CoV when released had 2 different versions and a Pre-order. The Preorder was 10 bucks, the Standard Edition was $50 (minus the preorder if you had one) and the Collector's Edition was $80 (again, minus the preorder if you had one).
[/ QUOTE ]
Wrong. CoV did have a pre-order bonus, obtained when you put down an initial amount towards a version (regular or CE) of the game. It did not entitle you to any discounts.
When I got mine, I paid five bucks towards the regular edition at Software Etc. (Owned by Gamestop). It was the receipt that was important. -

But I liked you as Mod08... Why did that have to go away?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, Mod08 will still be here. Just as the evil side who is in your posts, locking ur threads. -

I have a question that is not on the FAQ. It seems that this will be an expansion that we have to buy, much like how City of Villains was available for sale when it first came out. Will Rogue change from "You have to buy this to play it" to "We've decided to give it to everyone that already has COH" later on?
The reason I ask was that I purchased City of Villains the day before it was made available for free to owners of City of Heroes.
I felt very burned about that.
It still stings a little, too.
[/ QUOTE ]
For how much, and which version?
You still got a month's play time out of it as well. -

It appears that the "TheOcho" ID is being tracked by the Community Digest, and that the "Moderator 08" ID will probably continue to not be tracked. This makes sense... if Mod08 is trying to close out threads, the last thing they need is more attention from being highlighted. Presumably the thought is that the person behind the IDs will now need to occasionally make community announcements that *should* be tracked.
Either that, or TheOcho is what happens when Mod08 "goes rogue"
[/ QUOTE ]
It's needed - he's already made a few announcements that Nivene and Ex had to go back and post in to bring them to the tracker's attention because of it. Posts that were not insignificant and were probably seen as needed out there asap, which would be why he posted them. -

I'm sure the COMPANY has 50 employees, but how many of them actually work in the same cubicle farm alongside Positron, War Witch & Co.?
[/ QUOTE ]
For reference, I count 47 people in this picture, which is now outdated.
[/ QUOTE ]
That picture was taken just a few weeks ago. There might be a few new faces not shown there, but that's a pretty good representation of the people who are here now, at Paragon Studios, in Mountain View, in the same building, in the same 'cubicle farm', working on this game and not any other game.
As others have pointed out, that doesn't reflect the various GMs, tech support people, Customer support, NCSoft West biz peeps, etc etc.
Hopefully, that's clear enough.
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah but none of those people are IMPORTANT
we all know who we what to know about
Who gets the Krispy Kreems each morning.

krispy Kreemes. The one thing that might make me give up H&D Cheesecake. -

QR: Dear god, people. *hits head against wall* The FAQ doesn't tell us anything new, and we still have people asking questions like, "Switching sides? I don't understand what this means?" and "So this is all free, right?"
Sit on your hands, read the press release, think, and THEN post.
[/ QUOTE ]
Keep that up, and I call dibs on your stuff when you get hospitalized for head trauma. -

How could they remove the chicken tug??? This completely screws up all of my fantastic RP arcs! Why do the devs hate RP??? I pay $15/month, I should be able to play the way I want! If this change is permanent, I may have to cancel my account! We'll see how long CoX lasts THEN!
[/ QUOTE ]
It is truly a sad, sad day when a player can't tug his chicken in the privacy of his own home.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's been well established that pulling the monster will get you banned, this is just a logical extrapolation from it. -
Suggestions this is not.

Desdemona, a demon-summoning villain who has been redeemed.

Question is - are those two Primes or Praetorians? If the latter - do they have Prime counterparts we know of (which most seem to favor Foreshadow and War Witch)?
If Maelstrom is Foreshadow's counterpart, I could see the "They tried to make me into what they wanted, but I'll show them!" bit - If he has the karma crysis, maybe they tried to bring him back alive as the "good" version -
[ QUOTE ]
Just a minor question...
Are the villain missions going to be a bit more villainy? I'm not asked for the whole "MWAH-HA-HA Watch me boil puppies and skin orphans!!!" thing, but as a villain, I seem to spend the majority of my time fighting other villains more than those costumed buffoons of Paragon City.
I'm tentatively possibly excited about this, but please tell me that we're going to be a bit more villainy.
Oh, and does this push back I-15 even further?
[/ QUOTE ]
No - it's been in the works for a bit already (GR) and Box expansions get their own staff. -

More details.... "later this year" ... I'm sticking to my thought that is will be out in late 2010...
[/ QUOTE ]I doubt late 2010. They did mention pre-ordering this year, and traditionally even Amazon won't put it up that early (If DNF is available... well, no body is perfect)

I get the impression that 'Going Rogue' was not supposed to be out of the bag for some time yet. I guess someone's got some questions to answer about why this was announced now.
Still, all that aside, this looks really good. I'm glad that we're getting a brand new expansion to play.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, depending on EMPulse's definitions, it wasn't too far out to begin with - I asked how much a little early and "she" said "not very". Which, combined other bit, makes it sound like it was due today, possibly. -

Ah, but he clearly said "There are two IOs that give -KB" when there are clearly three.

Two IOs...more than two SETS. Big difference. Never gave a definitive number of sets.

But there are THREE IOs. So something like four sets total when counting the one with the (3 or 4) Setbonus.

Perhaps they need to set up a different filter for custom critter names, because seriously, you can't copyright the word "gambit," nor any other word. Perhaps Marvel or DC will introduce a new hero named "The" and destroy fiction entirely.
[/ QUOTE ]
It was never a question of Copyright. It's a question of Trademark, which is an entirely different set of laws overseen by an entirely different government agency. You cannot copyright a word, but you CAN Trademark one.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, pretty sure it's the same agency. But yeah, trademarks are the issue here. -
[ QUOTE ]
They need to stick to the simple profanity filter, but even then, that filter is almost retarded, I remember the word "cracker" being censored and I wasn't even using it the racial manner...
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not like our filter has ever taken anything into context.
But that is over the top, still. Because if it is, what am I supposed to offer Polly? -
[ QUOTE ]
It is not an option.
Costumes are hard coded to be two-color selectable only (you can have other colors, but they're not selectable).
It would be a big deal of programming to allow more than 2 selectable colors. They're no way in hades they'd do that just for one costume piece. It would have to be a decision to allow that for all costume pieces and then they'd be pretty much committing themselves to re-creating a large chunk of the costume pieces to take advantage of this new feature.
So... very improbable.
[/ QUOTE ]
They might do it for it for new pieces only. Would lower (somewhat) the work. -

We already know about the EST/EDT typo - I bet they meant KAOS not CHAOS.
