Quote:Actually, I think a few people may be moving out to the lower pop servers. There are a number of people who prefer it that way, for whatever reason. I doubt CoX is headed for a server merge, considering that merges are pretty much the death knell of a MMO. And one big server really is a TERRIBLE idea. Imagine slogging through the idiot traffic of Freedom (Probably every one of us would be starting new alts in Galaxy), then dealing with someone trying to "text-pvp" you in Pocket D every time you passed through, not to mention every other little irritation popping up along the way. Given that option, I'll transfer every toon I have to Triumph. At least I know of a few more good players there, and they're easy to find... out of the 50 or so online! (I exaggerate, there's always plenty of good folk there at any time.)This whole free server transfer thing may just be a way for devs to see how things shuffle out. I'm betting some of the lower pop servers just get abandoned as people move to places where there is more traffic.
There should probably only be six servers... or one big one.
I think the free transfer was probably a little gift to let people shuffle themselves around a bit before GR hits, maybe get a little trans-server goodwill going on. Or possibly a test run of a permanent feature in the future, considering the $10/move has probably paid for its own tech by now, or usage dropped off and they're looking to see if people still want the opportunity. -
Time and date and I'll be there with pants on!!

Quote:*Grammar geek's head explodes*no i just did not understand why he/she though it was a bad idea? to be blunt with all of you are really do not care if anyone else see me doing it, although i see your point it is more of a distraction to others such as yourself is that correct?
np i can do it on top of a building, inside a building, hmm maybe in the water no i dont want any green eggs and ham...........oh wait what where am i. oh right odd power use, since im a almost 5 year vet things can get a little old.
i look for ways to change the game for myself so when i saw that i though interesting idea. -
While your suggestion bears merit, there are players on here with computers that barely support running CoH on minimum settings (until a recent new computer purchase, I considered myself among this group). The devs usually do whatever they can to accommodate those players, and besides, packaging another feed under the CoH loader will throw up red flags on every firewall and protection program. While completely harmless, security concerns over the game and questions of "what else is being passed along this mystery feed?" will begin popping up, causing controversy the game truly doesn't need.
Beyond this, if someone is bored by their experiences in the game, I honestly don't think the City Vault will keep them here. It's really the community that keeps us all here, since the novelty of the game easily wears off in a year or two, if not less. -
Quote:Standard code rant applies. This idea should be fairly easy for the Devs to implement.
That being said, do we have an established date for the end of the first rikti war (perhaps the date of the alpha/omega gambit)? It would make for a worldwide celebration day that still falls within canon. -
While I don't have a personal need for this, I find it a reasonable request.
I approve. -
Quote:Power customization was asked for long before you were playing the game, and side switching has been desired since CoV was announced. Both were things the devs stated they wanted to do, but couldn't work at the time. Further costume options and the nemesis system are also things the devs have stated they would like to do, but wouldn't without a good way to implement it into the existing code. Don't think that something you suggested is automatically a good idea, especially if you've piggy-backed on an idea somebody else presented before. A bad idea, even presented in the best way possible, is still a bad idea. I've been in the military long enough to know that fact intimately. And THIS is a bad idea.hehe, I have 1 level 40 : D I like that game. But I want CoH to get the 3 good parts about it so CoH will be way bettter.
All the outfits, arm, legs, back, the thrid and fourth, color on each the patterens.
The nemeisis and travle powers
To have any name
Then the team thing would be nice heheh. The team idea is mine hehehe.
I think this alll will happen someday, my ideas are coming around the corner hehe. The ability to change power's color is already here, and the ability to turn evil/good is on it way : D So, soon... maybe in a year the other 4 will come. -

Congratulations!! Best of luck you two!!!

Happy new year Justice! May your 2010 be far better than mine looks to be!!
(Preparing for 8-mo deployment) -
Merry Christmas everybody, or a happy holiday if you celebrate something different!!
Ok, so I'm a little late... Comes with all the celebrating!! -
What confuses me about those pants is this: The types of people who wear such astonishingly random pants typically would not shop at Brooks Brothers. Where is their target demographic? And how do they expect them to come up with $200 for them when you can likely find something similar in Hot Topic, or piece it together yourself?
-
Sounds like fun... however, being the madhouse that Justice is, I nominate something truly left-field for Justice's support of this invasion.
What about an army of scrooges? On that note, all characters from "A Christmas Carol?" Is Dickens considered public domain?
Of course, the floor is open for something even more random.

If you don't feel a need to purchase a new rig, a few upgrades could have you running far smoother. Besides, if you do it piece by piece, you can pretty much get yourself a whole new PC over time instead of taking one huge hit on your wallet.
Here's a decent internal HDD for you, only $70... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136320
This one's an external, which are usually easier to install (just plug in the USB!)... same price... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148355
Since your computer is so old, you may want to look into upgrading your RAM and your vid card as well. Before you do that, though, make sure you either talk to a friend who is more tech savvy or read up a bit so you know which type you need to get for your motherboard. Newegg is a great place to look for parts and has outstanding delivery service but don't be afraid to shop around, as well.
Good luck!! -
Quote:I can see it now...And if there were badges attached to walking people would work for them as well
Slow Starter
You have walked for three miles through Paragon City.
Took the Scenic Route
You have walked for fifteen miles.
At a Medium Pace
You have completed an entire story arc (or task/strike force) using the walk power.
then, our epic badge...
The Proclaimer
You have walked 500 miles, and then walked 500 more. -
So I wonder if the devs ever figured out what happened to the hellion fires in Steel. We spawned four or five instances of the event in a row with no fires starting in the entire time. I'm still curious if the event prevents an arson from occurring somehow. I don't know the coding, they could (and from the way GF was looking for it, should) be completely independent of each other... but does anyone remember if arsons went off during a rikti invasion event?

I didn't get much time online, but I did have a birthday and upgraded to a larger apartment. So in essence, I kind of had a RL level to 30 and base plot upgrade.

I'd love to join you but I've got the Navy equivalent of a company picnic tomorrow afternoon. I may or may not be on around you SP time, though, so give me a shout for that one!

I miss the Battletech pods at Dave & Busters... unfortunately, looking at the VirtualWorld site, I'm going to have to truck out to Colorado, Texas, or Michigan to play in one of those again. That's quite a long way from VA. At least I can have some MW4 for free soon! Thanks for the update, BA!

Blueberries give the best xp, grapes pay awesome. Four day crops have a nice payoff, but if you keep harvesting grapes each day you get more in the long run.

Thanks, glad to know at least it isn't just me. I'll keep updates coming if anything new comes up.

So, I logged into the test server today to check out the open beta, and as soon as I entered my account info I realized that I had no mouse pointer. My mouse was still functional because I could highlight things by mousing over them, but changing graphics settings and logging in under safe mode still wouldn't bring it back. I logged in to the live server to check and the mouse cursor was fully functional, so it's definitely related to playing on test, likely related to the current build. I filed a /bug report but so far only got the automated reply from support.
Anyone else seen something like this recently?
Currently running Windows Vista SP2 64 bit with an Intel quad core 3GHz, 8GB RAM, and 2 NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT's with 512 MB each. -

Ok, so let me rephrase. NOT a mastermind, but something new and a bit different for the heroes. NOT all the sets must have pets. And really how cool would it be to have missiles ? And on the logic side of things, the super hero universe has a lot of normal people without anything inherent but a strong will and an arsenal of gadgets to their disposal.

Play an AR/Device/Munitions Blaster then.

You're going to need a strong will for that one. Just remember rule #1: YOU ARE NOT A BLAPPER.
