  1. I'm sure someone else can answer this better than I can, but I'll give you the 'short, short version.' (I'll just assume you don't know how to play them back currently, take not offense, it's for completeness.)

First, cohdemos are just text files recording what is going on in CoX. These cannot be directly converted to avi/mpegs. What you first need to do is playback the demo. How? The easiest way is to make a shortcut to your coh exe and append the -demoplay to the end of it. For example:

    "F:\Program Files\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -demoplay

Then it's a simple matter of dragging and dropping a demo onto the shortcut and it will execute. (Ctl + P to pause / resume, esc to exit). Or you can download Zloth's demo launcher program, I'm sure he'd be happy to point you to where it's located.

Now, that is just to play the demo. To actually get it to a video format, you'd need to use a video capture program (most popular two are fraps and gamecam, easily googlable) to record the playback to avi.

Once you have the avi, then you can go on editing it in whatever video editing software you have. Hope this helps!

Ow! You're not supposed to hold the sword there, you crazy, vengeance-fueled sword-swinging machine!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Nonsense!

Besides, you're saying "ow" to where shes holding the sword, but not the nice little blood gyser erupting from the thorn mage's body? Methinks you're the crazy one!

Graver, last time you drew a circle it ended up being Pep rally. I don't wanna hear any excuses.

I was about to mention that, heheh.

I really love the sword. That eye in it is really neat.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, the sword is much more than that. The eye was Graver's idea to show this, and it was an instant hit for me.

The piece came out brilliantly, thank you very, very much Graver! You captured so many of my ideas all in once piece. I love it!
  6. I love what you've done with her wings / shoulder-pads / sword so far. First digital painting... I call shenanigans!

    Update on me...

When I moved across the 'states, I was without the internet for probably a month, month and a half. *twitches*

    Have a safe move!
  8. Holy cow, congrats Star! That's one helluva an accomplishment!

And to DJ: I really like the piece, it looks freaking awesome.

(I'd say more, but I'm at work and didn't get a chance to check it out in more detail. /sigh)

    Hehe, couldn't help myself.

    LOL

We need someone to post a link to "forbiden mook love" now. (I'd try to find it myself, but looking that up on google could be very dangerous!)
  10. Thats a wicked cool coloring job you did!
  11. Graver has a new WIP...

    -edit-
Just out of curiousity, why the sad face TA? I thought it'd be a happy face if you're hooked up again?

They put you to sleep to remove them???

    [/ QUOTE ]

I was given the option, and I didn't really like the idea of being awake when they did it. (I had an asis on the side of my face, they just numbed that area suck the crap out of it, but it still hurt like hell.) Maybe the didn't put me fully under, I dunno. I do know I don't remember a darned thing though!.

About liquid diet : Try 4 weeks before eating SOFT food I got operated on my stomach a few years ago . The first 4 weeks was liquid only. Then I was allowed to move to baby food and had to work my way back to normal. The good side was that I lost over 20 pounds while on the liquid diet. Bad news is I regained it all and more.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's quite alright. I'll stick with solids, thank you.

Odd fact: I lost 40lbs when I went to college. The meal plan sucked and I didn't eat as much as I used to. No, I'm not much of a drinker at all, so no college beer belly for me.

I had mine taken out my junior year of high school. They punctured my sinus cavity AND I got a dry socket It was TERRIBLE.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Dry Socket *shudders*. My mother got Dry Socket when she had her wisdom teeth taken out. I had mine taken out right after high school. No complications, and damn was I happy to eat solid food again after the third or fourth day. No! No more yogurt! No more pudding! No more apple sauce! I NEED TO MUNCH!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I know what you mean. I was on a liquid diet for a few days after I hate a bad reaction to some medicine combination. Not being able to eat solid foods sucks!

Luckily, I didn't have any problems when getting my wisdom teeth removed. The biggest thing about the operation I remember was the injection to put me under... or more specifically, how fast that stuff worked. I swear, one minute I was thinking to myself "No way this stuff is going to work that fa," then I was waking up all groggy. Oddest feeling...

I love this! I can't wait to see it more finished. It almost looks like she is having a ton of fun shoving that sword into a CoT, which makes it even better! (if not, its still rockin')

    [/ QUOTE ]

Trust me, from he less than stellar experience with them in the past, she is very much enjoying herself.

Very veery excited about this piece. It's going to be awesome!

