I'm softcapped to s/l defense on mine and have perma-hasten so I'm sure you can have it too. Here is a build that is softcapped and perma-hasten...it's not cheap. You can probably get a cheaper build with softcapped s/l on the forums.

As far as I know...I thought fire/rad was more of a melee character and therefore you should go for smashing/lethal defense.

That is one messed up build...what are you shooting for? Recharge, defense, resistance, regen, recovery? What are some of your must keep powers?

Have you thought of putting the set of 5 Coercive Persuasion into Confuse and the 5 Malaise into Mass Confuse? Just think that you'd get better results having your Confuse working like a mini Mass Confuse with the Contagious Confusion in the single target Confuse. I hope I didn't confuse you talking about all of this confusion stuff. LOL. You'd still get the same set bonuses...or...if it's not too late, I'd think of going Mind/Kin to complement the /cold and /fa's that the wife and kids are playing. -
I made a few changes to get you more recharge. I added 2 Purple sets...I know, I know...purples are expensive but these are some of the cheaper purple sets and give you 20% more global recharge. I changed your tactics slotting for the Adjusted Targeting which nets you another 5% global recharge. I got the 5th slot into bile spray for 6.25% global recharge. I slotted Transfusion with Doctored Wounds for another 5% global recharge. I also added another slot to Shark Skin which gets yet another 5% global recharge. So in all I believe I gained 35% global recharge and took Nerve Alpha which nets you the accuracy that you will need where I took accuracy away like when I replaced Transfusion with Doctored Wounds. You had the Call To Arms in Coralax but I threw in Touch of Lady Gray because you were at the max set bonuses for 6.25% recharge when I added the 5th slot in Bile Spray and slotted the 5th Posi. Now with cast time, you are just above Perma Hasten by a couple of seconds and with 1 Siphon Speed you are easily Perma Hasten. Not sure if you'll like these changes but I thought since you were going for recharge I could steer you away from the Spiritual Boost. I don't think any /Kin toon should be shooting for the Spiritual Alpha.

I would guess it depends on which Nerve Alpha you were taking and on which AT...
I find that the Nerve Alpha is great for my trollers and dominators. -

I guess when I made the toon it seemed expensive but looking at prices of the IO's I chose now it seems like I got them for a steal way back when.
I thought about changing up my SB and maybe one day I will...Your points are well taken.
I slotted Fly Trap with the Call To Arms for a lil extra HP's and for some recovery but I know as a /Kin I am never really hurting for end. That is another power I may change in the future.
If/when I free up a slot I will most likely put the Grav. Anchor Chance for Hold into Roots.
I put the 3 Heal Procs in Health as a habit...have done it since recipes came out. Another point well taken in slotting a Numina Health into Health.
JanusFrs...I Hope you get some ideas for your Plant/Kin there are many ways to go so remember none are wrong...just experiment with your playstyle. -
I chose the Nerve Alpha for my Plant/Kin. You can never go wrong with extra Accuracy, Hold, Confuse and Defense.
Here is the build, it's not cheap and took me awhile to get the influence and IO's I needed. Maybe you can get some ideas from my build. I love playing my Plant/Kin and it never seems to get old. Good Luck with your build.

How good is Arctic Air, Choking Cloud and World Of Confusion? Thinking of making an Ice/Rad/Psi...I would assume the purple confuse set would go into Arctic, maybe 5 unbreakable constraints and the chance for +2 mag hold from lockdown for Choking Cloud...but what might I put into WOC? I was thinking dmg procs...not sure.

You'd be better off piecing a new rig together with mid to higher end components...can get the rig up and running for much cheaper and with room to grow.

I'm gonna look at the build some more and see what fits my playstyle...I did add damage to Short Circuit: Scirocco's Dervish Acc/Dmg and the Chance For Lethal Proc...giving me a bonus of 10% to Regeneration and also added Obliteration; Chance for Smashing Proc and Eradication; Chance For Energy Damage Proc...have had these in storage for ages on a different toon so I decided to use them.
I am also going to look into slotting for Smashing/Lethal Defense...hadn't thought about it much since I can just pop my PFF for a second to regen if I get into trouble and with the recharge I have it doesn't take long for it to come up if needed...definitely gonna look at the smashing/lethal defense aspect more now though. -
I've been playing C.o.X. for 4 1/2 years now and have finally made a blaster (1st one I like and haven't deleted.) I don't like having to run in and out of mobs to ensure my safety and have never been very fond of hover blasting. I didn't enjoy playing an Arch/Ment, even though it is made of pure awesome. I am a melee kind of guy and decided to make an Elec/Ment. I find myself in Melee Range ALL the time.
I am having so much fun with this toon. I play on Victory Server and haven't seen many or even very few toons with this Primary/Secondary. I have looked for threads dealing with Elec/Ment but have found none...always Elec and another secondary or another Primary and Ment as the secondary.
I am hitting Aim + Concentration and then running into the mob and Drain Psyche for nearly 98% HP/Sec Regen. (Depending on the size of mob). I know the mob is hitting me but you would never know because of my regen. I then stay in Melee and fight till nothing is left to kill.
I would like to get feedback, from you experienced blasters, on my build or quite possibly from others that have chosen the same Primary/Secondary as myself. As I stated earlier...1st Blaster I've Kept till 50 and 1st Blaster I've really enjoyed playing...I'm not finished IO'ing the toon out...I am still working on 5 Slotting two powers with purple sets so I can get Recharge up to 170% and only miss perma hasten by 2.63 seconds (including cast time), but it is fun to play and will hopefully be even more fun when I get finished slotting the last 2 sets. I did switch the levels at which I took certain powers...So hopefully no one has issues with that. I am open to suggestions.
