China Bans Gold Farmers

In addition to its ongoing crackdown on Internet porn, the Chinese government has declared that virtual currency cannot be traded for real goods or services.
Virtual currency, as defined by Chinese authorities, includes "prepaid cards of cyber-games," according to a joint release issued by China's Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Commerce on Friday.

"The virtual currency, which is converted into real money at a certain exchange rate, will only be allowed to trade in virtual goods and services provided by its issuer, not real goods and services," the Ministries said.
The Chinese government estimates that trade in virtual currency exceeded several billion yuan last year, a figure that it claims has been growing at a rate of 20% annually. One billion yuan is currently equal to about $146 million.

The ruling is likely to affect many of the more than 300 million Internet users in China, as well as those in other countries involved in virtual currency trading. In the context of online role playing games like World of Warcraft, virtual currency trading is often called gold farming.

Considering that they have just released i15, working on GR and i16, which has already been confirmed will be announced in July.

I'm going to be "that guy" who uses the new tailor to have my one fighter turn from a normal guy to a Huge guy.... But it will be a Legendary Super Saiyan transformation, complete with recoloured Blue fire attacks! Ohhh there will be armies of us!!


In all seriousness I'm looking forward to recolouring my Spines/Regen scrapper! Hopefully we'll be able to get new Spines colours, maybe greenish so that it looks toxic... and I plan on making my Green Regen powers almost non existant if at all possible.

Was another awesome time!! Even took out Ghost of Scrapyarder for fun.

Heh, depending on the team all those will work.

Make a team with Half control/buff/debuff. Add maybe a tank, and a blaster/corruptor or two with a scrapper/Brute or two and you have an easy ITF.

If the new game is Going Rogue then thats great. I'd love to see Preatoria as an entirely new city that has several zones, and you could go 1-50 there.

I was surprised to see my name on that list! But I do recognize a lot of names on there and have had the pleasure of teaming with several of them.
Some of my fondest COX memories came from people on that list!

Ran with a PUG last night. We had a tank 3 scrappers 2 blasters a Kin and what we thought was a Rad.

The Ill/Rad didn't have ANY of the Rad debuff powers, effectively making Reichsman impossible to kill when he pops his godmode. We weren't impressed.
