"If you want to join the Vanguard, you have to really hate the rikti."
"I do!"
"Oh yeah? How much?"
"A lot!"
"Right, you're in."
"There's not one of us that would not gladly suffer death to rid this city of the rikti once and for all"
"Uhh, well, one!"
"Oh yeah, yeah, there is one. But otherwise, we're solid."
"He's not the rikti. He's a very naughty boy."
"No one is to stone anyone until I blow this whistle, even, and I want to make this absolutely clear, even if they do say rikti!" -

how about fixing the Height slider so that either A) It has a value listed to it or B) that it gets used the Save/Load costume buttons?
[/ QUOTE ]
Gah! yes! Thought I'd finally be able to fix one of my characters that somehow ended up a lot shorter than I had intended (one of my oldest characters) but I can't seem to make the different costume slots exactly the same height.
The height value really really needs to be saved/loaded with the rest of them. Actual numbers for the sliders would be quite useful too. (Honestly never quite trusted save/load or reset button to get the slider values right, seems it often ends up off somehow) -

I'll be skipping Hot Feet though, I can promise you that. If that's the one I'm thinking it is.... requires you to be on the ground to use.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hot Feet does indeed require you to be on the ground to activate, but once the toggle is on there's nothing preventing you from using it while flying. -
Guess I'm a Soloer/Costumer ...but I can't find my primary reason for playing on your list, maybe there's a type missing? I play CoH because I enjoy creating character concepts - completing concepts with appropriate powers is probably my *only* reason for leveling a character up at all.
I used to say that I play CoH because I like playing with Super-hero dolls, but that's not strictly true, I'm all about the concepts (the combination of name, AT, origin, power sets/power choices, bio & costume) The rest is just fluff to me. -
[ QUOTE ]
Everyone arc I've reviewed since has been by request of the author. Presumably that means they're reading the forum.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think someone else probably got skipped, because I never requested a review.
Not that I mind, I appreciate your input.
Edit: I didn't even know that they had added special Mission Architect areas to the forum until I got your review message in-game and went looking for your thread. -
Thanks for your review, Venture.
With the trouble you seem to have had with my bosses and allies, I fully understand the 3 stars.
I'd like to be able to reproduce the situation where my bosses become too tough and the allies die too quickly (I've seen that comment before, but can't seem to make it happen myself yet.) so I was wondering if you could let me know what level you were playing at, team size, difficulty setting, what archetype you used, powersets..?
Thanks again.
Edit: Just thought I'd add: You clearly put a lot of thought into your reviews, so I think it would be a good idea to provide a little more info in the in-game review message. Not everyone you randomly select for your reviews will be a forum reader. -
Well, with the Reactivation Weekend going on, i got access to an old account I haven't been using for some time, and deleted a few of the characters there, freeing up these names:
Sky Girl
Gemstone
Golden Goose
Metaphor
Shield Maiden
Gumshoe
Cave Girl
Alamo
Transcendent
Impetus
Rainbow
Edit: Forgot a couple of them -

Everything looks kosher while I'm still on the changing screen (and character selection), but upon returning to the game, her good looks go away.
[/ QUOTE ]
Every time this has happened to me so far (with hair or any other costume piece), it's been due to SG colors being off. SG color selections don't show up in the costume creator. (Just a tip, in case it's what's causing your issue)
Edit: While the SG color problem is easily dealt with it's seriously annoying. Even if you continously choose to *never* use SG colors in SG mode, if any of your costume colors match one of the two SG colors, you keep getting switched over to "using SG color" for that piece. I wish there was a checkbox in my coh settings for "never use SG colors, ever, at all, even if I tell you to do so repeatedly" and i'd check it for every single one of my characters. -
I've mentioned this before, but I think repeating it may be forgivable, because it was back in June (just after Issue 7 launched)
The "Mesh" pattern on female upper body (in various categories) is distorted. In particular it doesn't at all match the mesh pattern on gloves.
It has, however, been fixed for quite some time (since a few weeks after Issue #7 launched, I believe) on the *Test Server*.
The trouble is, that this fix doesn't seem to want to tag along with other patches when they move from the test server and goes live. I repeatedly anticipate this fix to come to live servers, every time a new patch arrives. Now we're an *entire issue* later, and it's still not happening.
The specific issue can be clearly seen here
The image on the left is taken on the test server, today. The image on the right is also current, from live servers. (This distortion has been on this pattern since it was introduced for categories other than Tops with Skin, in issue #7)
As you can see, the distorted mesh pattern doesn't match up with the glove mesh pattern at all.
Note: Like i commented the first time I mentioned this, the distorted mesh texture actually looks rather nice on its own. Perhaps we could get access to both the proper mesh AND this new, weird looking mesh texture? Just a thought. (Perhaps with matching gloves?) -
Pardon the question if you've already tried it, but it wasn't mentioned in your post:
Have you made sure it's not an SG color situation?
(I seem to always have to go in and fix my SG color settings every time i change costume, even tho I *always* select original colors for every single costume piece for all my costumes, every time. Yes it's @#$% annoying and the worst part is: There was a time when this didn't happen at all, when it was working fine.) -

