Dark defenders have been my favourite since I started playing one. I don't think I've had as much fun on a toon as I have on my dark/dp defender.
I went through and made a rough draft for myself of the powers and at what level I'll get them for a dark/dark/fire troller, trying to see how the powers would mesh together.
I haven't played it on Beta, but I think it's going to be more of a hands on, in the middle of things controller.
The description of the powers shows fearsome stare - what was it replaced with when it was removed? -
And we will have to run them all through the task forces... I can think of no better time than to pick a toon, make a team comprised of badassery and wreak havok on Posi, Synapse, Psyche, etc than 2x xp weekend! Wooo-hooo!

Quote:Dark Times at Paragon High:
Rules.
The TFs/Trial for this contest are as follows:
Death From Below: obtain all three badges for each team member.
Posi 1: lowest time
Posi 2: lowest time
Synapse: lowest time
Minimum Team Size: 4
Entry Fee: 0, 125 million, 250 million per team member. So a minimum team chips in 500 million, or 1 billion to the prize pool. Kult can pick the buy in...
Any AT is allowed. Any Combination of AT is allowed. Restriction is that the Primary or Secondary, must have Dark Control, Dark Affinity, Dark Assault, Dark Melee, Dark Armor, Dark Blast, Dark Meisma...or any Dark based powerset. Sadly, this excludes Warshades.
Goal: To get the lowest combined Time possible for the completion of Posi 1 and Posi 2, and Synapse. And have all of the DFB badges on each of the teammates.
Screen shots of each End time as well as a screen shot of the badges obtained for the DFB. Ideally, the screen shot showing the badges for DFB should include the teammates sighed up for the trial ahead of time.
50% of the pool will go to the winning team.
25% of the pool will go to the team with most deaths.
and 25% of the pool will go to me for the idea in the first place. Wait, no..that's not right. Looking at my notes..oh..
75% of the pool will go to the winning team
25% of the pool witll go to the team with the most deaths.
I don't understand the MOST deaths winning anything. It's rewarding players for a bad playstyle. The least deaths I can understand. The most is too easy to do. Just play fast, loose and careless. Or, stand on top of a tall building with a team mate who has recall friend. Fall off into a mob. Die, rez, port, repeat. Or even just pack yourself with rez inspirations. Rinse repeat.
NOT dying... now that takes skill. -
Here are two:
Most spectacular death screenshot contest.
I like the Amazing Race idea:
Team of 8, brand new characters (not players) and it's a race from 1-10, or 1-15 for the most badges, and levels gained within a weekend or set time frame.
That could be done by a variety of ways, street sweeping, or TFs or missions, BUT it has to be level 1s starting. Not exempted down, but brand new toons. -
Thank you for hosting this Sooner!
It was a lot of fun! -

Quote:Then don't call people out on the internet. True story.I got asked about it, so I took that as a sign that people were around and interested. I also had family stuff going on for Christmas and didn't have anything going on last night.
Ask me how much I care what you think of me. I started doing this to help everyone get the trial badges. It was meant to be an event open to the whole server that anyone could join, no level shift restrictions, no being told what to play, etc. I started doing this to be nice.
If you disagree with anything I said in my last posts, that's totally fine, but I really don't remember asking for your opinion. I also don't remember talking to or about you at any point.
I know that I'm being pretty harsh right now, I have no problems with you because I don't even know you, but I can tell you that if you intend to criticize me or whatever, do it with your pals on Skype, because I couldn't care less and I don't want to hear it.
There was no intent, no one even knew you were doing it. Just because you posted something does not mean you get the monopoly on it in game. That's the lesson. -
Yet New Years was ok? Huh.
Quote:And there's no need to get your posse to jump in this thread, I know the OG Protector cliques is OG and everything, but I'm pretty sure that you are able to stick up for yourself in a very competent way without help. -
Quote:I'm so sorry that that happened! It must have been very frustrating for you.I didn't see many of our regulars online tonight, basically it was just Stone and Exercitus. Granted, I didn't actively try to recruit either because someone decided to form an Underground trial in Vigilance at our normal starting time.
I know stuff like this happens and people are definitely entitled to run other trials, but personally I think it's just in bad taste to form a trial at the exact time when a weekly trial event is run... Especially if you're active on the forums and within the Protector community, which this person was. On such a small server, it's hard enough to put together a league for this kind of stuff as it is.
Thank you for explaining that something written on the boards takes precedence over everything else someone wants to run in game. I'm sure not a lot of people knew that. -
Quote:I was on that team tooI've run several successful MoMs - on Protector, and just earned the MoMom badge (Deathsurge was shy).
Happily completed my first successful TPN recently, and just need one badge for the MO on that one.
Protector was the first server to defeat the new Hamidon on both villain and hero.
We were one of the first, I think THE first, to succeed in the STF when it first came out (That was me, Impyre, Rastafari Man, Major T, Trickshooter, Stormtiger... and I don't remember who else). -
Quote:Well we couldn't even succeed on an 'introductory' Minds of Mayhem run with no emphasis on badges. I'm sure that this is going to be the usual trend with Incarnate trials on our server, in that other servers will be doing Master runs by the time our whole population learns how to succeed on the trial.
Don't sell the server short just cos you can't succeed in something. Protector has some incredible players and we've managed to be first for quite a few things if memory serves... -

