I've found it handy on my Dark Stalker if I need to break down the size of a mob before jumping into the mix. I've found that there's a good chance that the foe you just Teleported won't get aggro'd by the TP either, so I can even pull an Assasin Strike on them as well.
For comedy merit, it's also fun for 'dropping' low level foes off rooftops, but that's probably not what it's meant for -
Big apologies to the team I was on during a Lambda Incarnate Trial in this evening's i20 testing. I can't recal who else was on the team, although we were lucky to have Arbitar Hawk with us.
All was going fine, until my game crashed, and I couldn't get back in. By the time I got my PC responding, it was close to 10pm, and I'm fairly sure the team would have moved on by that point.
Hope you managed to get it completed, even without this duffer. -
In light of Avatea's post relating to i20 beta testing, is the Thursday Theme Team still meeting up this week?
I've no preference either way, but just wanted to check with others. I've posted here, as I can't recall everyone who was in the team last week (I should have been paying more attention). I'll also /tell those I can remember in game.

It does seem somewhat ill thought out. The intention (improved security) is welcome, but the implementation clearly hasn't been that good.
I managed to get into my account on the 4th attempt. These are answers I set almost 6 years ago, and can't even recal the case each answer was written in. I'll have to modify the answers now, and then make a note of them somewhere.
Like others, I also have a random IP address allocated to me every time I connect to my ISP, so I'll most likely have to go through the security questions each time I want to access my account page. Although, I guess that would make it easier to remember them... -
Ok, I've got a Ice / Cold corruptor, Triple Point, loitering with intent near Officer Flint.
Should be interesting ! -
I couldn't hang around for much longer on test, but it certainly was interesting to run the Lambda TF, and it was good to have Doc Aeon on the team as well - even if we didn't manage to complete it.
I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on, so I was just following the group, and attempting to aggro and hit as much as possible. I'm sure there's probably more subtle tactics required, but I didn't have much chance to test.
There were a lot of info texts popping up, but my window was pretty crowded, and I couldn't read them all. It took me a couple of minutes just to figure out what channel we were all takling on (I know, I know...)
Still a bit fuzzy on what we were meant to do with the big boss battle at the end, or indeed how our attempt failed.
I'm sure though, with collective experience, this will be easier to follow, and run.
It all looked good though. I'll post something similar in the Issue 20 feedback threads. -
Wasn't sure if I'd be able to make this or not, but it looks like I now have the evening free.
I managed to get RoboTank an Alpha slot back in Issue 19 beta, and hopefully that version is still on the test server. I'll know for sure when I log on
A bit last minute, but can anyone confirm if you actually have to have the alpha slot on your char for the BAF, or can you do it with any lvl 50 ? -
Heh, great minds an' all that eh ?
I'll keep an eye out for this. Heck, I might even go and re-run Crimson's arc now just to be ready... -
Howdy gang
Would there be much interest in running a Robot Rampage event some time in the future on Defiant ?
These used to be run regularly a year or so ago, but I've not seen one in a while.
The above link contains details from a previous run of the event, but the basic idea is that we get as many Kronos Class Titans in a central location (Kings Row usually) as possible, and have as many folks on site to take them down.
It's good fun, and a great community event. It's not restricted by archetype, or even level - although it is a blueside event (although I guess Rogues can take part if they want).
So, any interest ? Would EERC be interested in organising something ? -
Quote:This is the same experience I've had with RoboTank. Robo is an Inv / Energy tank, with Energy mastery as an elite/ancillary pool. Even with a healthy mix of IO enhancements (although no purple ones), he doesn't do enough damage to outpace Trapdoor's healing rate, even with a full complement of Red inspirations. He can take Trapdoor's attacks with no problem, and could probably last all day, but can't make a dent in Trapdoor's health. In my case, my Tank couldn't outpace his regen. Even knocking him into the lava and hitting him repeatedly with Envenomed Dagger, if he had even one bifurcation out, he could out-heal my damage. If I ran off to kill the bifurcation, by the time I got back, he was ready to bifurcate again. It wasn't that he was killing me, I just couldn't make any headway.
Taking out the bifurications is easy, but as JKCarrier experienced, by the time I got back to Trapdoor, he'd regained what little health I had knocked off him. -
I've pretty much given up trying to solo Trapdoor with RoboTank.
Robo can hold his own - the majority of his 50 levels were done solo - but doesn't pack enough punch to do any real damage to a self healer like Trapdoor.
Similar to comments made by earlier posters in this thread, I've tried all sorts of tactics in an attempt to beat him (including those posted here) but nothing seems to work. At one point, with a stack of damage inspirations, and some temporary powers, I managed to get him to the 50% mark, but no further. Even my usually reliable stuns weren't holding him for long enough.
It's not a major problem for me though - the incarnate stuff is interesting, but it's not something I'm overly fussed about doing. I might give it a try again when Issue 20 comes out, but I've dozens of low level characters to play with. I'm having more fun with the Alignment stuff these days anyway.
The very nature of the incarnate content does lend itself to tough challenges such as this though, so I think it's probably at about the right level. -
Doh!
I've no excuse for missing this, but if I come up with one, I'll update here.
Damn it, that'll mean I'll have to go do the washing up instead -
Hmmm..
Been having some trouble logging in over the past 30 minutes or so. I can get past the login screen - I get the moot "Check the server status page" message.
Anyone else having problems ?
Is this scheduled downtime ? (It's entirely possible that I might have missed a message about this) -

