Who would you recommend?

I'm looking to commission a piece of art work based on my characters. However, this is going to be somewhat of an important piece to me, so rather than picking an artist mostly at random, I would like to see who the folks here would suggest as a good artist. I know a lot of folks here have had art made, and I trust you lot more than most folks.

Also, since we're on the subject; the piece I'm looking for is on a bit of a deadline. About how long does it usually take to have a piece done?

A: You crash into another one.

I was REALLY happy with the piece I had commissioned of the Sooner sisters, by Liz Chesterman:

I'd have to dig out her contact info, or I'm sure Trickshooter will be along shortly with it.

EDIT: Here it is: Liz Chesterman imaginatorcentral@gmail.com, http://www.imaginatorcentral.com/

Liz worked pretty fast, tho there was one brief period when she dropped out of contact for a little while. She was very accomadating and worked hard to make sure I got the artwork I wanted.

MI, it really depends on what style of art you are looking for. I would highly recommend heading to the S&FC forums.

Thor's Assassin has The Network stickied. Be warned it's a huge list of artists offering commissions on Deviant Art, and he keeps it fairly up to date.

Love Liz's work, I'll have to keep her in mind.

Many of the local talents have joined up in Deviant Art's CoH Group. If you scroll down to Artist's Alley, you can browse the gallery of the works they have done for many of our players.

I'll dig up some threads that have examples (or at least links) to some of the artists I really like. Like Wassy.

Pirate-Cashoo uses really vibrant colours in her art.
Eddy-Swan creates some might fine artwork as well.

In fact, I just talked myself into another commission.

You have a good point here. Basically, I'm looking for a comic book cover, staring M I and Momma Abrahms. Once I have the completed work, I'm going to take it to the photo shop, to get it professionally 'developed' I guess we still call it. I'm then sending it to the real Momma Abrahms for a birthday gift.

I'm going to have to agree with Red and go with Juggertha, i think he does some really fantastic works of art. But really we have a lot of talented artists on the forums. I'm Also a little partial to 8Baller.

I had my work done by the artist who did the orginal run on the CoH comics.

I don't know if you saw it when I posted it on here awhile back but it was very nice I thought.

Not sure how fast hes working now but I can get his contact info someplace.

I was going to say Liz, because Liz is awesome, but after you said what you plan to do with it, I'd say Juggertha would be a good choice. He does a lot of things made to look like covers (or OHOTMU pages).

I want to get another commission from Liz done soon, but waiting for the next paycheck.

Brandon McKinney is the original coh comic artist. I think he's running some sort of promotion right now:

John Becaro has done a lot of coh commissions and has very reasonable prices. You'd have to check on his availability at the moment.

Tacloban has also done a lot of cox work, much of which is cover style layouts:

Thanks hippie-****. You're a big man to say that after everything I've unloaded on you.

I'm not currently available for commissions. I've been working on a pinup art book for a few months now and I have a large group commission I've taken on as well. I hope to be available again in a couple months for people interested in commissions (I'll announce it on my page and in the fanart section).

There are a lot of good people doing commissions out there right now, I would suggest really deciding on whose work you like and then seeing if they are available within your deadline.