So I am running around Steel Canyon today and I see this...
What the hell?! -
So, is this a permanent death, or will there be one of the many ways that they've brought dead superheroes back from the dead used on Statesman? Clone? Trapped in time, not really dead? Body double used?
I say we start a pool as to when States comes back and how. -

Quote:I just think it's pretty-freaking-silly to start a thread praising the voice of the dev team after a completely atrocious issue update that broke more things than it fixed... Especially considering the fact that this forum has a PM system for a reason- When you have a message to direct to a certain person, you message it to them.
The only conceivable reason for anyone to start or post in a thread brown-nosing the community team after they broke everyone's UI and bases is... Well, I'm assuming to score points or something? And if that's your thing, why not at least do it in an appropriate section of the board? You're starting a thread about it which means you want to get as much attention as you possibly can rather than just sending a 'thank you' PM so what's the sense in doing it in the Proctector forum...?
If you don't agree with the thread, why are you still posting in it?
It was a nice gesture. If you don't like it, move on. Geesh. -
My dark/DP/dark defender. So much fun!

Kraft pizza sauce is awesome for doing little pita bread or flour tortilla pizzas. Yum!

Interesting, I rebooted the game and the problem went away. Still getting the matrix-like animations for dual pistols, but the dark miasma animations are fixed. No more black swirly bubble.
-
I log in today to play and it looks like the animations are all messed up on my dark/dp defender. I know about the issue with the dual pistols animation looking like it's from the Matrix or something, but now my tier 2 attack looks like the tier 9 attack, and I have a HUGE annoying swirling black bubble around me as soon as I drop tar patch on the ground. What the heck is that? It's so annoying I had to log out or risk getting nauseous. As well, since it's black, you can't see what's inside it with you if you get close to mobs.
Anyone else having this issue? -
Quote:I'm playing a beam/dark corr and it's fantastic! Loving it. Lots of survivability and debuffing.I surprised no one has mentioned /dark. I have never really gotten into it, but I know it's supposed to be good survivability and seems to work well at range.
I was thinking of rolling a beam/dark when I come back from out of town, but maybe I missed something.
Edit: ignore 4 year old sig. -

Quote:Scotch:
1 shot Single malt Scotch in a low ball glass. Ice and splash of water optional.
Suggested scotches: Macallan (natch), Balvenie, Glenmorangie, Scapa
I saw the coolest thing in one of these kitchen stores... they were rocks. Square rocks that you put in your freezer so that your Scotch would get a little cooler, but not get diluted by melting ice. They were cool looking.
My dad always preferred Glenfiddich, but as a treat I like Oban and Glenlivet, but those treats are few and far between! There's a place in Cape Breton that does a single malt and is something I've been meaning to try, since I always try to buy local when I can. It's called Glen Breton. It's supposed to be pretty good.
