Outside of taking a screen-shot, is there a way to save a record of my Chat before logging off?
How? of course...and Where will it be saved?...and (not as important) in what format will it appear? -
I just dinged 37 on my PB, and from the start I've pretty much ignored all the human-form *attacks*, but picked up a lot of the click powers - Hasten, Build up, the self-Health boost (forget what it's called), Conserve Energy, etc.
So far I'm relatively happy with my build - there are a couple of things I might change in a Respec - but right now my concern is for what happens when hit 38 - and Light Form becomes available.
Light Form makes you pretty much indestructable while it's active, but you're stuck in human-form for the duration. So, not knowing this until I hit 37, and looked at the Guide to see what came next, I'll either need to respec and pick up (and slot) more human-form attacks, or opt out of Light Form altogether.
So there are some pitfalls to making a form-only build, some useful powers you risk missing out on, but as pretty much everyone else is saying, it's a very "trial & error" kind of AT right from the get-go. Most Khelds Respec at some point, some seasoned Kheld-runners have a specific level at which they'll ALWAYS Respec to "switch gears" once some late-level powers open up. -

Was surprised at the much larger drop in SOFTWARE sales vs. console sales - for some reason I think of PC gamers as older, with more disposable income, less susceptible to economic pressures that force cuts in things we "want" vs. "need":
Video Game Sales Continue to Fall
MATT RICHTEL; Compiled by DAVE ITZKOFF
Published: May 15, 2009
Video game sales in the United States totaled $1 billion for April, 17 percent lower than in April 2008, according to NPD, the market research firm. This is the second consecutive month in which sales have fallen sharply compared with a year ago, suggesting that the industry is not as recession-proof as it had hoped. Software sales fell 23 percent, while sales of consoles and handheld players dropped 8 percent. In a news release Anita Frazier, an analyst at NPD, said, This years performance still represents the second-best performance for the industry in the month of April. But it also represents a sharp drop-off, as sales of major consoles have been falling month after month. In February Nintendo sold 753,000 Wii machines but sold only 601,000 in March and 340,000 in April. Microsoft sold 391,000 Xbox 360s in February, 330,000 in March and 175,000 in April.

Where are you seeing that he's including PC games in his figures? It looks to me he's only discussing consoles and handhelds, so by "software sales" I take that to mean the game cartridges or CDs for said consoles and handhelds.
[/ QUOTE ]
You know I think you're right.
I musta mis-read this - he's using "software" for the game discs and cartridges, and "consoles" for the hardware.
This actually has nothing at all to do with PC software. When I see "software" I just automatically think PC, and had never seen it used to describe the console...discs, cartridges, whatever you wanna call it.
So...never mind! -

LMAO at the memory...was on a team last night with 3 PBs, a WS, and two melee-types (Scrap & Tank).
Oh the KB-frustration for those two! They were running and hopping every which-way trying to keep up with the flying baddies!
I laugh now, but felt their pain when I had to go Lobster-form for a while.
Even if one or two or even three of the Khelds were trying to control their KB, we were often working at cross-purposes and in fact there was NO control, whatsoever.
It was fun for a while (we all had some LOLs about it, even the Scrap & Tank), but by the end of the longish mish, I didn't blame either of the melee-types for Quitting in favor of a more traditional (i.e. low-KB) team. -
Yes this was discussed at length right after the Cimerora content was released.
IIRC, the consensus was that it was provided as a kind of demo that this was, in fact, possible, and perhaps as a bit of a tease for future content along these lines. -

MMOs are like methadone. They give you a controlled low level dose of gaming that makes it easier to say no to the hard stuff.

Great analogy - I agree 100%
I've noticed that the pace of my new game purchases has slowed drastically since becoming a CoH player.
I'm much choosier about what I pick up, and when...I, too, will wait to pick up a game on eBay when it's down to half what it was at release.
In fact, right now I'm awaiting the arrival of Far Cry 2, which I got on eBay for $12.99. -

It's easier to pirate PC games than console games.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah, good point - would be interesting to see if there was a corresponding uptick in pirating activity to go along with the drop in sales.
Don't think anyone (besides the FBI, of course) tracks that kinda thing, tho. -

Just a quick note to pass along a huge THANK YOU to @neuronia for introducing me to the Arena, and all the PvP zones last night.
It was tons of fun and I really appreciate the time you invested, dragging me all over, explaining everything as we went.
I expected nothing less from this community, but it does serve as a good reminder of why I play CoX and ONLY CoX as my MMO of choice.
It's all about the heroes. -
As expected - thanks for the prompt, informative replies.
I'll be on Freedom tonight @cougarific if any PvPers wanna show me around. -
So you can watch Arena matches?
Do you HAVE to be invited or can you just show up? -
Long-time player here, who has NEVER engaged in any type of PvP activity.
But I'm curious, and was hoping you could suggest the best way to start, where to go from there, and explain (in brief) some of the MOST BASIC ideas behind PvPing (e.g. how does xp/debt work in PvP, what ATs are best for a beginner PvPer (I have a number of 50s to choose from), and like that).
The guides I've looked at here seem to start with the assumption that you know at least a little about PvP, which I don't. Unless I didn't see the Guide I should be looking at...
I have 50s (heroes only) on Freedom and Liberty, and if anyone would be so generous as to offer to meet me in-game and hold my hand through my first PvP experience, I'd be up for that.
I'll be playing tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow night, for an unknown period of time between 7p - 12m Eastern U.S. time.
I'll check back for replies after I get off work around 6p ET.
Thanks! -

Happy birthday RobertoLyon!

