Mouse jumps over enhancements

Whenever I try to place enhancments normally or during a respec and I try to point at an enhancement, the mouse jumps up to the left when the cursor changes to a hand. It makes it really hard to pick them up and place them.

I'm using AMD 64 x2 processor, Sapphire Radeon 3850 graphics, windowed mode (though I have the same problem when not windowed)

Known problem with some/most ATI video cards in this game.

Check out the sticky in the Tech Support section by Billzbubba.

If you click above and to the left of the enhancer, you'll pick it up normally and can place it. A bit annoying, but there is no current fix.

Maybe it will be fixed by the Ultra-mode changes in GR.

edit: My new 5770 does it, too.

My 3850 does this as well (but heck what a video card, amIright? Thought it was time to scrap the AGP mobo but this little wonder breathed new life into my system).

Make sure you have the latest drivers, they *help* the situation, allowing your mouse cursor to get a *little* closer to the Enhancement, but don't completely fix it.

You get used to it after a while...This bug has been here foreeeever.

Unfortunately, yeah, it's a forever bug. It's made things a little scary occasionally when doing respecs and moving zillions of inf worth of IOs around. Replacing the wrong one because your cursor is off...

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

I've not encountered this problem yet?

/e runs and finds the nearest tree, hugging it tightly

Had to deal with this bug over Christmas on an ATI equipped computer.. I was sooo happy to be off that thing and back to an Nvidia card.

yes a great card for the money though the last I'll upgrade on AGP. It's a shame it has the water and other issues tho, but it's powerful enough to run at near the top of everything.

Now that I think of it, you're right. I may have to turn placement prompt back on just in case.

Just started having this problem a week ago after 18 months of play on the some computer. Felt pretty weird.

Sometimes it doesn't happen. I rejoice if I get into the screen and the cursor isn't changing to a hand when hovering over something. It works fine as long as the cursor remains an arrow.

Strange and irritating bug.

I bought a new video card.

It wasn't the deciding factor, but it contributed to the purchase. My cheapo 9600 GSO also fixed the dorky water reflection error too. THAT really bugged me.

I had to turn the enhanced water stuff off because I couldn't stand the weird reflection issue.
