able to do is change the power sound effects. It's difficult to feel like a cool alien when firing off a power sounds like the character's knicker elastic snapped.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm concerned about the underwear you own now! :O
  15. Scarlet Shocker

    Colours !

I might try andmake some psychic/mind control guys have as close to invisible powers as possible

    Colours !

    [ QUOTE ]
    1. If hasten can be coloured, colour that black. Can't stand the hasten effect, which is all the more frustrating considering how useful it is

    2. Zombie/Dark MM's power to match her dark purple tendrils aura. Can't see me changing much else on any other toon :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

I will change Hasten if possible

I'll also turn Scarlet's electric to red!
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Conceptually, I've always far preferred Resistance over Defense. Superman doesn't dodge that bullt you know, he ignores the thing and lets it bounce off!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wouldn't work for Batman tho would it?
  18. [ QUOTE ]
tbh i think its good they have accepted clipping it leaves more variety in costumes, so its up to us to find combinations that work, i'd much rather have the high collar cape that clips with some items than have no high collar cape at all and most ppl i've talked to feel the same way

as for the OP 110% /signed from me and to add:

    -dual blade and bradsword scabbards
    -handgun holdsters
    -assault rifle strapped to back

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then why are we forced into a daft arc on VEATs to get us out of costumes?

I do think they are a bit random and precious about cossies and I support this suggestion

    Poison Corruptor

Deffo an under used and underrated power set. I'd love to see it for a corr and maybe even a dom too.
  20. Yeah I agree the sledgehammer to crack a nut is the worst possible response from the Devs

Are you coming over all Hugh Hefner now?

Woohoo, I may be around for this (providing I am in a good mood as it is will be the end of the 3rd day of the 2nd test).

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Dream on!!!

See you back in the game in September then I guess. To paraphrase Steve Waugh, Punter just dropped the Ashes mate!

Edit to add I'd love to take part in this!
  23. Good rewards... nothing too powerful but useful

    perfect balance
