Quote:Well, if that's the case, then I guess the answer is: Yes, the Devs hate bases.[Sigh], you mean Sunstorm the guy who is a white name now? I can't get confirmation that he's even still with NCSoft any longer (In the past a red to white name designation change meant adios. But it's possible I guess it's an error or name change or something.)... let alone working on bases (or anything else).
-
I asked Sunstorm at HeroCon about bases, and he said that he did have things in the work, but that yes he's been heavily involved with GR.
I'm hoping that, like BaB, he's sneaking a little time hear and there to work on things for the base builders. -
Quote:I keep this in my mail just to have it handy.I'd rather have the option to decline non-team buffs. Or at least the graphics. People spend a lot of time on their costumes and take pride in their heroesÂ’ unique look. I go out of my way to turn off powers with graphics when I'm not on the job, or even disable the graphics altogether if possible (for sets like Invulnerability or Super Reflexes). So when I get hit with some unsolicited buff that sets my hero on fire or turns him into a pink ice cube, I often find myself wishing for Mystic Fortune's offer to "accept/decline".

/suppressCloseFx 1 <--- This turns on disabling of personal graphics effects if your camera is within a certain distance of your character.
/suppressCloseFxDist 300 <--- This sets that certain distance. BAB recommended 300 ft. If you don't ever want to see your GFX, then set it to zero. -
What I'd like to see, is for the Phantom Army decoys to actually be ghost images of my character.

This one is right up there with "Why can't I get on the tram!?!"

Sorry to hear that, Chan.
We'll keep the light on for your return. -

MI, it really depends on what style of art you are looking for. I would highly recommend heading to the S&FC forums.
Thor's Assassin has The Network stickied. Be warned it's a huge list of artists offering commissions on Deviant Art, and he keeps it fairly up to date.
Love Liz's work, I'll have to keep her in mind.
Many of the local talents have joined up in Deviant Art's CoH Group. If you scroll down to Artist's Alley, you can browse the gallery of the works they have done for many of our players.
I'll dig up some threads that have examples (or at least links) to some of the artists I really like. Like Wassy.
Pirate-Cashoo uses really vibrant colours in her art.
Eddy-Swan creates some might fine artwork as well. -
Works for me, then I could retire my notebook.

UberGuy, after going through this thread, and seeing Fire_Minded's posts revert almost instantly, I think your above comment sums up the the OP quite concisely.

I've had the same problem on my new machine. Blows that it happens, good to know that it's not just me.

Quote:By that I meant the games knows when there is one exploration badge left before the zones beacon badge is awarded, and will award the beacon no matter who gets that last exploration marker.
I'm sure there are SG's out there that have had this issue, even if the same character gained all of the beacon badges.
It's what I thought might have caused it back when I lost one of my beacons. -
-
Wait, people still get email?
Can't say I've had that problem since I turned it off to anyone not on my list. -
Agge, there was a 2XP Weekend last year in January.
-
I've had this happen in my VG before. The only thing that came to mind at that time was that a friend left the game (taking their character with them) and one of their characters was the one that had 'earned' that beacon exploration badge.
I realize that the beacon badges are SG-wide, and it doesn't matter who gets the exploration badges for a zone to get the beacon badge.
The game obviously keeps track of the badges, and knows who gained that last badge for the beacon. -

Quote:Probably Hydra Heads, they're still there.I was attacked by some sort of tentacles once when I accidentally jumped into the water near Doc Delilah. I don't remember what they were called.
That was over a year ago and I haven't seen them since. I'd hardly class them as a giant monster... but it was strange and a bit terrifying when it happened since I was new to the game. -
I think I'll go to bed now, I should be rested by TF time. -.-

Quote:Actually, I think Lili von Shtupp's song will pass:I think that may be the only quote from Blazing Saddles that's board-safe
Here I stand, the goddess of desire
Set men on fire
I have this power.
Morning, noon, and night, it's dwink and dancing
Some quick womancing
And then a shower.
Stage door Johnnies constantly suwwound me
They always hound me, with one wequest.
Who can satisfy their lustful habits?
I'm not a wabbit.
I need some weeeehhhhhh...
[Takes a breath]
...eeeeehhhhsst.

Jim: "What did you expect? "Welcome, sonny"? "Make yourself at home"? "Marry my daughter"? You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons"
