Hadn't read the br00t board in a while, so just caught up on this. My EM/WP brute skipped ET for a couple of power picks later than it was first available because I'd read so many times how much it sucked now. I never had the old version, but I love, love, love the current version. So maybe for those that had the old animation ET it's a big deal, but as someone who never experienced that, I'm extremely happy with the current animation and damage.

How does now sound? Is now a good time? Who else remembers the Lucky Lowbie Lottery!
[/ QUOTE ]
I was literally just thinking about that. I bought a normally cheap salvage for 63M last week and forgot to take a screenie to post. But I still remember the poorer people out there.

The one thing that perplexes me though is people listing items for less than they would get in a store. For instance today almost half of the Computer Virus sold have been for less than 250inf. and mostly for 100.
Why when they could just sell it to a vendor for 250?
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't imagine a circumstance where any of my characters would care about 250 inf.
It's too small a sum to be on my radar, even at the lower levels.
I generally dump all my salvage on the market for 1 inf and delete the stuff that doesn't sell instantly.
I have a level 8 brute who bought a level 30 damage IO for 25,000 yesterday and sold it for 300k this morning. At level 8, he sees no difference between 1 inf and 250 inf. And the gap only widens the higher you get.
My level 30 stalker has 30 million inf- for him, there's no difference between 1 inf or 100,000 inf.
It's just a scale thing. 250 inf isn't a big enough sum to worry over, certainly not worth an extra trip to the vendor if it doesn't sell instantly at the market.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. If I can't sell for over a million, I list for 1. Or delete.

This is all well and good for you guys who have been playing for awhile, but for the new guy (or returning guy) AE was great because it broke the market and the strangle hold the REAL farmers had on it. Now that its not so easy for me to get tickets I have to resort to the market but I never had a bank roll to begin with. Needless to say my toons are not tricked out with IO sets and probably never will.
[/ QUOTE ]
You haven't learned the basics of the market. This is not the market's fault. This is not the marketeer's fault- we put together a lot of guides for you and you didn't read any of them.
[/ QUOTE ]
I started one to teach others but ran out of steam before finishing. Still, there's enough there for anyone to get started on riches.

I need to finish IO'ing fast! Before another simple set of 3 IOs costs me 25millBlessing of Zyphers: KB protection = NOT FUN! put a giant hole in my wallet...
[/ QUOTE ]
You missed it. Blessing: KB prot were down to around ~3M at one point, and I got a small pile of them blue and redside for about that. I saw them going for ~555k here and there, but those were more anomalies I think. The market is all about timing.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was there for it. Bought over 20 BotZ: KB Prot recipes for a total of just under 35M. I saw prices crashing, put in super-lowball bids, left the character for almost a week, came back, ???, profit! Even managed to pick up a couple high-30s for <200K per recipe.
I was pretty sure the devs didn't plan on letting meow farming continue, and that scarcity of some sort would hit again. So far, I've made over 150M (gross, not sure how much total I spent on recipes, salvage, and crafting) from my crafted KB, and haven't sold even a dozen yet.

I put a +stealth io in prestige power slide, so that way it doesn't take up a "real" IO slot, and leaves sprint open if I want to jog in a less sneak manner.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can t put into any sprint powers either. Sorry.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes you can. That's how I've done it on a number of my characters. Particularly those who don't have a travel power.

Oh btw, when you zone, it will double stack. So you can get up to two minutes of invisibility right after you enter a mission. (I used that tidbit a lot when I used to do solo speed runs for the Twilight Sun / Mender Lazarus TFs.)
[/ QUOTE ]
That's a bug...the double stacking is going to be fixed.
Yes...slotting it in hover works as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
The stealth stacking is caused by the same problem that allows speed boost, fortitude, force field or sonic bubbles, and other normally non-stacking effects to stack. It's been in the game since release, and a dev at one point said of the stackable things I just listed that they know it's a bug but probably won't fix it due to the time and code modification needed to make it work right. Double stacking isn't a huge benefit, so while it might get fixed, I doubt it will and certainly wouldn't concern myself either way.

