The funny thing about the damage badges is that any damage that you take that doesn't bring you below your base max hp doesn't count. This pretty much means that Dull Pain is a rather large inhibitor for getting the damage badges. Least, that's how it was last I checked. It might have gotten fixed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its still like that. Its even like that with hpt and accolades. Getting the 10,000,000 points of dmg badge was a pain on my /wp brute that already had the invader badge(task force commander on blue side). It was hard looking for a mob that would do enough damage to get badge credit for and at the same time not do enough to kill me while I was in rest.

    ITF Question

    [ QUOTE ]
    Why split them?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, we really didn't spilt them. Romi couldn't take all the pain we were handing to him so he jumped off the platform breaking los right before he droped the 2nd time. That left two nictus behind. The reason we had an issue the first time when we just charged him was because we thought we could ignore the ambush. Wrong!!

Why would they replace conserve power?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Scrappers and tanks can get conserve power in the epic pool. Stalkers and brutes can't. Most brutes and stalkers I know skip that power. Its totaly useless for them since power sync is the next power open and it comes back every 30 seconds 3 slotted with SOs and lightning reflexes. I will say no more for fear of starting to set trash.

    *coughs* Veats *coughs* khelds *coughs*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are you saying Veats and Khelds are somehow like what ranged "scrappers" should be? I really can't agree with that.

You can say you don't like the idea but certainly Veats and Khelds do not fit the bill.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm saying veats and khelds, more so veats and human form PBs, have a mix of melee/range with def. I'm not saying that they are what ranged scrappers should be. I am saying that that's the about as close as it's going to get to that concept. And anyway, have you played them? With the exception of mez protection, a PB has three heals (one in dwarf form). One of them is a Dull pain that can perma with recharge. And a tier 9 that puts them at res cap to all but psi (80 or 85%). Sound familuar? A bane and a widow can soft cap their def and do serious dps. Sound familuar? So my statemeant isn't that off the wall.
  5. We still on for sunday? I hope we get enough to this. After the STF run last sunday, I think 2 teams would be enough. How about lgtf as an alternate idea if lack of participation becomes an issue?

    [ QUOTE ]

    No.

    Never.

    Not gonna happen.

I'll lose respect for all Scrappers if they do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The fact is though before they screwed the game up by adding Archetypes in the first place that ranged "scrapper" was the most popular type (even in bad combinations). The only reason they took it out was balance. Certain blaster pools were just ludicrous with the armory secondaries.

For them to still be deathly afraid of a ranged scrapper is irrational. They can do it and have it balanced. I'd rather them not do it with the scrapper archetype but expecting them to have the funds to make a new archetype at this point is a pipe dream.

Not sure if this has been asked, but...

Given that we will be able to have different animations for some attacks, does this mean will will eventually be able to choose animations for all attacks? For example, a blaster who shoots everything from his eyes, like Cyclops?

    [/ QUOTE ]

lol, Rain of Arrows or Full Auto out of the eyes?... ROFL

    [/ QUOTE ]

While that will most likely not happen, Thunderous Blast out of the eyes would rock!!

    Dual Pistols....

    [ QUOTE ]
Would really, really love to see a Pistols Power Pool though (so many melee attacks in the tertiary pools, but wheres a supplementary ranged attack?)

Or even a Ranged Epic set would be awesome.

But Pistols Melee?, Gyah? No, no, no!

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. As an epic, it would be perfect. Dual weild, empty clips, that freez shot gunslingers use, and a stun shot. I know this won't happen. Oh well. Like Ludda said in Hustle N Flow, "Everybody gotta have a dream".
  10. In all honesty. It wouldn't have mattered if he had a true /DA build IOed out. Those overseers would of still gutted him. I got on my BS/WP scrapper to go hunt them for the badge once. The overseers where blue or green to me and everything else was grey. I figured it would be a walk in perez park. Wrong!! This was in FBZ. Who knows how bad it would have been in chantry. People do RWZ challenges. I'd like to see a storm place challenge. Lol

I don't see the issue of the clicks. I guess because /regen was my first. I think toggles have spoiled some of you /regen haters. Just about all non melee ATs have 2+ trays of click powers they use constaly to survive a battle and don't trip about it at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Some of us rolled our /Regen characters on the day the game launched and remember the fact that the set we rolled originally was a toggle based set.

    Integration+IH pre-ED was literally insane.

Regen scrappers used to solo AVs long before it became "fashionable" to do so and rarely had to touch any click powers other than Dull Pain and Hasten in order to do it.

The Devs saw this happening and thus /Regen became the "Nerf of the Issue" power set. This continued until a few releases ago where "Regeneration" morphed into "Click to Live"; a set which has very little resemblance to it's original form.

Personally I hate the new version and went so far as to use IOs to force the set back into something that at least vaguely resembles what it used to be.

With a base regeneration of 80 hp/second + the Heals from Siphon Life in my attack chain, I am back to where I only touch the "Click" powers of Reconstruction, Instant Healing and MoG very rarely.

And so, I am almost happy with the set again.

(and it only cost me 700m inf to do it)

    [/ QUOTE ]

See. Spoiled by toggles If I had been playing then, I might hate it now too. But saying that, I'd also hate /fire and /invul. From what I've heard from others, they got game changing nerfs that outraged everyone as well.

