    He's super smart.

    SUPER SMART!!!

    And, he adores the sisterhood.

    ADORES THEM!

FOR EMPH... nevermind, you get the picture.

    God Bless ya, Fitz!
I agree.. I so AGREE... I mean I really, really AGREE!!!... lol

Glad you saw and could remember it... I was reading through toon bios at the time and did not get a chance to turn around and read Avatea's title... and since I am not a facebook fan, the reference would have completely passed me by.
  3. Welcome back...

As Hazy pointed out, join in the fun at a few global chat channels. There are always teams forming for one thing or another and you're sure to meet some really good people there.

As Infernal said... use the wiki to your advantage... whether you are highly skilled or a lot rusty, you'll be able to come up with something unique for you at the wiki site.

Me?... I have nothing important to say that Hazy and Infernal have not already offered up... Good Luck, Enjoy and remember... 99.99999% of the time, it's all a Nemesis plot
  4. Let's just all stop and smell the.... Rikti...

There is no right or truly wrong way to actually do the LGTF...

I was on a very good speed LGTF and led a very good non speed LGTF yesterday... Both were a blast and both times the expectations were discussed before the mission started. It really is that simple.

I've not heard back from others in the SG to see if they are available to run/lead a team in... If I can get 2 volunteers, I'll be more than happy to get a second instance going... Just not going to hold my breath while I wait

    c) Chalk it up to a bad experience and move on. I've joined bad teams before, I've led bad teams before. I've been given a hard time for explaining too much because everyone knew what they were doing. Fortunately the good outweighs the bad. There's no right answer or right method and no matter what you do someone somewhere will have a problem with it. So play your way and **** everyone else... IN THE EAR!!!
I choose 'A'... no, wait... 'B'! Think the correct answer is 'B'... oh, crap, maybe it's 'C'... yes it is A, B or C for sure...

I've decided that I need to address a situation that occurred about 3 days ago. It sort of bothered me, and I've slept on it, and it still bugs me enough for me to mention it here.

Speed Taskforces - Hey, I get it. Time is short for some players, myself included sometimes. Sometimes, I've got time and other times I don't.

Efficiency, beat the other peeps' time, etc.

This weeks tf is, as most of you know, the LGtf. (Lady Grey for the returning players)
On this tf, everyone seems to be familiar with escorting NPC's to safety. However, since I returned to CoH last April, every time I'd done this tf, these captives were never rescued; all were led to other mobs for defeating - so that the mission would fail and the team could continue the tf that much quicker. (The first time "mission failed" flashed on my screen, I thought we'd have to reform and restart! I'd almost quit!)

A few days ago, I was on a Lady Grey TF - my third time that day, but my first with my main - and there were several returning players or simply rusty players who hadn't ran the LGtf in quite a long time. (I found this out later)
We had one corruptor - and I'll tell you via PM if you think his actions were so horrible - who quit the tf, because even though he had explained things in a sort of vague shorthand kind of way, someone had actually rescued Glacia, while I had helped lead Infernia to get defeated.

As a result, we now had to rescue the remaining hostages. As you are likely aware, this was going to add to our time a good amount. Maybe even as much as 15 minutes if the team had treated it like a kill all, instead of just hunting for captives, being all split up.
So, the corruptor quit. I understand why, but still rude in my opinion.

After he quit, I then noticed what was apparently a re-iteration of my teammates saying that they hadn't done this tf in a long time.

So, to sum up, I'd like to ask you fine people to always do what @Daleaha does when he forms a tf with speed in mind.

    1. Always ask the team if there's anyone that doesn't know how to do a speed *tf. (whatever tf is being done)
    2. If they chime in that they do, take a moment and tell them anyway. I might think I know how to do a speed *tf, but others on the team may have a different idea.
3 Take a moment if you're not the leader of the team and ask the team leader in a tell if he will go over the speed tf rules and strategy/tactics, and if not, would they mind if you did.

    4. Many of us have a fair idea how long a specific tf should take. Let's be sure to share this number with the group, so that others will have a clearer idea of how much time it will take.

Now, this is not to suggest in any way that you good people don't already do these things.

I sort of blame myself for not being more outspoken during that mission. If I had been, I might have finished earlier and been able to jump on another tf.