Now Testing in the Training Room - 11/01/06
A few female hair styles tweaked to fit better.
[/ QUOTE ]
I hope the change to the "wedge" hairstyle (my fav hair, unless the change on test goes through) is a mistake. Here's what it looks like on live servers right now.
Now have a look at my freaky looking hair on the test server.
(Yes, the facial sliders are unchanged)
edit: just wanted to add: Love the fix to the neck area of the masks! thanks a million! -
Yeah, was nice to get the skirt patterns again
Just wish they'd finally move the fixed mesh pattern for tops (that has been fixed on test since several patches back) over to live servers.
Keep thinking "yeah, ok, they'll get to it next patch" but it's getting silly. Let's have it already? -
Wow, last update resolved a lot of issues I've had with the costumes. Nice, indeed. However...
The "new" mesh pattern (and the tights/mesh pattern) for chests (females - dunno about male or huge) in categories Tops with Skin, Shirts, Robes (w/wo sleeves) and Jackets (w/wo sleeves) has a distinctly different look than the "old" mesh pattern.
While I'm very happy to finally see the "mesh" over skin color option with shirts, jackets and robes, the new pattern doesn't match the "mesh" pattern on gloves. (Nor does it match the pattern of fishnets for legs - it never truly did, it was always a little denser, but the old pattern was a much, much closer resemblance at least)
While this bothers me a great deal, since I use the mesh patterns a lot (used to "fake" mesh on skincolor using oranges with the mesh on tights pattern), I actually really like the look of the "new" mesh too, so maybe we could.... get both? Maybe matching gloves and stockings? (And a pony too?) -
Well, the logo display items look great, as far as I'm concerned - I really like the effect of the glass items. Too bad there's no rose among the SG logos. Oh well. (A dove would've been nice too)
-
Yah, found it. Marvellous, thanks

Well, for the most part, Mayhem Missions have been absolutely awesome. (This is what the entire game should be like, really.) However....one of the temp powers you get as a Mayhem Mission reward is an auto power called "Movement Increase" that says:
Movement Increase
Auto: +Movement Speed
Temporary Powers
Your Running, Flight and Jumping speeds are
increased slightly. This effect lasts for 3 days of
gameplay.
I have 4 questions regarding this ... "power":
1) Why are the FX so hideous? (The "trailing rings" effect is why I never really play characters with superjump.)
2) Why is it not a toggle? (Gaah, let me turn this off, please!! Pretty please?)
3) Does it *really* last for a full 3 days of GAMEPLAY? (I really hope it will time out if I go offline for 3 days playing something else - I can deal with that.)
4) Did I miss something and there's a way to "get rid of" unwanted temporary powers before they expire? (Oh, I hope this is so)
edit: Forget I mentioned this, I found a way to delete it. Fancy that, was in the very last place I looked. No worries, then. Keep up the good work. -
Oh no! The animation for Assassin's Eclipse! Eeeek! Like others have said too, it turns out it's that horribly ungraceful old twofisted animation again! Oh dear, why??
I had hoped to re-start my old MA stalker as a dark stalker, since I just couldn't stand watching the Assassin's Blow animation, every time I used it, I just got this urge to cry, and tend to log off and watch a DvD instead of playing the game. Sometimes it surprises me the things that get past QA. -
When I saw the empowerment prices in game (omg!), I thought it was a one-time fee to enable the empowerment station to provide those buffs (i assumed for a lower, more reasonable fee per buff - say a single piece of crafted salvage per use)
Imagine my surprise!!
OMG look at the cost for the invisibility buff! That's more than the cost for five (5!) basic telepads! For a 15 minute invis buff???
The empowerment stations aren't really intended for use by small casual SG's, I suppose? Do the really, really huge SGs find this affordable enough to be useful?
Wow, and the duration of the buffs is 15 minutes? Short enough that if I have a mapserver disconnect and then trouble getting back on, I could easily miss it entirely.
Please tell me this is a bug? Hangon, when was April first? No that's not it, wrong month. Huh?
Oh, maybe it's supposed to be 15 hours? Hmm? If so, then I understand the costs. -

this power breaks if I look at it crosseyed.
[/ QUOTE ]
.....Is that your Signature Power? -
[ QUOTE ]
actually if you stand in a mob phase shifted they will attack....
[/ QUOTE ]
Just to be on the safe side, I tested this theory with a bunch of grey cons just now, and no, they didn't attack me even though I was calling them names. Obviously, phase shift does not aggro villains. -
[ QUOTE ]
doesn't do squat or doesn't do as much?
[/ QUOTE ]
Um, yes, what the wise and cunning toad said. -
[ QUOTE ]
all this for a measily 25 End cost and 10 sec down time (which in that down time i press my self activation toggles i.e. dull pain, haste, do a little of running around (invince is good aggroer) and im back to fighting....i have noticed however the -def seems to be a little more than 5%.....
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually you're incorrect about one thing, the aggroing part of Invincibility doesn't do squat during those 10 seconds. (Easy enough to test on a grey con - stand next to it without aggroing it, use rage, wait til it runs out and activate invincibility. You'll notice that invinc won't aggro them til you get your attacking ability back.)
This little fact is actually the ONLY reason I'm respeccing out of rage as soon as I can, I don't really mind that much not being able to attack or taunt, but being completely unable to use even invincibility for aggro control during this downtime isn't working for me.
