Heh. . . yeah. And the occaisional Dark Consumption.
  2. This may or may not help. It's a build to softcap S/L/E/N defense. Your attacks still have great enhancement values, if not always the best. You could even do better on the bonuses, but this was a moderately affordable build.

I have it on my tanker and she's incredibly durable while putting out a fair amount of damage. If you work in more recharge bonuses, then you'll be able to farm at a decent pace with it.

Not that you asked, and not that I'm trying to compare units. I just figured it would be a good place to draw notes from and get tips.

This is my attempt at an AV soloer. So far, the only AV I've tried was Chimera. I got him to about 1/4 health left before the minions were all gone and I tried to round up more. That was after about 20 mins and he regained too much health by the time I found some more. My health was never an issue, though. And next time I try an AV, I may find one without Caltrop crazy foes slowing down my herding abilities.

  4. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, sure dark one. Tanks aren't already the pet archetype! Make them more powerful.

Tankers get the Gauntlet inherent because many players deny the fact that Tanks were meant to Taunt. Taunt is a very important power in the pool for archetypal reasons. Since many Tanks decided that they did not need this key power, the DEVs were forced to make Tanks do their job as part of a team.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Didn't you just get corrected about this whole "meant to take Taunt" and "why gauntlet was created" in the last thread? And by numerous people?

    [ QUOTE ]
Tanks are meant to protect teams and not be damage machines.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe you can ask some of the other tankers on this forum how they can achieve both. Sure, it's not the most damage, but it's enough to contribute well enough to the damage output of the team.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
any willin to offer me some "marketing training" i would really appreciate it i am a long time f/k farmer and i do have a money capped toon but i never played the market plzz teach me the ways of the ebill marketeer

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why not do like you usually do, and offer up a fake 400million inf prize for someone to do something for you?
  6. I'm going to form an SG of Granite players with bright colors and call it Skittles.

    On second thought. . .
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Since tanks weren't taking Taunt, the provoke-punch in their attacks were added.
When the inherent powers were added, the Tanks were still not "hogging" the agro enough so they were stuck with an inherent that made them do their "job" better.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Says who? What's enough aggro? If there's a defender buffing/debuffing (or a Controller), then the teams less squishy already. Throw in minor aggro management from aggro auras, and you don't need to be a Taunt Spam-bot. Suddenly your tank isn't one dimensional. Like your playstyle regime.

If there's blasters and scrappers handing out high damage with said buffing/debuffing going on, then there's even less need to have to control all the aggro. Your idea of team play seems very inefficient compared to what I see in a lot of the game.

    [ QUOTE ]
Enemies that are agroed by TAUNT can not be pulled away by someone that can generate more damage than the tank. The other agro/taunt that a tank can generate can be dismissed by superior fire power.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I thought the devs stated that Taunt is NOT an "I Win" button on aggro. It's not a yes/no factor for grabbing aggro. It's only a strong multiplier. Someone can correct me here if they can pull up the quote, but I have a destinct memory of a red name stating that this was the case, after a long history of thinking otherwise. It can, in fact, be over ridden by enough damage output.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
I think farming is a boring waste of time. Play the game instead.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unless of course, you consider farming to be part of playing the game. In which case, farm away.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
I'd fill it with alts right away, but that's because I've filled up all my other "free" slots already.

    ----
I'm still for moving the farmers to their own server.
I don't think AE is the problem. It's the cheaters (yeah, I know I've blah blah blah blah blah blah....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nice sig, Alt. If they don't agree with you, ignore them. That way, you can say all the posts you see confirm your narrow views. It's so. . . what's the word I'm sarcistically thinking of? Oh yeah, it's so mature.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
any1 know a good, active, pvp SG on freedom and test that i can join? im already on renegades on my vill but sadly my hero is left solo.. anyone care to invite me...or send me a link to the requirements or whatever..ty

    [/ QUOTE ]

You should offer up 400 million inf for it. That should do it.
  11. Why did you use quotation marks for when you said you "already have" a stone tank? Are you implying that you don't?

    I feel confused.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
You ppl are haters, I will show yu that I am right and telling the truth.

    You can't deny factrs.

Here is a screenshot of me being STRONG and pretty.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not since the renaissance has there ever been anything more beautiful.

I wept from the sheer awe of it.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
IO's solved Dark Armors endurance issues from Issue 9 on wards. I've spoken about this many times on the scrapper forums. I run 9 toggles on my DM/DA scrapper with no endurance issues: DE,OS,MC, DS, CoF, Hover, CJ, Tough, Weave. The guide in my signature explains the how and why. All the Dark Armor advice there will hold true for tankers as the endurance costs are the same.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm assuming that's not taking into account the fact that Scrappers are more efficient with attack enurance.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
. . .ill even break out my ice tank before my dark.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Back handed compliment on Ice Armor? Really?
  15. Since we're all showing off builds, here's my Ice/EM build, my main tank. He's not over-the-top crazy defense or anything. I just wanted to narrow the gap of the fire hole and get some great recharge.

    . . . I probably shouldn't have said fire hole.

  16. If your playstyle prefers to just keep going, then I would recommend WP/DM. QR and Dark Consumption will keep you going from mob to mob without any worries on end. Also, DM has become quite a terror with the buffs it was given. the minor heal in Siphon Life compliments WP's lack of a heal, while dealing out some serious damage. And Soul Drain will make you foam at the mouth.

It's not the only combo that would work for you, but it would be a very fun one.

  20. Well that's too bad. I was going to use this as a way to alleviate storage shortage in our SG. This complicates things. . .
  21. I've been trying to allow Coaltioned teams to use our storage bins. Is there anyway to open them up for other SGs, or is that just not possible?

It was, when the set was first released. This was fixed to be on par with the other sets.

Shield has Against All Odds, which is the Taunt Aura. I'm not sure how you missed that, but it is there in the set. As such, it holds aggro as well as Invuln does (well, a little bit better, because the extra damage will increase the threat value).

    I've got a Shield/Mace Tanker that I love. Definitely a fun combination.

    Love the Avatar enhancement, Aett!

Just asking, but I thought AAO was about the same taunt value as RttC. So it's aggro hold would be weaker than most other auras.

Another method for maintaining aggro: try to kill everything. That keeps them pretty upset at you.

. . .also, it makes great use of Guantlet.

Oh, I'm aware of all the options. If anything else, I'll just pay the $10 to move the toon here. But it was worth checking to see if there was anyone who was making a move to Freedom. But I'm guessing anyone who'd want to move there, wouldn't be coming to the Protector forums.

No worries though, $10 isn't too big a price to pay to make all my Protector toons very, very happy.

Can... Can you make all MY protector toons very very happy too?

Seriously... Sooner needs a sugah daddy!

Umbral in your build you had Health, Stamina, and Drain Psyche, wouldn't drain psyche be enough.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It could be (emphasis on could), but the OP asked for Stamina.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, he said that Stamina is not a must. So you could drop it.
