Quote:Yeah but previous "Double xp" weekends where usually a lot of fun, this is just "Double AE Players", "Double the farms", "Double the shouts", and "Double the annoyances".
Outside of "Double AE" which of these things wasn't just as prevelant in the last double xp weekend? Nothing's changed. Not one bit. People milked farms like crazy during double xp before, and they always will.
Honestly, not everyone is running AE all the time either. My SG stuck to Borea mishes because AE lag was usually worse. And with as many people who complain about AE on the forums, I'm surprised they have so much trouble finding themselves in game, to run other content together.
And let's step back and think about this. You're (this is the general "you") complaining about how people are gaining too much xp on a weekend entirely based on gaining uber xp. Next time around, try making double xp plans with SG mates for TFs and story arcs. This way you can enjoy it the way you like. Just like all those dirty AE players. -
I've noticed issues with Protector for the past two to three weeks, as well as my SG mates. We all live in various locations, so we know its not our end. The load has only made it more pronounced.

Back up. But still getting Mapserved.
-
Already a thread. I'd provide a better link, but I'm still getting used to the new forums. Here's the thread: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=183424

I think 20 mins meant 20 secs. heh.
Thanks to whoever for fixing the problem!
edit: Just realized that might sound sarcastic. Seriously, thanks! -
And now some bad Mapservs. Red name response?
-
Same. Though, I think Protector's been having issues lately. A lot of lag spiking among myself and friends. And this was before the weekend rolled along.
-
Having the same issue. And it's not servers in general, I just checked. Can't seem to get into Protector for some reason. And it's still a green light.
-
Hell yes! And it's pulled a generous amount of wife aggro!
-
Of course. The one week I have off from work and can access the forums.
But I'm leaving the iron plugged in. -

Ok, look at the game's lore. The Tankers in the CoH lore aren't low damage decoys like player Tankers are.
Statesman? 'Nuff said.
The Back Alley Brawler?
Hero 1? Same deal.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is why you won't get the majority of the tanker forums behind you. And why when Starsman says it, people at least engage in civil discussion. You want to compare tanker balance to AVs. This seems rational to you, and that's why more people don't take you seriously. -
Are there any limits on how quickly you can pick up drops in PVP?
-
[ QUOTE ]
Setting yourself up as a "larger teams" is so obviously an abuse of AE that there would be no debate or not if they player was trying to abuse it or not.
[/ QUOTE ]
Obviously the devs agree. Or they wouldn't make setting yourself up for larger teams an option.
. . .oh wait. . .
At least this proves the devs hate farming like you said.
. . .oh wait. . . -
All this talk about insane farming in regards to 2xPX seems futile, does it not? I mean. . . what the hell else are people doing on 2xPX?!?!
Think about it, you're specifically trying to earn a ton of XP and you're worried about others trying to earn a ton of XP.
I'm all for getting rid of the exploits, there's plenty of fast XP out there without them. Outside of that, let's not start calling the kettles black. -
I'm on the fence about ELA
What I would do:
1. Give PS the Energy Drain treatment that EA got for brutes, and put in a decent heal along with the end recovery.
2. Drop CP, and in place of that, put in another auto that adds resistance to all. This would be a low amount, naturally. But enough to help the fact there there are no -res debuff resists in the set.
Obviously, the devs have already done something to port it over, I'm sure what they've done at least tries to balance out these issues.
If any of you get a beta invite, then please, please, PLEASE play this set into the ground. Mention anything that feels off or broken, and for heaven's sake, use numbers when you talk about it!! -
I know one forumite who's going to love the name choices.
-
Meh, looks like no second run. Oh well, there's always next week.
-
No, no, no. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad idea to go for defense. But if you're going to going to sacrifice all your damage, then you'd have to really max out the defense bonuses. Because with only hovering around 20%, they eventually wear you down.
The best part about Fire/Dark, is that it offers a lot of utility, while also giving you damage output in spades. You skipped the two most damaging powers in DM, and a very useful fear tool.
Here's a build that leaves out stamina (you may want to respec out of it at a later level of course). Consume and Dark Consumption will both recharge in 85 seconds, meaning that you can refill your end bar every 43 seconds. Not a bad deal. High recharge for you attacks should help a lot as well.
Mind you, it just depends on the playstyle you'd prefer to use.

I remember seeing this in the stores when it first came out. At that time, I only played on console, and the only console I had was the only one I thought worth owning (Nintendo GC). CoH looked interesting, but the only PC I had was junk.
Then, a year later, I got a new PC (still junk, but good enough to try some games on) and saw CoH in the store. I purchased it not realizing it was a game that required subscription. And on April 24th, 2005, I began my CoH fandom. Since then I've built a respectable gaming rig just for playing this game the way it should be enjoyed.

And all this talk of Saturday Morning Cartoons makes me feel sad for kids nowadays. There was nothing like being up at 6 or 7 in the morning, and watching nothing but toons until noon. Kids these days are missing out. -
Fortunately, I've got that week off already. I liked it last year when there was a calendar. That sounds a little ungrateful, but it's really not. Just a suggestion.
Also, why did Facebook have the news out first? Shouldn't the forums get news out before networking-type sites? -
No matter what combo I create, first and foremost, I like to put my tank through the ringer. I'll find out how much of a beating he can take, and then build accordingly to overcome it.
Once I have him/her to a good spot, then I build for decent damage output. I don't really care why I'm suppose to beat up the baddies (content related), I just want to smash them.
Then, once I have those things done, I usually farm with them. Why? Because I get to do the two things I made a tank for (take a beating, deal a little bit out) and I get drops for it.
And who knows, maybe I'll take Taunt. If I'm not already tanking well enough for the team. We all know it's not always needed. -

Just so you know - the market no longer wipes your inventory after 60 days. So you could have forgotten about it until next year and still gotten your nice reward. From the 2nd line in your post, it sounds like you might not know that change has happened.

Why not do like you usually do, and offer up a fake 400million inf prize for someone to do something for you?

Actually, the one I'm refering to is this one here. Where he said he would pay me, and didn't. Then he started one in the blaster forum. THEN he thought changing his name would fix the issue of people knowing what a tool he is. That last part I find pretty funny. -
. . .to whoever dropped 100 mill on a lvl 35 end mod/rech recipe.
I was checking in on a toon who was 45 days offline. Good thing I did.
And yes, I spent it already.
