Quote:I discovered you can already swim on some of the roman themed maps, at the end of the cave is a room with water on either side of a little block bridge. If you jump into the water you can swim and even go under the bridge from side to side swimming up and down. So the game has swimming under water in it. Not sure if it was intended to work like that when thei map was created, but it works.Making Hamidon "swimmable" would be awesome. A spheroid that matches the outline of the amoeba, which grants you an auto "go anywhere" (ala flight, but without gutting people's "castable only from the ground" powers) power of some sort and puts you in the "swimming" animation would be epic. (would need to make an "up" and "down" swimming animation, could be as simple as just moving your hands up/down, as appropriate.) Then folks wouldn't have to worry about jetpacks or superjumps or coordinating Group Fly (which is rejectable now anyway) to fight his "bits".
EDIT: Zaloopa and EK beat me to it! But you see! It's a popular suggestion! I've seen it more than a few times in global channels, and during Hami Raids, and a couple times in the Suggestions forum. -
On team mates code figured I would chime in Since I do program for MMOs games on the side. Seems to me that the packet to update the team when a member enters a map or zone, is not being sent to the other clients.
Passing the star's code is working as intended cause its forceing the update packet to be sent to all clients. I would suggest looking at the Zoning code to see if the code for the updates has been altered by mistake. -
Just Updating my status, since i reverted back to ATI 11.2 drivers game has not froze or crashed one time. Can play for hours on end with no problems.
I suggest others that have ATI cards give it a try also, cant hurt. -
K guys i downgraded to ATI drivers 11.2 and game is no longer crashing.
Both 11.6 and the newest 11.7 drivers were both causing my crashes. -
I have been having freezes for about a 1-1/2 weeks now.
I notice that once the game client reaches 1.8 to 1.9 gb ram used the client freezes.
After about 7 or 8 zone changes it freezes and since i have multi screens (might be a fluke) but its like some graphics are being cached by my graphics cards. Cause behind the crashed game I see a image of the last time I zoned into a zone.
(Example: I was in TV badge hunting, I got all the badges in the zone and game reached that 1.8ish GB ram useage and it freezes. I closed the client using the task manager and I get a 2 sec image of where I zoned into TV when I first got to the zone standing at the gate before I even got the first badge.)
Of the 4 crashes I had tonight all 4 did the same thing. All crashed at 1.8 to 1.9 GB ram useage from the client.
PC SPECS
Win 7 SP1
Core i5 cpu
Latest ATI drivers
2 x 5770 running in Crossfire
8GB ram
I never had any of these problems untill a week and half ago.
I even went as far as reinstalling PC from scratch.
Reinstalling COH with fresh copy.
Took video out of Crossfire
Changed out all video cards with other 5770's I have
With all my efforts I'm still getting Crashes and the strange images of last time I zoned when I kill client in task manager.
I also noticed when client is first started its using 1.1 GB ram before i even accept the user agreement.
I hope this helps find whats going on with my and other users clients. -
You all have really great points as to why it shouldnt happen, and few that agree with me that it would be fun. If it was scalable to lvl 50. It was just a idea that poped into my head, doesnt mean its was a good one, reason I asked for comments and feedback.
Personally if we could do it i would enjoy it!
My idea behind it was you had to run the real version first.
You dont collect the badges for doing it as a lvl 50 since you already got the badge at the lower lvl.
Was just kind of going for something that lvl 50s could do with full powers, and more content that wouldnt take alot of writing to get something out.
Thanks for your feed back guys, keep it coming. -
Quote:Good point. When you get a postcount as high as mine, you can assign homework. Your children's homework is this: practice waiting 30 seconds for something they want.
My issue was them complaining about having to wait, It was mine having to get up every few minute to re-enter the password lol. -
Quote:Do you realize that most of the lower lever opponents don't scale up to level 50? Sure they could scale them with the GM monster code but a level 20 NPC will still only have the powers available to him at level 20. That's woefully underpowered compared to a level 50.
And since there would be no risk involved there wouldn't be any reward to be earned.
Ahh good point I didnt think about the enemy not being able to go to lvl 50, or the powers. Was just a thought, had nothing else better to do at work lol. -
Well my main thing with it is I got 2 kids that play, and they love to change toons alot, and I hate having to put in the password for every single toon change. I dont give them the password, cause they are not allowed to play unless Im playing. Thanks for the replys!

I was wondering if anyone else would like to be able to run all the TF at lvl 50, meaning take a lvl 50 toon and run say Moonfire, at lvl 50.
Would it be fun? Could it be done? What are your thoughts? -
I been away for a few months, but I remember there being talks about being able to change characters and whatnot without having to completely relogin. What ever happened to that, or was it just rumor?
-
TBoxer i dont have a definitive yes, but i talk to bud Skye Forge, he may attend.
-
Yea was alot of fun, those Vanguard Wizards so kicked our butt. I would have to vote that to be the most difficulty mission I have ever been on. I think at one point I had like a -175% recharge, negative defenses, 0% end recovery, and 0% Regeneration lol. I died more last night then in the last 2 months lol.

TBoxer
Buddy is a go!
Not sure which toon he will be playing but when I show up he will be there also. -
I will talk to a buddy of mine tonight and find out if he would be interested in joining us.
-
Well if that one is getting fixed they will also be looking into the others aswell. But im just speculating.
-
I think hes talking about the Test center publish notes
Invention
Fixed a bug that would cause Numina's Convalescence: +Regen/+Recovery to have its effects boosted by being slotted in a power with enhancements that would increase regeneration or recovery rates.

The same applies for the other recv and regen procs -
Ty for the award!
Yeap it was a blast, alot of baddies and alot of dead ones now. Imagine how fast they would have died if we hadnt been on +4.
I'd like to see a TF with an all tanker team. Maybe we should try that as well!
Next time if I forget to check boards when you are setting up a team send me a pm I'm always up for a team. -
I'd like to be an Alt if someone doesnt show. Ro'gan LVL 50 SD/SS send me pm if needed.

Yes mine is after a few hours of game play also. So It sound like we are onto something.
Can someone on the boards please present this to a DEV and can take a look into it? -
Hi everyone I been getting crashes on different PC that I, my wife, and kids use.
I've been trying now for a few weeks to narrow the cause down. I have come to the conclusion that the game may not be dumping used memory. Almost all the crashes have happened once the game has used 1.1 to 1.4 GB of RAM. PCs this is happening on are all running Windows XP that this is occuring on (32 bit and 64 bit).
2 other PC are running Win7 and dont seem to be effected by this issue.
Has anyone else noticed this issue?
Issues seem to have been occuring since the Christmas Event started.
