  1. There are laws in RI and QC that make it prohibitive for anyone outside that state/providence to offer contests on their home-turf.

Unfortunately there's not a lot NCsoft can do about it, those residents should take it up with their own legislature.
  2. Tartyr, your ears must've been burning because I was just wondering where you had gotten off to.

Glad to see you're still planet-bound.
  3. I see hackles going up.

    ----------------

I have an Arc I'm working on that I'd love to enter, but it is far from complete and I don't foresee getting it done it time.

I know there a plenty of Protectorites out there that can take up this challenge and win.
  5. No sympathy from me, I've worked every weekend (except for one and that was HeroCon) since I started playing.

So every 2XP weekend sees me pulling some late night.

I'd like to see my mains twin over on Justice ding 50 (hovering at 45), but I also don't want my friends stuck playing their 50's while doing so.
  6. LOL, love the new ticker, Janlee.
  7. Looks like I wont be heading to my friends after all...

    *nudge* *nudge*

    *wink* *wink*

Although I will be heading out to dinner fairly soon.

I would so like to have this in the MArc I am working on. As far as exit animation, if that's your 'Mission Completion' criteria, then it doesn't really matter after all, your looking for the door, completing the mission and exiting, gives you that animation.

I would find this option to be a perfect lead-in to the next mission.
  9. Thing is, you Allies behavior is dictated by the mission creator and I'm not sure about overriding their settings.

It would be nice if we had some other options in Ally behavior beside, 'Bump on a Log', 'Stop Touching Me!', and 'Kamikaze'. Maybe 'Whites of Their Eyes' would be helpful.

Granted it would also be nice if we had these kind of controls over our own pets.

    Forgot about that.

As far a PK is concerned, it really doesn't matter what he changes his name to, most everyone will continue to call him PK.

I'm bad, that's something that I need to be reminded about.

An overzealous firewall could also explain the blocked / unreachable IPs.
Not to mention, I've had Norton forget my permissions for CoH and the updater, and have had to go in on several occasions and re-Allow them. Seemed to occur most often after CoH updates, though not always.

With almost a year left on my subscription on Norton, I uninstalled that POS and am now using Malwearbytes and Avira.
  13. Send a PM to Niviene, they were allowing people to remove their _ from their names. Not sure if it will happen or not because they warned people back before the forums changeover to choose the name you wanted, as there would be no options for users to change their names like we could in the old forums.

    I agree.

Of course, I also got -rep from anonymous twice. I'm an idiot who should shut up because I have no idea how to play.
Seriously? I've not see anything in this entire thread that deserves a -rep, most certainly not because someone has a different opinion.

I get the feeling that at time, those giving -rep aren't even taking part in any discussion, just lurking and get their panties in a bunch over someone elses comment.

This. I find Globals much more reliable for teaming than broadcast.

With the change to the email delivery options, I expect to see a lot more people showing up. I know I've been taking my characters off of 'Hide from Searches' since this change.

Now I can clear my ignore lists and start fresh.
  17. Eisregen, probably the same person that -rep'd me and stated that I was a rep farmer. lol
  18. I laugh at it myself. The last one I got I was called a rep farmer.

Edit: The ones that really crack me up are the ones with the negative comments, but they forget to change the button. I don't mean like GA's where he was threatening to kill Protector either, but still gave +rep.
  19. Yeah, judging someone's age by their taste in music is not all that accurate, as Peter and the Wolf by Prokofiev is my all-time favorite piece of music, and that's quite a bit older than I am.

It is not nor can it be justified. I'm sorry I have to be quite so critical, Eisregen, but I find this sort of thing appalling.

Here's how I see things - the moment you cross the line into wilfully and purposefully inflicting harm upon other people, you lose any sort of moral high ground to complain about them. "She started it" doesn't cut it in my world. I don't care if the woman in question was the reincarnation of Satan, himself, there is no way I will ever be convinced that doing what you say you did is the better call over simply stepping out of the way.

If this is the kind of attitude I invoked with this thread, then I want nothing more to do with it. The subsequent disturbing comments on the matter only serve to reaffirm my position.
Now see Sam, these are the kind of posts I have come to know you for. You are almost always a voice of moderation, and your comments tend to evoke a process in people in which they put on the brakes and stop and think.

I know I did, and you're right. I doubt that it would have changed my actions. But that only proves to me that you are a far better person than I am.
  21. Personally, I never told anyone to shut up, nor would I. Everyone here has a right to express their opinion, just as anyone here can choose to ignore others comments about the tools within the game that allow a player to combat or mitigate quite a bit of the "unfairness", "faulty mechanics" in the game, and what the game doesn't have tactics will overcome.

I may not agree with someone's ideas, but I do not oppose their right to express them. I do oppose anyone advocating an

Personally, I would have been more subtle, but the results would have not been, she would have been eating pavement. Helps that, like Zek, I myself am female and there's no social stigma against one woman hitting another.

Short story: An old roommate of mine got suspended from school for punching a girl in the face, several times. His reason for doing so? She hit him in the head with a baseball bat. Why? Because he had hit a home run during the baseball game they were playing. -.-

I agree with Eisregen, if she wanted to be a selfish, thoughtless, and reckless *****, she needs to understand that there are consequences that come with those actions.

Not having mezz protection does not get your character killed, inability to adapt to a situation, and not being prepared gets your character killed.

Going to borrow a Marine Corp mantra here...

    Improvise, Adapt and Overcome

Do not assume that as you put it because "squishies weren't a good fit for me, but being mezzed is completely boring, frustrating, and it's disappointing" that you are The Voice for all us squishies.