Ahh. DP/regen scrapper. Deadpool ripoffs comming soon. Lol

    QR

I always get a giggle when Scrapper argue about whether this or that set is best. A whole AT where every single powerset combo is near overpowered or better and people feel the need to argue about the details.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Its funny to me too. But to just out right trash a set is just wrong. Not even ela deserves that. I had to say something. New players will read that and treat it as law and miss out on stuff and stay misinformed. Great guide btw. That's the build I used on my BS/Regen leveling up. Its still the same for the most part.
  14. I don't see the issue of the clicks. I guess because /regen was my first. I think toggles have spoiled some of you /regen haters. Just about all non melee ATs have 2+ trays of click powers they use constaly to survive a battle and don't trip about it at all. So what if you gotta click more then 5 powers to play and survive. Go wine to that blaster or that troller or that defender about having to a self heal or a power that caps Hit Points or a power that gives near res cap and def soft cap to all but psi for 15 seconds or a power that raised your regen rate to survie and see what they tell you. True, lag is an issue but its an issue for anyone trying to attack. I've had lag death on my WP, /fire, and /invul. Ok, I'm changing the channel now. I already know how this show is going to end.

Oh. And to who ever that was that said "/regen was teh gimp" I would love to show your uber /wp and anyone else who co-signs that comment uber /wp who is teh gimp in the arena on test. I was more offended with that statement then werner is with mobs still standing.
  15. I hate target drone but I'm pro foc acc. Only because of the to hit debuff res and the ability to pick conserve power. Pre i14, I may not have cared so much about the res to to hit debuff. (Who am I kidding. Yes I would) Its a shame there isn't a way to manage the end drain of TD in weapons mastery. In that situation, I pick tactics over TD. Or just turn the drone on as the situation calls for.
  16. Aww man! Not this one again. Isn't about time they start airing new episodes and stop showing the same reruns over and over? *changes the channel*
  17. I never got into the combo trap with my DB/invis scrapper. (I did with my BD/WP brute when i11 went live) I use sweep and AV for aoe crowd control. That and that many orange numbers floating because of a non spine scrapper is cool to me. I can just as easily use BF, SS, 1KC, and TE. That's not a combo but it makes for some nice aoe dmg.
Non combo ST dmg isn't that bad neither. The downside is that the long animations are a pain vs targets that are trying to escape. I found that out the hard way.
And let's not forget about those lovely red cap daggers and rualuu fangs. (The rualuu claws are nice too)
  18. [ QUOTE ]
The animation feels sluggish to me. It fires right away, then there's that ackward pause before I can fire off another attack. Despite being only 1.32s, it always felt like a slow animation to me.

For my Claws needs I play a widow and am very happy with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I know exactly what you mean. When you see it played, it looks like non stop swipe and slash. When you play it yourself, it feels like something is missing. I really can't put my finger on it. And yeah, my widow "is" my claw/sr scrapper. (*Waits for GR*)
  19. I was in RV once with my dark/wp scrapper. This stalker thought I didn't see him and was about to AS me. Its funny how a soul drain slotted for nothing but acc and rech could hit threw such a high aoe def. This was pre i13. I then started to teach them it wasn't nice to sneek up on people.
  20. Someone on the brute thread sugested power boost. Makes sense to me.
  21. I'm a big fan of the blades
  22. [ QUOTE ]
I typically try to get from 11-15 on Positron if it can be assembled, and having S/L protection that's slightly better than an inspiration is not all that much help versus Vahz, CoT, and Clockwork. I do the same 15-20 via Synapse, where once again a dab of S/L protection is not all that needful, even if you could keep it going despite all the endurance drains.

Stamina ASAP makes sense under this a leveling regimen: especially since at DO levels, MoB does less for you than a single purple inspiration. I slot up RttC early, but don't take MoB till 24 and HS at 30, usually. I will not enjoy a character if I have to Rest after every spawn; or worse, have to wait for Rest to recharge. By doing this, you get out of that rut very easily.

    [/ QUOTE ]

When doing that, it makes sense. But I think I've done those TFs at level maybe 4 of the 15 times I've been in level range. True, the values are not high at that level but to be ready for the content I stated, i will need to already have MoB with slots ready. It helps a lot more then oranges alone. I did the stamina at 22 with a /regen, once. I can't remeber but I was missing out on something doing that. And in comparasion to non /WP and /regen alts who, some would say, have to work in the fitness pool for stamina to ready at 22, why not use the fact that you don't *need* to go threw that to its full advantage?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
No, no , NO!. With /WP, you take Quick Recovery at 20 and Stamina at 22, and you arrange your build by postponing Mind over Body and Heightened Senses until after Stamina is in place, at least.

You go with what you get the most of, which is regeneration --- more than enough to lift you through the early levels. And when you finally add those extra toggles, they will do something for you (SO levels) and won't wear you out. I've built nine WP characters with this philosophy and am building a tenth. The purely defensive toggles, the ones that aren't improving your regen or keeping you free from mezzes, simply ain't worth the effort before both QR and Stamina.

Early Stamina. Take the toggles when you feel you need 'em.

    [/ QUOTE ]

At level 22, I'm in striga island going toe to toe with family, warriors, the wolves and vamps. Before that, I'm in faultline, smacking around sands, castillo, noctorne, and kurse. I need mind over body for all that s/l and psi dmg comming. At 22, that power should have 4 slots ready for S0s and QR should have 3. You can get away with not taking it if you play on full teams all the time or if you maintain your insp tray or don't mind making the trips from the hospital. If you can't make it to a least 35 on a /wp with just QR then you are doing something wrong.
  24. you dont "NEED" fitness. if you take it, take it late and start on it after you get everything else you want. the only power you can skip in WP is the res. i normaly take it at 49 if at all. All of the powers are good with DM. confront is skipped by most. Touch of fear is playstyle option. dark consumtion is debatable. even more so if you happen to take stamina. as of the rest of the powers, take them. even the first tier (shadow punch). thats rare for scrapper sets.