I wonder how many of you praising i14 are just in it for the farming and showing 1 vet badge each. This has turned the game into Farming gone wilder than ever. No high level players running any skills. This is sad.But whatever. I canceled 2 accounts just like that guy you flamed and griefed earlier. Farm on. But this is sad Bye
[/ QUOTE ]
Crud. They're on to me. I signed up for an account almost 5 years ago, but then went away until I14 came out. I've never even played the game outside MA farming. Clearly no one understands the problem with the latest issue like you do.
RagManX -
Some of the folks hit 50. Some of the characters Smurphy was playing weren't fun enough for him to get to the end. My character stalled at 39. I believe some others were low-30s, but can't recall for sure. Don't know if others got refunds or not. I told Smurphy 200M wasn't enough to worry about, but he said he'd help me get my MM to 50 some time if we're on at the same time and he's running a farm. So I figure I'll wait for that and pump out more levels via playing that character.
RagManX -
[ QUOTE ]
Count me among the minority who hates I14 and the MA and have cancelled 2 subs over it. I'm sure you'll have no trouble replacing my 2 accounts, but it's clear the devs didn't put enough (any?) thought into how this would affect player populations in the zones.
If your goal was to turn all the zones into the equivalent of the Abandoned Sewer Network after nerfing the Kraken Trial: congratulations! The MA has been a huge success!
If your goal was to turn every zone into a "PL meh!" zone: congratulations! The MA has been a huge success!
All you've done is succeed in creating an "all-farm all the time" game in every zone. Again, if this was your goal, you succeeded beyond your wildest dreams!
But in the meantime, I'll take my entertainment dollars elsewhere. I14 is a waste of my money.
[/ QUOTE ]
Kneejerk reaction is kneejerk.
Honestly. Every new release, and every special event week-end/period, gives a short massive shift in play styles. Canceling a sub the first week of this particular release is especially insane. Even before this was released, most people could predict that there would be a massive shift in playstyle. But it will be brief. I have already, after 3 days of heavy MA creation and consumption, gone back to playing normally for most of my play time. Others will as well.

That's badass, even if your brute is a bit of a wimp.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you mean "That's badass, despite your brute being quite a wimp." Really. She's had opponents to <15% health while at 50-75% and still lost. She's like the Washington Redskins of My-Brute, able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory repeatedly.

Hey, if nothing else, I helped drive up the prices on all the others.

I got in for less than my intended bidding price, and Smurphy worked me past the levels I hate so much as an MM, so I win no matter where he stops.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, Ex. I did plan on contacting support, but wanted to check with other players first to see if someone already had an answer. Figure I consume less resources if another player already has an answer than if I make support give a response, but I will hit PlayNC to ask since no one seems sure of the answer here.

I know everyone else has moved on, but I wanted to check in and see if anyone else had a problem with this? I switched my billing to 12 + 2 on both my accounts about 3 weeks ago. The first account came up due yesterday or today and the system did not renew. I had to manually renew this morning, which means I didn't get my +2. I have my other account set to renew in about another 6 weeks, and I don't want to miss on that one getting +2 like my primary account just did. I need to know if there is anything I have to do to make sure I get the deal still, since I signed up for it but couldn't find a way to make payment on my credit card at that time.

There is definatly a rise in cost on many servers for recipies and a lack of quantity.
[/ QUOTE ]
The markets are cross-server, so a rise in cost will happen on all or none for either faction. Just mentioning this since many people still don't realize this is the case.
RagManX -
While I know it would be a bit of work to do, you probably want to copy all that info to this post. It won't get purged in the guides forum, but probably will eventually get purged from the MM forum.

I'm usually in your camp on many things, but how is this not exploitive PowerLeveling for a fee?
[/ QUOTE ]
In fairness...that is exactly what is happening ingame now. If you go to PI on Freedom, people are paying 1-2 million per fun on farms.
[/ QUOTE ]
We can buy fun directly now?
[/ QUOTE ]
I personally would never pay 1-2 million per fun, but I would gladly pay 5-10K per fun.
