All Melee...All The Time

I've been playing C.o.X. for 4 1/2 years now and have finally made a blaster (1st one I like and haven't deleted.) I don't like having to run in and out of mobs to ensure my safety and have never been very fond of hover blasting. I didn't enjoy playing an Arch/Ment, even though it is made of pure awesome. I am a melee kind of guy and decided to make an Elec/Ment. I find myself in Melee Range ALL the time.

I am having so much fun with this toon. I play on Victory Server and haven't seen many or even very few toons with this Primary/Secondary. I have looked for threads dealing with Elec/Ment but have found none...always Elec and another secondary or another Primary and Ment as the secondary.

I am hitting Aim + Concentration and then running into the mob and Drain Psyche for nearly 98% HP/Sec Regen. (Depending on the size of mob). I know the mob is hitting me but you would never know because of my regen. I then stay in Melee and fight till nothing is left to kill.

I would like to get feedback, from you experienced blasters, on my build or quite possibly from others that have chosen the same Primary/Secondary as myself. As I stated earlier...1st Blaster I've Kept till 50 and 1st Blaster I've really enjoyed playing...I'm not finished IO'ing the toon out...I am still working on 5 Slotting two powers with purple sets so I can get Recharge up to 170% and only miss perma hasten by 2.63 seconds (including cast time), but it is fun to play and will hopefully be even more fun when I get finished slotting the last 2 sets. I did switch the levels at which I took certain powers...So hopefully no one has issues with that. I am open to suggestions.

If you're going to stay in melee range all the time I'd suggest slotting for smashing and lethal defense bonuses. It will keep you a live much longer then recharge bonuses.

with DP being up every group, not so much a necesity, softcapped SL defense anyway.

Cheaper purples, same result, more or less with near soft capped S/L. The build does lose out on some recharge, hp, and damage bonuses, but not by much. Oh and the pet, but I never found VS that useful, especially now with the new defiance mechanic.

The assumption is that you will start a fight with drain psyche so that and my experience with a staminaless sonic/mental tells me that you don't need stamina. Health is there for the sleep resist. and I tossed in acro to shrug off one hold, however much that helps.

The reduced recharge bonuses only adds 3 seconds to hasten's recharge, and I think I can tolerate hasten with a 5 second downtime. I also slotted SC for damage, because you aren't draining anything before they die, so you might as well help them die quicker.

Thanks all...

I'm gonna look at the build some more and see what fits my playstyle...I did add damage to Short Circuit: Scirocco's Dervish Acc/Dmg and the Chance For Lethal Proc...giving me a bonus of 10% to Regeneration and also added Obliteration; Chance for Smashing Proc and Eradication; Chance For Energy Damage Proc...have had these in storage for ages on a different toon so I decided to use them.

I am also going to look into slotting for Smashing/Lethal Defense...hadn't thought about it much since I can just pop my PFF for a second to regen if I get into trouble and with the recharge I have it doesn't take long for it to come up if needed...definitely gonna look at the smashing/lethal defense aspect more now though.
