Quote:I agree.I am immensely irritated that the costume powers de-toggle my stealth powers (except Hide). The slotted-up Shadow Fall on my fender would make it much easier to cope with all the NEnergy damage-dealing ToT beasties. Guess I need a ToT team for her.
I don't recall it working that way previously, but I guess it's never been important before.
Run Shadow Fall
or wear costume.
Can't do both.

Quote:This is a sarcasm post right?I'm not buying any more of your damned costume packs until you get rid of the de-evolution thing on Secondary Mutation from the Mutant Pack. I don't like paying someone to play jokes on me. It wastes my time and my friends' time if I'm on a team. It's not funny to me, and it's not cute. I could just not use the power, but I PAID for it. I thought the devs had more respect for their customers than that. No company stays in business if they slip little "jokes" into their customer's products. How would you like it if you bought a car that the paint washed off of the first time you washed it just because the manufacturer thought it would be funny?
Boycotting the Origins Pack.
If not...
You're griping about a power that will grant you:
Reduced Recharge (30%) or
+Movement Speed (15%) or
Endurance Discount (30%) AND +Regeneration (30%) AND Resist(Stun, Sleep, Immobilize, Hold, Terrorize) (50%) or
+Def(Smashing, Lethal, Fire, Cold, Energy, Negative Energy, Psionic) (5%) or
+Accuracy (3.3%) AND +Perception (60%) AND +Def(Melee, Ranged, AoE) (3%)
ALL of which last for 20 minutes.
or
You turn into a Rikti money...
...for one whole flippin' minute!
Now, if Devolution lasted for 20 minutes I'd see a reason to complain. There is a simple solution. Quit hitting Secondary Mutation while in combat. -

Quote:I don't see where the OP mentioned anything about the Halloween Tip mission, just costume drops. <.<Were you wearing one of the temp costumes (from trick or treating or codes given out by the community team) when you knocked on the doors? The Halloween Tip will only drop if you're in costume.
As far as I know 'Clothes Horse' is only awarded from receiving costume temp power drops, unless it is also somehow counting, drops of teammates. -
Welcome Toxic.
As you've already found out, Protectorites can be a very peculiar bunch, fiercely individualistic, that will band together when the occasion warrants it. We'll try to not be too rough on you, but no guaranties. -
Quote:Well said, Stalemate.Hey Toxic,
I wanted to draw attention to something those of us who benefit from PERC's activities often forget:
You guys rarely get the recognition you deserve.
In fact, for volunteers who give away their time and resources, your efforts go largely unappreciated. Most people who haven't been in PERC will not understand how much of your available game time is devoted to designing activities, coordinating events, and reporting results - all the while keeping a stiff upper lip and acting as PR officials on whatever server you're involved with.
And all this after dealing with work, family, studies, etc.
You're very often criticized for not giving even more of yourself, and that's pretty much the only feedback you get out of all this, since there's no tangible benefits that I know of for volunteering in the first place.
My thanks go out to you, the other server reps, and Protector's own roster of former PERC reps. I may have left PERC since I found it did not mesh well with our server's mindset and became more of a hindrance for what I wanted to do personally, but I still recognize that you guys work hard to better our gaming experience.
Protector is fiercely independent, but it has some of the most knowledgeable and helpful folks it's been given me the privilege to know.
You'll find most of the "in house" event planners are quite successful already at planning, funding, and running their own activities here and that we actually require very little maintenance in that regard.
That doesn't mean we don't appreciate the extra help, and in fact perhaps you might want to consider ways to assist already ongoing server events. No other suggestions to offer (I keep those for my own events), but again:
Thank you, and good luck.
Another +1 from me. -
Quote:Currently at work so I can't check, but I believe stars and sparkles have a light (infrequent) and heavy(constant) mode. On characters that have auras, I tend to use the light mode.Aura:
Subtle. Subtlety is key. I think what I'd want to do with this one is less based off of "Reality" and more based on how people
Faint sparkles and stars. Not like the stars we have now, no. More infrequent. Hecks, remake any of the other auras but more infrequent or subtle. An Earth-born natural hero is the most understated of heroes. Like Batman and Daredevil, there's the recurring implication that they are weaker than other heroes but compensate through something extraordinary. Batman uses his brains, whereas Daredevil's just really really well trained (His super-senses were retconned into "Not super powers, he just practices a lot" during the original Frank Miller run). Any auras that emphasize that are a win with me.
Quote:Addendum Quote:: Currently, the vast majority of free auras have this "I am brimming with POWAAAAHHHHHHHH" approach. I never play characters like that. Auras have very little appeal to me for precisely this reason. The only aura I've ever sincerely used is the Battle H.U.D. in the Technology pack. I use it precisely because it shows up rarely and only in its appropriate context. Walking around going "Hey, look at me! I'm powerful and glow! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!!!1111" is how I perceive a lot of the auras. I turn them off.
----
It should also be noted that when one says Natural, they don't mean "Earth-born mortal with no powers and will never earn any ever". They mean natural for that species. Superman is a natural hero. So is Starfire. Once you keep this in mind, the possibilities open up vastly. Simply saying "Batman is natural and has no aura" limits things far too much.[/QUOTE] -
Quote:If you've never bought a Booster Pack and don't intend on buying on, what do you care what price it is?Exactly.
I see the micro transactions business model is going strong, but it's probably not the devs I should be thanking for this. Remember the times when this used to be included with the monthly payment. Never bought a booster pack before and this pack doesn't really change things.
Edit: Seriously? 10 bucks? That's the price?
$10 is less that what I spend on my Sunday breakfast out which is a one shot deal. I sit down at my favourite restaurant for a couple of hours, chat with the other regulars, eat my meal, read the paper. Then it's over.
vs.
$10 and I get to enjoy new auras on my characters from creation on up, for as long as the servers are alive.
I find the second option to be a much greater value.
EDIT:
LOL!
and eww. -
Quote:They should do the same thing that I suggested with capes. Make all capes and aura available at level 1, give the Cape mission one unlockable cape (not Hero 1's cape but maybe an homage,) and the Aura mission an unlockable aura. All these new "level 1 auras" really kind of mess with the coolness of unlocking an aura at 30.
A: "Sweet, I got to level 30 and did these missions and look what I got!"
B: "Big deal, I spent 10 bucks, got mine at level 1, AND it looks cooler."
I know it's not power creep, but...eh. -
Can't say that I ever hear "Farm forming, send tell" spam broadcasted in Atlas Park, or any other zone for that matter. Oh, that's right, I don't play on Freedom.