We got you a nice Sister Flame mission arc....
[/ QUOTE ]
I was just thinking that!
Who could ask for a better present?!?
Working two 12-hour shifts this weekend but will be CoH-ing first thing Monday morning.
Thanks again for b-day wishes, and thanks to Wyll and Sister Flame for giving me something to look forward to! -
Firstpost after _Wyll_ w00t!
This will be my first MA arc - I can't wait!
Yaaaaay! -
As with the Forums, what if the game tracked your B-day (optional to provide this info, of course) and provided you with a few harmless Temp Powers or Emotes on that day?
Maybe a party hat to wear?
A noisemaker that spews confetti at enemies to Blind them?
/e blow out candles?
/e cut cake?
/e serve cake?
And in the realm of What if... What if, upon joining a team, all your teammates were allowed to use the Throw Confetti emote while you are on the team?
Any other ideas? -
Wyll, please keep us posted on the MA arc, k?
Belated birthday wishes, just checked in to see if there was already a Sister Flame arc to run. -
Considering asking the Mods about using the Forums to set up a stickied "MA copy-edit exchange".
Helpful players with strong writing and/or language skills offer no-charge copy-editing for any in-mission text - checking spelling, grammar, punctuation, and usage.
No content will be altered except where specifically requested, and even then changes will be minor (for the sake of both parties' sanity).
I don't plan on using the MA much, but I'm a professional journalist with copy-editing experience, and don't like to imagine that otherwise awesome arcs might get bad ratings due to avoidable errors, or confusing phrasing, in mission text.
Anybody interested? On either side? (copy-editors or people who might like some help with the writing) -

BTW, Sister Flame loves the bear icon and wonders why there are no bears in CoX... especially in the caves. She's pretty sure a bear is more dangerous than CoT.

So happy to see some fresh activity, finally, in my all-time favorite forum thread, the only one I have marked as a Favorite.
Best to Sister Flame and all you posse-members out there!
(I had to remove my membership badge from my sig for room, but rest assured I remain...)

Two quickies:
1. Having trouble telling if my AA is operating or not, after having set it up based on recommended settings in this thread - how do you pros usually do it, just take a screenie and switch back and forth to compare?
2. If I change something in CCC while CoH is running, should I see the change immediately or would I have to exit and restart CoH?
Thx -
I think this is *solved* never mind.
And by *solved* I mean I think my entire premise was wrong - that you use numbers 1-2-3-4 regardless of the tray number *as long as it's the Primary tray*.
Duh.
My first Kheld and I'm having some issues.
I want to be able to have 3 trays open (#1 for Human form, #2 for Nova, #3 for Lobster), but still be able to use the keys 1-2-3-4 to fire off my attacks, regardless of what form I'm in.
Right now if I switch to Nova form I have to drag the powers from tray 2 to tray 1 to avoid having to press alt+<number> to activate the power.
If I switch to Lobster form I have to drag the powers from tray 3 to tray 1 to avoid having to press ctrl+<number> to activate the power.
Am I making sense?
I want a bind/binds/macros that will make tray #2 become tray #1 while I'm in Nova form, and tray #3 become tray #1 while I'm in Lobster form.
I know there are binds that switch forms and bring up the appropriate tray - that's not what I need. I need to be able to fire off the powers in tray slots 1-2-3-4 using keys 1-2-3-4, regardless of whether it's an alternate tray or the primary tray.
Dunno if this is even possible.
Thanks for your time! -

Please don't flay me for multi-posting - Billz already gave me some support love in my original post, but I now realize that this is a better place for this to be at least mentioned, in case others find themselves in the same position in the future.
Here's a thread I started that explains the problems I'm having with error messages re: "GL_ARB_multitexture" at Launch, after installing a Sapphire Radeon HD3850.
Any help would be much appreciated - I miss my CoH.
Edit to add: Okay Here's a guy having the same problem, but with an Nvidia card - still, he says SpyBot was keeping some of his old drivers from being scrubbed, he tracked them down, removed them manually and it fixed his problems.

*SOLVED*
Turns out this was an issue with my *motherboard chipset drivers* not communicating effectively with my new HD3850 card.
I updated the *motherboard chipset drivers* via the manufacturer's website and am no longer experiencing this problem.
Good luck! -