It could be that because many of you never left - you already are doing them by rote memory.
Just try to realize that not everyone has it down pat like that.
Good Call... Even as long as I've been around, I find myself on toons that just are not 'up to speed' on Speedy TF's (even though I thought they were up to the task)... Either I don't build them for that type of occurance or I simply enjoy... stopping more often... or, the more obvious possibility... (fill in blank)

I've teamed with many great players who run both speed TF's and those simply enjoying the casual game... Hats off to both types of players...

With all that said... players joining a TF should ask if it is a kill all, kill most or hell bent on getting done as quickly as possible, if the leader has not made it clear in channel/broadcast... All three are OK...

To each his/her own... it's all good fun and a game... but yes, stopping to explain/understand the objective is always a good thing!...

One last thing... NEVER under any circumstance, join a TF that you don't have time to complete or have no intention of completing (assuming there is no emergency)... Nor should you quit a TF just because you are unhappy with it's current direction/leadership or participants... Finish up to the best of your ability and move on... Quitting the TF most likely wont hurt those left behind to finish, more likely to cost the one who quit the INF/PREST/Badge or whatever other goodie there is...

Enjoy! See you in-game and on the speed/non speed TF
  8. Rex, I completely missed Avatea's title... I was busy reading biographies and checking out all the really great costumes!... Maybe next time I'll get that screen-shot...

Had a great time all... Here's the pic of all the winners (minus Notting Point, who logged off or DC'd shortly after the winners were announced)

  9. We had an absolute blast on the CC...

Thanks to all who came out to participate and those that came out in support of the event...

Special thanks to @Ukaserex for helping judge and to Avatea for coming out to support Liberty Server and for passing out the gold titles to our top male and female toons!

I'll post up a couple pictures tomorrow with additional info about the winners... Just wanted to give a shout out to all who came by!...

    Thanks again!
  10. Sounds like fun... I'll be there with some type of toon or another... lol
  11. Hey Deej,

  14. CONGRATZ...

I think it was more your attention to doing the task and practice than any ill-advice I gave... lol

The only thing I ever got on the slopes was a rusted old nickle plated can lid that I fell on as a tumbled down the slopes... over and over again (sigh)
  15. I think it's a good idea... however, I am not sure of the participation level on Liberty supports it...

I have never been the one to PvP (though I had high hopes at one time, but RL and SG duties prevented much participation in the PvP training that some better players enacted on Liberty a while back)...

Back on topic: I think some sort of PvP activity is good as an alternative to the other ingame stuff... There is no such thing as a bad idea when you are trying to get teams together and give people a choice of things to do...

Best of luck as you move forward on this...
  16. I'd be more than happy to assist in getting this off the ground on a 'more' regular basis... Just let me know how I can help.

I was hoping to get this going myself on a bi-weekly or monthly schedule... just ran into some RL concerns that made me personally back-off those plans (along with many other things too!)...

Again, just let me know if there is anything I can do to help...

That's awesomely scary... Really, that is a bit scary to get that many toons to 50 in that short amount of time... And I think you found all the purples I was missing... thanks, kindly return them now... lol

  20. Had a great time running with the All Gun Team(s)...

We had 3 full teams and I believe a few ppl formed a fourth team as well... Loads of fun just running around shooting things...
    Therapy is great!... lol

Looking forward to the upcoming Saturday's as well... hope to make it every week... but we'll see how that goes with RL schedules!

Well, I guess I need to chime in on this one... lol

I've been out of the game except for an appearance here and there since the last time I helped organize a CoP through Dream Weaverz... RL has been complicated at best, and beastly otherwise...

Glad to see so many others getting these organized and having fun... It's not all that complicated, but takes a lot of patience and coordination in-game to keep the teams focused... KUDOS to all the successful runs...
  22. Welcome back... Nice to see Liberty is still considered HOME for so many wondering souls!
  23. Thanks all... Seems like (as usual) I jumped the gun a bit and had a slight set back... but NOW I really am gearing up to be back...

It's nice to know I was missed... I was missed?... lol

See ya in game tonight sometime!
  24. Hey All,

Missed ya bunches (most of you any ways... lol)... Been offline for a bit recovering (the why does not matter)... But feeling much better and have my gaming strength back...

Planning to get back into the game within the next week and try to get caught up on all the fantastic happenings...

Taking the time now to try and read up and see what all I missed (in this game, you can blink and miss something really kewl... lol)

Anyway, hope all are doing well and I'm looking forward to getting back in full swing!