I'm on Skype nightly with my friends in-game, and as far as I know, none of us have had this issue.

For those that cannot see the video, Elric was good enough to post images (though the thread has been locked so I can't quote it easily.)
For those of you who can't see the video just yet. I have some screenies for you. Not the greatest and i'm sorry but it can at least give you an idea.Oh and yes I know some of the auras are hard to see mostly the first tech and second science. In no particular order:
Magic:
Mutation:
Natural:
Science:
Tech:

Saw this on youtube.
I will be buying this baby, I have so many characters that this will work for. -

Quote:Only if it's an option. My Illusionists Phantoms are her enemies fears realized, so in that regard they should not look anything like my Illusionist. I'd be much happier if my Phantom Army could be the same appearance as my Phantasm, ie barely there. With the inclusion (and almost downright obsession) of doppleganger type enemies... I was wonder if it were possible to alter the Decoy Army power so that they looked like your character?
It's possible it would require quite a bit of an investment, but I think it would be a rather interesting alteration. Especially if you could choose which costume number they use in the tailor. -
Quote:You are missed, BB.Hehehe...I forgot...check the global if you see a color name...that is my theme that I picked up for some reason... Oh and Welcome to Protector!
Quote:Hola! Me llamo Hyperstrike.
And that's about the extent of my knowledge of polite Spanish.
I'm that snarky, overgrown ******* of a tank you see all over the place.
If anyone know me it's usually as Angel Red.
If you see a variation of the above name blueside, it's usually me. Such as
Sanguine Ophanim
Crimson Angelicus
Garnet Avatar
Ruby Cherubim
Scarlet Seraph
You know, I'm sensing a trend with the players on Protector... <.< -
Click on Powers above your power bars, then Combat Attributes.
+ to expand each section
rt-click and select 'Monitor'.
In the window where they are monitored, you can rt-click and move or down, or stop monitoring. -
I found the the Holiday Inn-Civic Center has rooms starting around $108.
-
Some people are just unfamiliar with TJ, Philly.
And I can't wait to return the favour to Justice. (And hopefully work wont run late and I can actually attend.)
And I don't know about any of you, but Angel Red was not amused with he Praetorian counterpart.
I sense a smack-down coming... -
Grey, you're in the wrong section. The Base-Builders Nerdrage etch-a-sketch is up in the players section.
Yeah, I agree with ya. We needs some base love in this game. -
Quote:So Red - you're a mentor or a new player?
(inside joke I actually asked Red that on N P C last night)
And if you hadn't mentioned your global in the post prior, I wouldn't have immediately recognized you in N P C.
I think it's a good idea, it reminds people that are in the channel that it's there. Not everyone looks in their globals or channels to see if someone is on. -
Quote:^^This. The average computer is indeed better. But then again the average burden of information in each costume has gone up too.
I'd rather sacrifice a few seconds on a change timer for far more elaborate costume pieces than we had 6 years ago.
My computer is right at 1 year old and off the shelf, because I needed to replace my fried laptop that day. I can run the game just fine at just about minimum Ultra settings.
But considering that people have binds to engage all of their toggles when logging off... at the market... for which there can be no other reason than to grief others, I would fully expect people to take advantage of the lack of a timer to spam their costume changes.
I am not opposed to dropping it to say, 15 seconds, but I would be opposed to eliminating it entirely.