I think I was in 2nd or 3rd grade when it came out. I didn't see it till was on TV as an edited version. I enjoyed the heck of it none the less. (My dad watched all fun stuff with me, Aliens, Predator, Terminator and Robocop with me...TV edited but he still let me watch it.) I'm ok with them rebooting it. It might be fun too.
CGI? Pah! I remember when this was all stop motion capture...
Going to find my pipe and slippers now... -
Aha, thanks TameDragon. It was the "beginchat" slash command that I was missing.
6 years in this game, and I'm still learning how to use it -
Hey All
I've noticed that on some global channels, some folks are broadcasting their current character's name (and other info) alongside their global handle. For example:
Quote:RoboTank is my Global handle, but in this example, I'm logged in as my Stalker. Blah blah blah is the message I'm sending (not far off the quality of most of my communication eitherRoboTank: [Shadowcall, lvl44 Stalker] Blah blah blah ) The 'message' itself will always vary, but the info part is always consistent (with the character's details)
This is presumably done through a bit of neat macro / slash command wizardry (the exact format seems to differ) , but for the life of me, I can't figure out how people have set this up. I can't imagine folks are constructing this information each time they send a message, so I presume that they've got a macro or bind that starts a message on the relevant channel, adding in the character info, but doesn't send it - allowing them to add the actual message content themselves.
I hope I'm making sense here...
Can anyone point this duffer in the direction of some notes on how to do this ? (I did try searching for info on this, but couldn't find anything here, or at the various Wikis) -
If we're going for a Stoned theme, then I have my Earth / Rad Controller Stone Death waiting in the wings.
Anyone else up for this ? -
Anybody going to be up for another themed team / TF this coming Thursday?
Last week's all Electric Sister Psyche task force was good fun - a lot of sapping going on, and I think it would be fun to try something else.
Any thoughts on potential themes ? Perhaps an all Stone Team ? -
I'm probably way late to this conversation, but for what it's worth...
Quote:I generally find myself on the forums between 19:00 and 23:00 (GMT/BST) on weekdays, and all sorts of times over the weekends.- What time of day do you find yourself positing/reading the forums the most?
Quote:- What's more important to you? Having someone able to engage you and watch the forums during what would be considered "peak" posting hours or having someone who may be several hours behind, but has greater access to the development team?
I'll go back to my corner now... -
Quote:Ok, good show, I'll bring along my Dominator.Well of course my deliberate mistake means that I'd listed the WST as Sister Psyche when it's in fact Lady Grey but we can maybe get 2 of your goals from the other thread sorted by helping you complete a TF and a theme team at the same time.
I think your dominator would be ideal (since Scarlet's a blaster) so see you Thursday.
-
I'm determined to get more involved with task forces and the like, so I'll be keen to take part.
I have two Electrical themed alts I can bring along, either a trigger happy blaster, or a blueside dominator. Both are level 21. -
I've never:
Gotten more than one character to Lvl 50. Anywhere.
Completed a Task / Strike Force or Trial on any character
Been in a Supergroup for more than a month (and that was only with one toon)
Been active in a Supergroup (other than occasional global chat)
There's a pattern there, I'm sure...I'm keen to get more involved with events, but after 6 years in the game, I somehow still spend most of my time playing solo, or teaming with the occasional PuG
Must be my people skills -
This all sounds good, it sounds like a good challenge (which I guess should be the point if you're at the top of your game
).
I just hope the focus on high end content doesn't mean we see less folks running the low level content. I'm a self confessed Alt-oholic, and I'm more often running chars below lvl 15 than I am my high level toons.
If the bulk of players are going to be running the BAF and other incarnate content, then are we going to see less PuGs in The Hollows and the like ? (After 6 years, I still enjoy finding differerent ways to take down Frostfire)
I dunno - This, of course, is all most likely ill-formed conjecture on my part. I recall when the revamped Ritki War Zone was launched, nearly everyone was off playing Vanguard missions - as it was the latest thing - but after a while, things balanced back out. Perhaps we'll see the same with this.
Just my tuppence - to reiterate, I've no problem with any of the new content.
Cheers

Quote:As I suspected then. Is it just alignment & morality missions that are affected like this then? (I've never known normal missions to be dropped in this manner) I'll freely admit that I tend to 'skim' any release notes for stuff like this, and it's very likely that I missed this specific difference. When you levelled from 29 to 30 you crossed into the next tier of missions. Any alignment or morality missions from the previous tier are dropped and you'll need to obtain new missions from your new tier.
Are there details on these various tiers out there on the interweb ? (I have tried searching, but couldn't find anything - except this thread !)
Sorry, not trying to drag this out, but just keen to know if I've missed the obvious (which happens more often than I'd care to mention these days)
Cheers
