  2. Actually, this could be something done by players, I guess. As a standalone program that creates the proper paths for the effects - Mai. Issues would be the fx files themselves. We already have similar mods for icons and sounds that are misleading/problem causing.
  3. You only get the goodies the FIRST time you run this weeks WST, so dinging fifty later does mean not getting the notice if you've run the WST before.

    1) Unless I'm mistaken, it hasn't been pushed live yet. Which means the fix can be fixed before it's pushed live, making the bug only affect test. Wow, a power not working right on test! Oh noes, end of world!

    2) How do you know what QA was saying? Unless you work there, QA isn't something you'd interact with, and the CSRs can only work off what the developers tell them. And it sounds like a mistaken dev told them it was WAI.

    I know someone who did something like this.

    He also randomized the title levels, which had duplicates (so no telling if that "Guy in tights" was a new or old poster kinda thing but still allowed multiple titles.)

  8. Tunnel Rat - I know it'll take programmer time, but if you could convince the uppers to let them code in a options tab where the game can sub alternate effects for common problem powers? Such as one checkbox for Peacebringer sounds, one for the Barrier powers vFx, etc?

    Seems like something that, other than requiring a restart, would not take too much just because the game is already set to prefer the uncompressed /data/ folder if present.
  9. Haven't messed with them here on my new rig, but I was able to change some physX settings without a phsyX card when I had the program package installed on my old comp.

    Not yet started on, but apparently greenlughted, they also mentioned a new blaster secondary that sounded more physical/MA styling recently.

    Still rooting for clown and carnie mms though.
  11. Specifically, the physX implementation on CoH is from prior to the Nvidia buyout and integration into Nvidia video cards. So the game doesn't recognize an Nvidia card's ability to play physics processor.

    It was one of the reasons to play DA back when it "sucked" duh!

    1) I think all the finalists used to be hosted on the FTP site, but that's out of reach at the moment. Note linked video is 07. Try digging in the News forum.

    2) Probably a victim of a forum purge, as that's from CoV release.

    3) No clue.

    4) Just because Blizzard is making money doesn't mean it's developers are raking it in. Plus, as long as you make enough, it's better to work on something you enjoy more anyway

    Having the ability to have power effects (blasts mainly, but other powers too) originate/start with a rune being drawn would be awesome. Fore more "powerful" powers (any of the ones with a longer animation) it could actually take time to finish drawing it, while quick attacks would just have the rune fully formed.

    With the fact you could add in delays from drawing, you could make several runes and have them all available for all the powers, just chaing the drawing time to fit animation time.

    Coding issue, if I'm not mistaken, as they generally prefer to not change graphics unless there are health reasons (Sonic Resonance), balance issues (animations not long/short enough), or performance reasons (even one instance of the power having too big an impact on the player's computer).

    So they need to code a customization interface that works with Pool/Epic/Patron powers - which are many compared to Primary & Secondary sets, and can be changed around.

  22. The level/inf badges are unique to each "faction", (Primal-born Heroes and Villians vs Praetorians) - so there is another way for the DB to tell.

    As far as the "Agent of" badges the solution for removal would be even more simple (WARNING : NOT A PROGRAMMER) - any character with two or more would make the system check the primal/praetorian flag

    Bug hunter is only peripherally award via a bug. It's awardes via dev concesus for discovering a major issue. No bug, exploited or not, can award it.

    Part of the issue is often the only difference between being award via bug vs. exploiting is intent. So it makes it easier to just remove it.

    Mission badge as I understand it. The fifth(/sixth) badges are exclusive despite being awarded as different badges - swapping sides, as I recall, didn't change thenbadge title - you had to re-earn it and the new one removed your old one.
