I've also had this problem since maybe 3 patches ago. It's as if the regular Zone I am trying to load into has some Zone Event happening. Given up for now on trying to co-ordinate with NCSoft Customer Service.
72 month Vet.
WinXP SP3
nVidia graphics card.
Only zone where I don't have this problem is when I log onto a Character I have in Ouroboros.
What I then have to do this take a Character from Ouroborus and Zone a few times (Atlas, then Talos...also "expect" to be disconnected back to login screen. Just continue Zoning with this character).
This seems to free up all of my characters(account), on 4 Servers I play on. -

Try this:
In the copy, edit the properties so that the target contains the correct parameter for your account at the end. The command line should appear as:
If you have a North American Account:
(path)\NCLauncher.exe /LaunchGame=CohTest
If you have a European Account:
(path)\NCLauncher.exe /LaunchGame=euCohTest
The "new" shorcut's command should look like this:
"C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Launcher\NCLauncher.exe" /LaunchGame=CohTest
Got it from:

Hope this helps -
Your Graphic Settings are Stored Locally.
You have 2 options:
1) http://net-marks.com/oldsoftware/tweakcoh
2) or, if you are comfortable with Registry Editing, goto \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crytpic\Coh -

Congrats Marsha_Mallow on finding and getting rid of the maleware/virus on your machine.
And Thank you for the very good explanation of Windows vs Linux/Unix OS file permissions, je_saist -
I tried a "ipconfig /flushdns" but that didn't work. Rebooting the PC did

and how do you get one, for a Villain?
thx -
Check your Mouse Settings in the Control Panel. My "wheel button" on a WinXp system, using Microslop's Optical mouse is set for Autoscroll

While teaming with 2 SG friends last night, 2 of us were experiencing "slowness" in game play. Team makeup consisted of a Fire Blaster, a Healing Def, and a human War Shade, all level 34. The WS person said he noticed his CPU Util was at 100%, and rebooted. I tried to bring up my own Task Manager, but failed to see it behind CoH. Anyway, after logging out for the night, I saw the Task Manager showing the Processes running at 100%.
I am running XP SP3.
I've never notice this type of "slowness" on a 3 people team before 07/01's patch...anyone else? -
I am also experiencing this same problem since 7/01 patch

Server: Pinnacle
Character Name: All
SG/VG Name: Guardian's Refuge
When do you crash: Zoning
Does it affect all characters: yes
Does it affect only characters in one or more SG's or VG's: only my characters in the SG
This started about Sat, 2/7, for me.
I've re-installed my nVidia drivers and CoX to no avail. I've even uninstalled/reinstalled the Netgear NIC.
Some times I "crash" back to the Log In screen, some times I get the "Report this to Microsoft" nvoglnt.dll crash error.
I'm in the San Fran Bay Area and my ISP is SBC Yahoo.
I wonder if this could be related to the /Sync problem