A while ago, GillBates popped in to Victory to congraulate the winners of his multi-server costume contest. People were rude to him, and I got a bit steamed. Said some things in Gill's defense.

I haven't been back there since.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, that definately raised my eyebrow... *sighs*
  16. [ QUOTE ]
    *excited!*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Considering the content matter of this thread, this could be interpreted in a couple ways... *cough*

On a more related note, funny stuff! Wandering hand? Oh no, it wasn't wandering at all, it went in a direct path I think!

    Rack: Compleate!

This piece came out reeaally well! Just the last WIP was great, but seeing the full composition takes it to a new level. The hellish background with the zombies / ghouls looking at the scene really added some serious atmosphere to the piece... as is the squirming female and undead minions restraining her weren't enough. I love it!

    [ QUOTE ]
Um Graver can I ask something personal? Can I have you non dominant arm? I will leave you with the good one, but there has to be some extra talent there you will not miss.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You have to wait one more piece before claiming dibs on that arm, I think.
  18. ...what a backstory! Brings the villain a bit more into focus, that's for sure!

Just curious, at what point did your original writing end and the second half begin? It seemed pretty seemless. to me.
  19. Graver, that picture is both stunning and eerie at the same time. From the tattered clothes, the scars, positioning... wow... This piece is going to be killer when it's finished. Of course, I think that's been said of all your pieces.

I think either title works, really (though I did chuckle at Recruitment Drive). How sad is that? I can't even give advice on the title? *sigh* :P
  20. What really scares me is what people say about it looking even better in person... I mean, [censored], that looks freaking amazing just on the web. Actually, I can only think of one quote that sufficiently describes this piece (oddly enough, it was in a super hero movie):

    "Thats totally wicked!"
  21. Sarrate

    CoH Magic

    Super Speed
"Yeah, but can it get you out of trouble as fast as it gets you in?"

    Hahahah!!
  22. Just out of curiousity, did you ask Gill for permission to make that before adding the lightning effects? I know he has expressed that he was generally against others modifying his art (such as coloring his inks) without his permission.

Don't mean to sound negative or anything...
  23. Okay, I have a lot of 'old' art I'd like to show. All of it was done within the past 7 years. I'll try to go chronologically, but a lot of these pics don't have dates, so no promises...

    High School
Plasma Bot - Oldest piece I have, and the only piece I have ever colored. I like the robot design if nothing else.

Earthworm Jim - Though I sucked at the games, I couldn't deny the concept. The tv show gave me a good laugh too.

Sennah - A character of a friend of mine, Niko Geyer. His picture of her is much beter. I haven't talked to him in over five years though, so I don't even know if he'd remember me, heh.

Random Monster - Never finished it, but man the face is badass!

Tiny Girl - Random picture. Litterally the size of my index finger.

Mecha/TechnoSuit - I forgot all about this one until I was going through my old sketches. Man, I was creative back then...

MegaTokyo - Fan art I did for MegaTokyo. Wow, I've been reading that comic for a long time...

    College
Battle Damage - Inspired by Ghost in the Shell. The most riske picture I've ever drawn.

Perched Vampire - While, I stink at drawing misc stuff, I really like the pose. Yeah... her chin is kinda, uhh, pointy. This is vintage dangit!

Eirowyn - My second, and favorite level 50 daoc character. Friar is probably one of my favorite mmo classes ever.

Aurana (cleric) - Have you ever just hit the artistic jackpot? Well, that's how I feel about this piece. Proportions are pretty darned good, not to mention the detail on the mace. Sure there a problems, but still one of my favorite 'vintage' pieces.

Captain (sketch) - Never finished this, but I liked the beginnings of it. Also shows I draw more than just girls...

Atillita - An older piece of Atillita I've done. (PS: I like swords.)

[edit - This last piece is about 6-8 months out of college... during which time I barely drew anything...]
Alien - This is a remake of an old picture I've done. It's a lizard like creature that is blind but senses via... sound? ESP? Anyways, at the end of its tail is a big clawed hand...

Okay, that's all the stuff I felt like sharing right now, though I do have more on an old site I made on geocities (eww). I'll stop linking things now... honest...
  24. Wow, some of the stuff on this thread (even though it's vintage) is pretty darned good! Vintage... bah!

I have some old pictures scanned, or at least laying around somewhere. I'm going ot see if I can't find any to post here later.
